Anthony Joshua Unveils Bold Masterplan With Eddie Hearn to Propel England to World Cup Glory

Anthony Joshua is no stranger to Wembley Stadium, but he could soon be heading back there to watch one of his clients.

The two-time heavyweight world champion has sold out England’s home of football on four occasions, and has now talked up getting involved in the beautiful game on a full-time basis.

Now aged 35 and heading towards the end of his career, ‘AJ’ posted a surprise Instagram story referencing his famous promoter Eddie Hearn.

“The family has conquered darts, snooker, pool, boxing, fishing, golf, owning a football club and you’ve had a presence in basketball, netball and gymnastics,” he wrote to his 16.5million followers.

“I believe ‘we’ could look at the football agency industry and have a strong presence.

“Imagine we help manage the player who helped England win the World Cup. Call me tomorrow mate.”

Hearn reposted the message with emojis of a football and handshake, which comes as no surprise given his previous comments.

Speaking with GQ back in 2020 Hearn was left shocked when asked about becoming a football agent.

“Do you know what? I’ll just say it. Me and AJ are talking about doing it.

“We’ve looked at it for a while and he mentioned it to me the other day and he said: ‘You know how to represent athletes, you can use my brand and my name, I know a lot of the players, we go out’.

“‘You know how to build a career on the pitch and off the pitch commercially, so what do you think?’

Why Hearn moving into football makes sense

Hearn is one of boxing’s most famous faces despite never putting on the gloves, helping take the sport to a whole new level after inheriting his father Barry’s empire.

Assisting him on the way has been Joshua’s undoubted star power, while recent agreements with the sporting wing of Saudi Arabia’s government has seen cash flow into the sport like never before.

Hearn also has football experience too, from when his father was the chairman of Leyton Orient from 1995 to 2014.

Terence Crawford’s triumph on September 13th is destined to secure him a spot in the annals of boxing history.

A win over Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is monumental and would be the third undisputed title of the American’s career if he could pull off the feat.

Terence Crawford’s advantage is not just his physicality against Canelo Alvarez, says Chris Algieri

Chris Algieri, the former WBO super lightweight champion, has been a huge fan of ‘Bud’ for his 41-fight career, and he knows exactly what makes him different from the Mexican.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Algieri held back on a full prediction for the bout but offered up an interesting piece of analysis.

“I’ve seen Canelo pushed around, I’ve never seen Terence pushed around, so when you talk about who is going to be the boss, I’ve never seen anyone boss Terence Crawford around, but I have seen Canelo get bossed.”

Fans will still look to his win against Israil Madrimov and use it as an example of weight being an issue, but he was still able to put pressure on the Uzbek boxer to get the win.

While he’s never seen the 37-year-old controlled in the ring, it is also his mind that gives him a huge competitive edge in the bout.

“There are so many different things you can talk about, but from a psychological standpoint, who is fresher, who is meaner, and who wants it more, that’s going to come into play,” he said.

“From a psychological standpoint, ‘Bud’s’ just different.”

Terence Crawford’s only time fighting outside of America was his first world title win 11 years ago

However, there was only one time he travelled outside of the US, and it was across the pond to pick up his first-ever world title in the lightweight division.

Interestingly, it was in Scotland against reigning champion Ricky Burns in 2014 with a comprehensive unanimous decision.

His dominance in the bout was displayed by his 45% landing of power shots, which kept Burns at bay for the 12 rounds.

Although, he has fought the likes of Amir Khan and Kell Brook, the former undisputed welterweight champion has made his foes travel as the A-side.

Tyson Fury Breaks Silence with Explosive Message on Potential Wembley Showdown with Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury has given his thoughts on a potential all-British fight against Anthony Joshua during an interview ahead of Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk’s undisputed clash.

Fury, 36, has not fought since sustaining a second consecutive defeat to Usyk, 38, in Saudi Arabia in December 2024.

Then, in January 2025, the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ announced his retirement from the sport in a video posted to his social media channels.

In the clip, he said: “Hi everybody, I’m going to make this short and sweet, I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast. I’ve loved every single minute of it.”

However, he could be set to make a U-turn. Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh posted an ominous message on X earlier this month, which nodded towards a potential return for Fury.

He wrote: “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!!! I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026 … We have a rabbit to hunt!”

It is still unclear if, when or who Fury will face if he does indeed return to action, but the obvious contenders are Usyk, Dubois and long-time foe Joshua.

Usyk and Dubois’ next steps will be heavily influenced by tonight’s result, but Joshua has already made his feelings clear on potentially facing Fury.

In January, Joshua said: “It’s a fight I want to see because I am a fan of boxing. When I am in the gym, everyone is asking me [about this fight]. I ain’t got many years ahead of me. I want to leave the game with a bang and make an impact.

“Everyone is asking me the same question. It’s up to me to deliver; that’s why I’m saying it has to happen this year.

“I think we can make this fight happen.”

Joshua is currently recovering from surgery on his elbow. As for Fury, he has returned to the media spotlight this week and spoke to Ring Magazine on Saturday.

Fury said: “He’s coming off a spectacular knockout to a local kid and I’m coming off a debatable decision to the undisputed champion.

“It’s good to give the fans what they want, but is it really worth my health?

“I go to these events and see some of these old-time champions, and some of them get lost in the bathroom, and I don’t want to be like that.”

Canelo’s Fiercest Foe Warns Crawford as One Fatal Mistake Could Shatter His Shot at Beating the Pound-for-Pound King

Terence Crawford has a huge task ahead of him as he moves up two weight divisions to take on Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed super-middleweight titles.

Terence Crawford struggled to win a razor-close decision against Israil Madrimov in his last fight, the first and only of his career at super-welterweight.

With the win, Bud became a four-weight world champion, though he may be pushing his luck as he jumps not one, but two more divisions for the pound-for-pound mega-fight.

With the weight disadvantage, Crawford needs every advantage he can get, including some advice from Canelo‘s toughest opponent.

Lara faced Canelo in 2014, and lost in an extremely tight split-decision. The fight remains one of the most contested of Canelo’s career, alongside the Gennadiy Golovkin fights

According to BoxRec, the average score from 89 members of the media was a 114-114 draw. Canelo, who Bruce Carrington called lazy recently, won on 34 cards, Lara on 30, and 25 couldn’t separate the pair.

Now, years later, Lara spoke to FightHype.com on the one thing Crawford must not allow Canelo to do in their fight.

The interviewer translated Lara’s words, “[Lara] remembers [Canelo] used his legs real good and as long as Crawford uses his legs and doesn’t let Canelo just hit him in the arms and beat him up in the arms, he has a very good chance.”

Lara also said of the fight, in the interviewer’s words, “He sees it as a very interesting 50/50 fight, he feels that Canelo’s very strong right now and wants to see how Crawford will handle the power, especially in the early rounds.”

Canelo Alvarez is on a mission to prove the doubters wrong against Terence Crawford.

Already, former opponents of Alvarez have advised the American on how to tackle the bout, but even Amir Khan warned Crawford not to take the fight in 2024.

The American Dream’ himself fought Saul to a hotly contested split decision loss, which boxing fans and pundits have been split on ever since.

After pushing the 35-year-old to the brink, he shared his key advice on how to prevent the dominant, undisputed champion from taking over the bout.

“He remembers fighting Canelo back 14 years ago, he remembers he uses his legs real good, and as long as Crawford uses his legs and he doesn’t let Canelo just hit him in the arms and beat him up on the arms, he has a very good chance,” Lara said.

Erislandy Lara’s stats in the Canelo fight reveal what Terence Crawford must use to win

It has been 11 years since the controversy of their split decision in the MGM Grand, but while the history books will show a win for the super middleweight king, the statistics show a slightly different fight.

55 jabs landed for the Cuban-turned-American compared to Canelo, who landed under 10 jabs, a 5% connection rate overall across the fight’s distance.

More astounding was the fact that by the second round, Lara had landed more jabs than Alvarez did across the entire 12 rounds.

But his dominance does not stop there, as he edged his opponent 28% to 23% in punch accuracy.

What this presents is a solid basis for Crawford to work off, using his legs and his long levers to keep the fight at range, which could prevent the five-division legend from walking him down.

Anthony Joshua: Tony Yoka Emerges from the Shadows as a Threat to Joshua’s Return

As Anthony Joshua plots his next move in a heavyweight division teeming with giants and dream matchups, a new — yet familiar — name is beginning to stir the waters. Tony Yoka, the towering Frenchman and Olympic gold medalist, has quietly re-entered the conversation, emerging from the shadows as a legitimate threat to Joshua’s comeback narrative.

Yoka, once hailed as the future of European heavyweight boxing, has experienced a career of highs and turbulence. After winning gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics — where he triumphed over none other than Joe Joyce — the French fighter entered the professional ranks with immense hype and a lucrative promotional push. But inconsistent performances, injury setbacks, and inactivity saw his momentum stall, and his name slowly faded from the front lines of the heavyweight scene.

Until now.

The Resurgence

Anthony joshua

In recent months, Tony Yoka has shown signs of a quiet but calculated comeback. His camp has been signaling a renewed focus, with training footage revealing a leaner, sharper version of the 6’7″ fighter. Sources close to his team suggest Yoka is eager to silence critics and willing to take on major names to accelerate his climb.

And who better to target than Anthony Joshua — the man whose Olympic gold Yoka also claims, the global star plotting a comeback, and a fighter still searching for a defining second act in his career?

The Olympic Ties That Bind

The narrative potential of a Joshua vs. Yoka showdown is undeniable. Both men are Olympic champions from the same class of 2016. Both were once pegged as heirs to the heavyweight throne. But while Joshua surged into superstardom with world titles and sold-out stadiums, Yoka’s journey took a quieter, more complicated turn.

Terence Crawford

A fight between the two would not just be a high-stakes heavyweight clash — it would be a battle for redemption, legacy, and unfinished Olympic business.

Styles Make Fights

Yoka’s style presents an intriguing challenge for Joshua. Tall, rangy, and technically sound, the Frenchman has the tools to frustrate AJ. His jab is crisp, his footwork underrated, and when confident, he possesses a slickness rare among fighters his size. For Joshua, who has struggled at times with mobile, tactical opponents, Yoka could represent a genuine test — particularly if AJ is not fully dialed in.

On the flip side, Yoka has shown vulnerability when pressured, and Joshua’s power and explosiveness could quickly turn the tide. Both men have much to prove, and that makes the potential clash even more combustible.

Frank Warren’s Surprise Move

Fueling speculation further, British promoter Frank Warren recently signed a new heavyweight talent many believe could be Yoka — or someone closely aligned with him — opening the door to a UK-based showdown. While details remain under wraps, insiders suggest talks have quietly begun behind the scenes for a late 2025 matchup.

Tyson fury

If so, the storyline writes itself: Anthony Joshua, once the king of British boxing, facing the reawakened threat of a forgotten Olympic rival.

The Stakes Couldn’t Be Higher

For Yoka, a win over Joshua would catapult him into global relevance and revive a career that many had written off. For Joshua, it would be a dangerous but potentially cathartic test — the kind of fight that could reignite his path to the top or derail it entirely.

One man rises from the shadows. The other walks the tightrope of redemption. Their paths are different, but now they may finally cross — and when they do, the heavyweight landscape may never look the same.

Let the tension build.

“Unstoppable Now!” – Stephen A. Smith Sparks Frenzy With Daring Canelo-Crawford Prediction After Crawford’s Stunning Body Transformation

On Saturday, the 13th of September, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will clash in one of the biggest boxing super-fights in recent memory.

The Mexican superstar and the undefeated American face off at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in front of what will no doubt be a sold-out crowd of around 65,000 people. Even though Canelo has won six fights in a row since losing to Dmitry Bivol in 2022, many boxing fans, fighters and analysts have noticed a significant drop-off in his performances inside the squared circle, and although Crawford’s big jump up in weight was at one stage the biggest talking point coming into the fight, attention has now shifted to whether Canelo still has enough left in the tank to compete.

One of the most powerful voices in American sports media, Stephen A. Smith, recently spoke to All the Smoke to submit one of the boldest predictions for Canelo vs Crawford yet.

Canelo Alvarez may be one of the best and most accomplished boxers of all time, but Stephen A. Smith believes the Mexican doesn’t stand much of a chance against Terence Crawford. ‘Bud’ is known for his superb fight IQ, speed and movement, and A. Smith mentioned all these things when predicting Crawford to win the fight via decision.

“I love Canelo. Crawford will beat Canelo. Crawford will beat Canelo by decision.”

Smith continued: “I can’t see anybody knocking out Canelo Alvarez. But I do believe that if you can box and you can move, you can beat Canelo. You can outpoint him. I think that Crawford is brilliant as a boxer. I think that between switching to conventional and southpaw, using his jab and movement, I think that Crawford is going to outpoint Canelo because he’s faster.”

As well as mentioning Crawford’s outstanding attributes, A. Smith also pointed towards Canelo’s over-reliance on his power as another reason why the Mexican will be defeated, as ‘Bud’ is extremely difficult to hit.

A. Smith’s confident prediction comes just a day after Crawford posted a video to social media of him training for the super-fight in September, and although the size difference and move up in weight for ‘Bud’ has been spoken about a lot, the 37-year-old is looking in phenomenal shape, and is almost certainly the biggest he has ever been.

Floyd Mayweather’s Uncle Slams Canelo Alvarez Over Terence Crawford and ‘Money May’ Comparison

Floyd Mayweather officially retired in 2017 after a crossover fight with Conor McGregor.

During his era as ‘Money’ Mayweather, he fought a young upstart in Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, whom he beat by majority decision.

Fast forward 12 years from that loss, and Canelo now sits as the undisputed super middleweight king, ready to face four-division great Terence Crawford.

The comparisons between Floyd and ‘Bud’ have been made by the Mexican himself, claiming that a win here is better than a victory over the undefeated legend, even if Crawford is jumping up two weight classes.

His criticisms didn’t stop there as he took apart the suggestion that the now four-weight world champion faced a prime Floyd.

“What was Canelo 20 something? He had more fights than Floyd, and he lost? To a man who was 30-something years old.

“How are you at the top of your career, you ain’t in your prime at 36. That’s not your prime, your prime is in your 20s.”

Canelo Alvarez ranks former rival Floyd Mayweather a 10/10

While he may have made some comparisons between the Omaha fighter and the boxer once known as ‘Pretty Boy’, the admiration for his rival cannot be understated.

Canelo said: “10/10. You know, I don’t need to explain it.”

He also ranked Dmitry Bivol and Gennady Golovkin, who never suffered a knockdown in his career, in the same bracket, labelling the latter a ‘complete fighter’.

The Guadalajara native will have to muster up a performance from his prime years, similar to the ‘GGG’ rematch win, to add to his Hall of Fame career, or face an unexpected upset from a boxer looking to end his career with the biggest notch available.

“Despite Crawford KO, Shawn Porter Dares to Size Up His Chances Against Canelo at 168

Shawn Porter retired after a loss to Terence Crawford and has now weighed in on the pound-for-pound star’s fight against Canelo Alvarez.

Crawford last fought at super welterweight but will jump uo two divisions to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super middleweight world title

The fight, when first mentioned, seemed unrealistic, with Canelo showing little interest and claiming he would get no credit for beating the smaller man. His opinion has changed since signing a deal with Riyadh Season, and the bout was officially announced last month.

Speaking to the Ring Magazine, Porter – who was fighting well against Crawford in 2021 before a tenth round stoppage loss – said that even despite the weight advantage for Canelo, it is a pick ’em fight.

“Terence is taller than him, has the reach. I’m telling you, that’s a 50/50 fight.”

Terence Crawford

Crawford will have taken confidence from Canelo’s last outing against William Scull, where the Cuban, though he lost on the cards, stayed out of harm’s way for the duration of the contest, leading many to believe that the Mexican has lost a step when it comes to cutting off the ring.

Still, Canelo is undefeated in the super-middleweight ranks and there is no arguing that if and when he lands on ‘Bud’ Crawford, the American won’t have taken a shot like that under the lights in the entirety of his pro campaign.

The pair face off on September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas.
