“It’ll Take Something Crazy”: Terence Crawford’s Team Demands Unbelievable Purse for Return After Canelo Showdown

Bernie Davis, a coach of Terence Crawford, believes it could take $100 million to lure the newly crowned champion back into the ring.

Crawford scored the best victory of his career last time out as he was crowned undisputed super-middleweight champion with a stunning victory over Canelo Alvarez.

Prior to the bout, ‘Bud’ had declared it could be his last fight if he won, which he did so in spectacular fashion to make boxing history.

The 38-year-old is coming to the twilight years of his career, and is running out of challenges after securing world titles in a fifth weight class.

But he has hinted he could continue in the ring and fight in the 160lbs division in a bid to try and collect more belts.

But his coach Davis, doesn’t expect it to be easy to bring him back, particularly given the fights on offer.

“I think Crawford is done,” he said.

“If it ain’t $100 million to go down and fight those guys [Janibek Alimkhanuly, Erislandy Lara, and Carlos Adames] and let them guys do all the hard work.

Anthony Joshua

“Let them collect the belts, and then we fight for undisputed. That’s it. Other than that, I don’t see Crawford fighting no more. There’s no need.

“Crawford don’t need to do no more. He’s done everything that there is to do.

“Unless they want to give him a 100 million, make a big spectacle, and put the belts on the line. That’s the only way I can see that.

“100 million no less. Not 75, not 90, 100. It’s got to be 100 million. If it’s not 100 million, then what is he doing it for?

“He ain’t going for nothing. Who can turn down 100 million? Who can turn down 80?”

Crawford has yet to fully sit and consider his next move following his record-breaking efforts.

‘Bud’ returned home to Omaha, Nebraska and received a hero’s welcome.

Now he is taking time away from the sport to rest and spend with his family.

But, Crawford had a surprise meeting with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh who bankrolled the mega-fight.

And he teased that a return could well be imminent, albeit he has again yet to commit to any official talks.

“‘One of the Greatest Ever’ – A Surprising Name Delivers Powerful Praise for Terence Crawford… Bozy Ennis”

Terence Crawford: From the beginning, Derek “Bozy” Ennis was a fan of Terence Crawford. But following the pound-for-pound king’s latest accomplishment, his level of admiration only increased.
Viewed as a slight underdog heading into his September 13 showdown against Canelo Alvarez at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) proved that fighting at 168 pounds was no big deal.
For 36 minutes, Ennis watched closely as the Omaha, Nebraska, native boxed, moved, and grooved his way to a decision. Now, after becoming the first male undisputed champion in three separate divisions, Ennis believes that Crawford has solidified himself among the sport’s best.
“Terence can fight, and he can box,” Ennis told YSM Sports Media. “He takes chances. That’s how you be great. I think he’s great. He’s one of the greatest ever.”
Ennis was hoping to get Crawford to fight his son, former unified welterweight champ-turned-junior middleweight contender Jaron Ennis. However, at this stage, that appears to be a pipe dream.
Terence Crawford
For now, his son will focus on Uisma Lima, his upcoming opponent, while Crawford attempts to figure out his next move.
But before Crawford officially closes the door on his brief rivalry with Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 KOs), the elder Ennis continues to replay that historic September night in his mind. He can’t say enough about Crawford’s sublime performance.
“He won mostly every round,” Ennis said. “You can give Canelo two rounds, but nothing more than that. Terence is great.”

“Fight or Quit” Ex-World Champion Warns Anthony Joshua To Get Back to Fighting — or Hang Up the Gloves for Good”

Former world champion, Johnny Nelson, has advised Anthony Joshua to return to the ring and fight Tyson Fury in 2026 or retire from the sport.

The former two-time heavyweight champion has been out of action since suffering a knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in 2024.

An elbow surgery earlier this year further delayed his comeback, but his return to the gym signals the start of preparations for a tune-up fight.

And while a host of opponents have been sounded out for the Watford star, Joshua has so far failed to book that planned comeback in the early goings of 2026.

In a chat with talkSPORT, Nelson, who held the WBO cruiserweight title between 1999 and 2006, wants Joshua to walk away from the sport for good.

“I think Anthony Joshua has nothing else to prove in this game, and he should rather walk away than hang about and let someone turn him over,” Nelson told talkSPORT.

Gervonta Davis

“It’s either him and Tyson Fury, which we’re all sick of, is it happening or isn’t happening, or just walk out of it. He’s a very comfortable, wealthy man.”

Meanwhile, undefeated Hall of Famer Andre Ward, 41, is contemplating a boxing comeback after eight years, eyeing a heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua.

Ward was recently inspired to consider this ambitious move. Joshua Camp has however said their star is open to facing Ward if their schedules align.

Ward the old two-division champ with a perfect record of 32 wins and no losses talked about coming back to boxing to fight Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight division.

Anthony Joshua, the past two-time top heavyweight belt winner, keeps planning his next moves after a hard time with losses to Oleksandr Usyk and a quick stop by Daniel Dubois last fall in September.

After elbow fix-up surgery that kept him out for more than a year, he plans to jump back in early 2026 against a good top-20 fighter to build up speed one step at a time.

Terence crawford

His boss, Eddie Hearn, just listed some possible foes, stressing matches that help build skills without too much danger right now in his spot.

Even with some people saying he should quit after the late bumps, Joshua stays sharp and even said he might like to fight Ward if it fits just right with his schedule down the line.

This tough spirit shows clearly as he works out hard every day, hoping to grab back his place with the best and quiet the folks who doubt his spark after falling off the main lists.

Terence Crawford Forced Into Clash With the World’s Tallest Champion — Superfight Collapse in Shocking Twist!

Taking on all comers to his welterweight throne during his historic run, Terence Crawford did, however, fail to share the ring with a gigantic challenger.

Making more history just a month ago, Terence Crawford scooped the undisputed super middleweight crown with a decision win over Canelo Alvarez in another heralded performance.

And adding undisputed gold to his mantel, which also hosts undisputed welterweight spoils, Crawford styled on Errol Spence Jr. in a sensational in-ring display.

However, before his win over Canelo, Crawford faced being held up by a rather interesting spectacle against the tallest world champion in boxing today.

Following his successful move to light middleweight in a bid to prime himself for a showdown with Canelo, Terence Crawford was ordered to put championship gold on the line against the towering world champion Sebastian Fundora.

Standing just shy of 6ft 7in, Floridian star Fundora — at the time was recognized as the tallest world champion in boxing, following the defeat of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury by the undisputed titleholder Oleksandr Usyk  just three months prior.

Having just beaten Israil Madrimov in a less-than-memorable win, Crawford would be ordered by the WBO to fight Fundora, who then held the WBC and WBO championships.

Eventually ditching a pairing with Fundora, Crawford would move to super middleweight to face off with Mexican star Canelo.

“No Champion Is Safe: Crawford’s Gunpoint Traffic Stop Sparks Firestorm Against Police”

Terence “Bud” Crawford was celebrated during a victory parade in his hometown of Omaha, Neb. on Saturday but hours later he found himself being ordered out of his car at gunpoint during a traffic stop.

Video surfaced on social media that showed police speaking to Crawford with a gun drawn as the boxer, who is just days removed from his win over Canelo Alvarez, cooperates while stating “I ain’t reaching for no gun” while keeping his hands held high. The police officer is then seen patting Crawford down before the video comes to an end.

Police later issued a statement saying that just before 1:30 a.m. local time, officers stopped a vehicle that was “driving recklessly.” During the traffic stop, the police officer “observed a firearm on the driver’s side floorboard” and for safety, “all four occupants were ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint.”

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Crawford and issued a citation for reckless driving.

All four occupants in the car were legally permitted to carry firearms, including a member of Crawford’s security team who was carrying his own weapon at the time of the traffic stop.

A police supervisor and lieutenant also responded the scene at Crawford’s request.

As a result of the traffic stop, Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer ordered “an internal affairs investigation” over the incident.

In the aftermath of the video going viral, Omaha Mayor John Ewing also issued a statement of his own where he revealed that he actually spoke to Crawford about the incident, which followed the celebration in his honor on Saturday.

Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer has pledged an internal investigation, which I support and want to be full and thorough. We will gather all the facts and be transparent with the public about our findings.

“Terence Crawford Eyes Fresh Title After Surprise Offer From Boxing’s ‘Most Avoided Champion’”

Terence Crawford has been called out by Janibek Alimkhanuly, who is willing to meet the undefeated star for his 160lbs title.

Crawford is arguably the hottest property in boxing right now, after completing an extraordinary feat by moving from 154lbs to 168lbs to dethrone undisputed champion Canelo Alvarez.

‘Bud’ has completed it all and made history by becoming undisputed champion in three weight classes, the first male boxer to do so in the four-belt era.

But now his future is up in the air, with potential retirement and a move to 160lbs to be discussed internally by Crawford and his camp.

Should he choose to move down 8lbs and enter a new division, current unified IBF and WBO champion Alimkhanuly believes a fight makes perfect sense.

“And our fight would be the kind of match every fan would watch with excitement, not wanting to miss a single second.”

Alimkhanuly has failed to yet become a superstar in the sport, having accused several other champions of avoiding him during his undefeated rise.

As a result, he has been labelled by many in the boxing world, including his own team as the ‘most avoided’ champion, given he has yet to become undisputed in the division.

Rematch: I’ve Outgrown 147 I Would Want It At 154 Pounds, Spence On Crawford Rematch

Spence informed BoxingScene.com before he made an appearance at open workouts Wednesday at MGM Grand that his next fight will be contested at the junior middleweight limit of 154 pounds. The 33-year-old Spence will oppose fellow undefeated welterweight champion Terence Crawford in their highly anticipated 147-pound title unification fight Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

They have rematch clauses in their contracts, but Spence doesn’t think he can put his body through the grueling process of making the welterweight limit again.

“I would want it at 154,” Spence said. “I’ve outgrown 147.”

The weight limit for their rematch will be determined by the winner, however, thus Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) could be forced to fight Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) at welterweight again if Crawford wins and wants their second bout to be contested at 147 pounds as well. Spence would then have to decide if avenging what would be his first professional defeat would be meaningful enough to make the physical sacrifices required to fight at welterweight again.

Spence nevertheless acknowledged a little less than two days before he has to make weight Friday that the process is increasingly difficult, even with top professionals helping his cause every step of the way during training camp.

“It’s been kinda hard,” Spence said, “but I’ve got a nutritionist and a dietician to make sure I’m eating the right foods and make sure I’m good. But it’s definitely hard. It’s definitely a struggle. It’s always hard, but yeah, this is the last time, definitely. I’m a lot older. I’m not as young as I used to be, so you know, you can’t be puttin’ your body through that much to fight.”

Except for one fight, the 5-foot-10 Spence has fought at or near the welterweight maximum of 147 pounds since he turned pro after the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The DeSoto, Texas native has come in at or below 147 pounds for each of his last 10 fights, the last seven of which were championship clashes.

The 5-foot-8 Crawford, meanwhile, will participate in his eighth straight welterweight fight Saturday night. The Omaha, Nebraska native has won each of his seven 147-pound bouts by knockout or technical knockout since the former undisputed 140-pound champion moved up seven pounds five years ago.
Gervonta DavisMGM Grand’s sportsbook listed Crawford as a slight favorite Wednesday to defeat Spence (-160/+135). Crawford or Spence can become boxing’s first fully unified welterweight champion of the four-belt era by winning their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event ($84.99; 8 p.m. EDT; 5 p.m. PDT).

“He’s too big for him” Crawford Comments on Gervonta Davis vs Jake Paul

World champion Terence Crawford has claimed that Jake Paul has an overwhelming physical advantage over Gervonta Davis, and that the fight should not happen under normal circumstances.

The fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis has generated a wave of reactions in the boxing world, and one of the most critical has been the undisputed champion Terence Crawford

In recent statements, Crawford claimed that Paul is “too big” for Davis, and that the fight represents a physical mismatch that calls into question the seriousness of the event.

A difference of seven divisions

Jake Paul, who competes as a cruiserweight, has a seven-division advantage over Davis, who fights at lightweight. In addition, Paul is 6-foot-1 and has a 7-inch height and 9-inch reach advantage.

Gervonta is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters, but this is not fair. Jake Paul is simply too big for him.

Canelo Alvarez

A fight that looks like a circus

The fight, scheduled as an exhibition for November 14 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, will be broadcast by Netflix. Although the rules have not yet been revealed, the event has been described by specialized media as “a mixture of circus and boxing”Crawford echoed this criticism, pointing out that such shows distort the sport and turn it into entertainment with no competitive meaning.

Jake Paul responds with taunts

Paul was quick to respond to the criticism, posting on social media phrases such as “I’m going to deactivate the little boy” and comparing Davis to a decorative cake figure. He also shared edited images and 50 Cent music to mock his detractors.

My motto is: anyone, anytime, anywhere, against all odds. And I like my odds.

For Crawford, these types of fights affect the credibility of professional boxing.

Terence Crawford

It’s not just about skill, it’s about fair conditions. If Jake Paul wants to fight real boxers, let him do it at his weight.

Critics point out that Paul has avoided facing rivals in his category, opting for media fights that generate attention but do not contribute to the sport.

Gervonta Davis, for his part, has not responded directly to Crawford, but has maintained his stance that he can overcome Paul with technique and speed. However, boxers such as Shakur Stevenson have also expressed doubts about his ability to knock out someone with such a size difference.

Terence Crawford‘s words reflect a legitimate concern about the direction boxing is taking in the age of social media and media fights. While Jake Paul has shown an ability to generate attention and money, the physical mismatch against Gervonta Davis raises questions about the ethics and purpose of such encounters. On November 14, the world will see whether spectacle trumps sport.

“It’s Defeat Not Opportunity”: Canelo Alvarez Acknowledges Defeat to Terence Crawford

Canelo Alvarez isn’t crying robbery or making excuses about Saturday’s loss to Terence “Bud” Crawford.

“I feel very proud of everything I’ve achieved so far,” Canelo posted on social media. “We always want to win, but I accept this defeat with humility and learning.

“I am very grateful to my team for all the sacrifices we’ve made together over all these years. I already won because I have my family with me and millions of fans who have never stopped supporting me.”

Canelo (63-3-2, 39 KO) was beaten by decision, as Crawford (42-0, 31 KO) became the new undisputed super middleweight world champion, his third time as an undisputed champion of a division and the fifth weight class in which he’s won a world title.

Canelo, 35, was reportedly paid $150 million for the fight with Crawford, and could be considering retirement, but there will definitely be money fights available for him if he doesn’t, and probably will be for several more years.

Terence Crawford never wanted to be the face of boxing. He said it in fight week.

But after dismantling Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez on Mexican Independence weekend, in front of 70,000 in Las Vegas and a likely record-breaking global audience on Netflix, he has no choice.

It wasn’t just a win. It was a career-defining, legacy-cementing, history-making performance.

Crawford became the first male fighter to be undisputed champion across three weight divisions in the four-belt era.

Before the fight Alvarez had dismissed Crawford’s resume, claiming he had “fought nobody”.

Within an hour of victory Crawford fired back on social media.

“For all the nobodies,” he said. Cue a figurative mic drop.

Anthony Joshua

Boxing doesn’t always recognise greatness until it’s gone.

But right now we have two unbeaten fighters – Crawford and heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk – who are guaranteed hall of famers. Both are in their late-30s, proving that age is just a number.

There’s even that clip of them playing chess in 2018. A stalemate? Perhaps. Because how do you separate their achievements?

The kid from Omaha who once needed counselling for his temper and who survived a shooting moved through the ring with a serene, almost unreadable focus.

All week Crawford exuded unrelenting confidence. There was no doubt in his mind.

He was relaxed and smiling throughout fight week, unfazed by the occasion. Even when he wound up the Mexican fans by making his entrance to a mariachi band, there was never a flicker of doubt he wouldn’t back it up.

Asked when he knew he had beaten Alvarez, Crawford coolly responded: “When he signed the contract.”

Inevitable comparisons will now be drawn with American great Floyd Mayweather, but Crawford batted them away.

“Floyd was the greatest of his era. I’m the greatest of this era. There’s no need to compare,” he said.
