‘I think he is a terrible boxer. I’ll knock him out like Anthony Joshua did’: Jake Paul targets Francis Ngannou next

Jake Paul, the YouTube influencer turned professional prizefighter, shocked the boxing world not only when he took a fight with former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua in December but lasted into the sixth round.

Ngannou is an elite heavyweight mixed martial artist. The former UFC heavyweight champion has also boxed. He pressed Tyson Fury over the course of their 10 round contest and was knocked out in two by Joshua.

“I wouldn’t say there’s a long list of opponents [for his next fight]. I think most recently Francis Ngannou was talking a lot of smack. He is an easy fight for me,” Paul told Sky Sports News.

Paul is not a natural heavyweight, the bulk of his professional career has been conducted at cruiserweight. But he is undaunted about taking on another big man. “I think he is a terrible boxer,” Paul said of Ngannou.

“I’ll go back up to heavyweight and knock him out like Joshua did, render him unconscious. He knows I lasted longer than him against Joshua. I didn’t get put out.”

He wondered though if Ngannou, despite being a seasoned martial artist, would be hesitant to meet him in a boxing bout.

“He maybe wouldn’t do the fight because I think deep down he wouldn’t want to get embarrassed,” Paul suggested.

“So to me that’s a fun one on the list.”

He has had to recover from the broken jaw sustained in the stoppage loss to Joshua but Paul will resume his boxing career.

“We will see how the jaw continues to heal up,” he said. “I’m definitely going to keep on fighting.”

“I Made a Mistake” Jake Paul points to his ‘biggest mistake’ in Anthony Joshua debacle

Jake Paul has identified his “biggest mistake’’ related to his heavyweight fight against Anthony Joshua.

No, it is not failing to get his gloves up before Joshua delivered the knockout blow and broke Paul’s jaw in two places in Round 6.

Rather, Paul said he should have trained at high altitude before the fight Dec. 19 in Miami that was livestreamed by Netflix.

“That was my biggest mistake,’’ he said during a podcast co-hosted by his brother, Logan, that was published Dec. 23

In the first two rounds of the bout, Paul moved briskly around the ring, and Joshua struggled to land punches. But when Paul started to fatigue, Joshua caught up to him and the punches began to connect. Hard.

Joshua knocked Paul down two times in the fifth round and knocked him down two times in the sixth round. That included the knockout blow.

“Yeah, I was doing good,’’ Paul said before addressing what went wrong. “I just think my cardio, just the mental pressure of the big guy.’’

Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul said he felt good about his training camp and added, “But I just needed to have that extra level of cardio for this and that can only come from going to altitude.’’

The podcast was taped Saturday, Dec. 20, a few hours after Paul had surgery on his jaw, said his mother, Pam, who was on the podcast. Paul looked dazed during his appearance but talked in detail about the fight.

During training camp, Paul sparred with heavyweights. But during the fight, Paul and Joshua wore 10-ounce gloves – considerably smaller than the gloves worn during sparring.

“So I was feeling his power a lot more,’’ Paul said of Joshua. “…. I learned a lot, and I see where I could have done better. I’m a little disappointed, but I also know how good he is.’’

Toward the end of his app;earance, Paul also reiterated his intent to continue boxing but provided no timeable for his return.

Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis Struggles to Sell Tickets Weeks Away From Boxing Match

I’m flying in and destroying Gerv,” or “Welcome to the jungle.” These are just some of the messages Jake Paul posts on X. The YouTuber-turned-boxer, now a cruiserweight contender, is gearing up for a clash with lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. Well, it’s an exhibition. To distinguish the ten-round non-professional format, now dubbed a ‘hybrid-pro,’ Paul has been hyping it up as he usually does with his matchups. He even broke new ground by releasing a KO bonus, removing any notion of a friendly fight.

But despite beating the drum, the fight at the Kaseya Center appears to be falling short of expectations. As the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The latest figures, purportedly showing the number of tickets sold for the November 14 Netflix-MVP card, suggest fans aren’t as enthused by the Jake Paul-Gervonta Davis bout—a stark contrast to the duo’s previous fights, which reportedly broke gate records.

Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis: Early ticket trouble or calm before the surge?

The boxing ticket account @BoxingTixs shared a few details about the Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis fight on X. “MVP Presents: Jake vs. Tank. Fri • Nov 14, 2025 • 5:00 PM, Kaseya Center, Miami, FL. Since Oct 4th, Tickets Listed: 6255 (📉 by 759), Value of Listed: $3,859,330 (📉 by $2,243,910).”

Basically, it listed cumulative data from October 4th onwards. It indicates that 6,255 tickets are currently available for resale on secondary markets, valued at around $3.86 million. However, the numbers have dropped by 759 tickets, a decrease of $2.24 million in value since the last update. It means ticket prices have fallen significantly.

According to trade pundits, such a drop often occurs when sellers lower prices aggressively to move tickets. Some plausible reasons include lower demand and fewer fans willing to pay premium prices. Or, the market adjusts closer to the event date, with sellers cutting prices if tickets aren’t selling.

The reactions from a few followers underscored the sentiment.

The Gate Kings: Paul and Tank

If one wrote, “Wow, those are struggling,” then another minced no words, saying, “Those clowns and the event in 3 weeks 🤡.” Still, it’s too early to draw conclusions. The fight may have solid interest, but not the kind of full-blown frenzy seen in previous bouts.

On the bright side, fewer tickets listed but lower prices could be a good opportunity for fans to grab seats cheaper than face value.

For context, last November, Jake Paul fought Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium. While the Netflix-streamed bout reached over 60 million viewers, the gate revenue cemented Paul’s status as one of modern boxing’s biggest draws. Nearly 72,000 spectators generated $18,117,072 in revenue, breaking the venue’s record for the highest-grossing combat sports gate.

His next fight at the Honda Center, against former champion Julio Cesar Chavez, also performed well, generating $1.57 million. The highest gate for the California-based venue. Gervonta Davis hasn’t been far behind. His March 1 bout against Lamont Roach Jr. broke a Barclays Center record, drawing over 16,000 spectators and raising more than $6.5 million in gate revenue.

Considering these recent feats, the latest ticket numbers for Paul vs. Davis may concern some observers. However, as fight night approaches, curiosity may surge, potentially boosting sales.

The Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis Fight Could Be Transformed by the Power of Artificial Intelligence

The Florida State Athletic Commission has released detailed rules for the Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis bout that will take place on November 14 and be broadcast on Netflix.

The fight announcement took fans by surprise, mainly due to the significant size difference between the two opponents. Paul’s last fight was at cruiserweight, while Davis is the WBA lightweight champion. ‘The Problem Child’, 6’1″, also holds an 8 inch height advantage over ‘Tank’ Davis.

The fight was initially set for Atlanta, Georgia, however, was later shifted to Florida following the previous commission refusing to sanction it. The fight poster, meanwhile, is inspired by GTA VI. Paul’s marketing genius has once again been on display and more rules for the Davis bout have now come to light.Commission reveals Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis rules

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the fight is that Paul vs Davis will have two human judges and one AI judge for the bout.

The bout will consist of 10 rounds, each lasting three minutes. While it’s an exhibition, TKO and KO will still be in play. In a statement, the Florida State Athletic Commission revealed:

Anthony Joshua

The Florida Athletic Commission confirms that this event has been sanctioned as an exhibition. The match will be logged in the national registry as an exhibition, and it will not count toward either athlete’s professional record.”

The Commission added, “The exhibition will classify knockouts and technical knockouts as fight-ending in the same manner as professional contests. The Florida Athletic Commission remains committed to transparency, regulatory compliance, and the continued safe advancement of combative sports in Florida.”

AI judging is definitely something new and adds another unique talking point to the already hyped Paul vs Davis bout. ‘The Problem Child’ never fails to grab eyeballs, despite fans remaining skeptical of the merit of his opponents so far. ‘Tank’ Davis, meanwhile, is one of boxing’s most notable superstars and it’s always fireworks when he’s in action.

Terence Crawford

Paul knows how to hype a fight up and he has been doing so through relentless trash talk for the ‘Tank’ Davis showdown. Paul isn’t pulling any punches and the YouTuber turned pro-boxer told Netflix:

His nickname might be Tank, but I’m an FPV drone, and I’m about to disable his ass. Yes, he is one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds. And I like my odds.

Gervonta davis : Jake Paul‘s fights have become synonymous with spectacle, always with controversy assured, and the clash against Gervonta Davisis no exception

Among the different voices that have given their prediction and opinion on the fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, former boxer Tim Bradley recently did not hesitate to say that it will be an uneven fight, where the undefeated champion will end up “erasing” the influencer turned boxer.

Tim Bradley predicts crushing victory for Gervonta Davis

Tim Bradley, former world champion and now analyst, made statements that quickly set social networks on fire, because, in his view, the difference in talent between Davis and Paul is abysmal:

“It’s like a bee and an elephant. Jake is big, but the bee is going to scare him and make him run,”Bradley commented on his channel, referring to the speed and accuracy of “Tank” Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) against a much larger Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs), but with less technical resources and experience.

In addition, Bradley called Paul a “leech“, claiming that he has used his fame on social media to generate millions in boxing without the need to win titles.

Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis prediction

Although Bradley assures that the result is practically written, the background indicates that Jake Paul is not a simple opponent. In addition, Davis already suffered when he faced taller and stronger opponents, as happened against Mario Barrios in 2021. In that fight, Floyd Mayweather Jr. himself had to motivate his pupil, reminding him that he was at a disadvantage. Finally, Tank reacted and achieved a knockout in the 11th round, demonstrating his great resilience and technique to succeed in unfavorable moments.

On this occasion, Jake Paul not only has greater height and reach, but he will also be using 10-ounce gloves, which could increase the danger of his punching

When and where to watch the Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis fight?

The event will take place on November 14, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami. As for the broadcast, it will be exclusively through the streaming platform Netflix.

This is a fight that promises a great show, and everything points to it being another success for Jake Paul, even if he loses, as he has managed to turn his name into a profitable business.

Since 2023, the influencer has generated around $83.6 million in earnings. If he keeps up that pace, in less than a decade he could accumulate more than half a billion without the need to conquer world belts, which is why he generates so much discomfort among traditional boxing figures such as Bradley.

Jake Paul Declares War on Gervonta Davis – Vows to Create the Knockout EVERYONE Will Be Talking About

Jake Paul will meet Gervonta Davis in an exhibition over 10 three-minute rounds with the weight capped at 195lbs; fighters will use 12oz gloves and a winner will be announced; Paul wants “another most viral knockout ever”

The conditions have been set for Jake Paul’s exhibition with Gervonta Davis in Miami.

A winner will be announced and they will use the larger 12oz gloves. The exhibition, at Florida’s Kaseya Center on November 14, will take place over 10 three-minute rounds and the weight for the encounter will be capped at 195lbs.

There is still a huge disparity in size: although Paul is essentially a novice professional and Davis a quality world champion, the latter operates at lightweight and Paul all the way up at cruiserweight.

Nakisa Bidarian, the co-founder of MVP with Jake Paul, said: “There will be a victor because the fighters have agreed and the commission has approved a maximum weight of 195lbs for this exhibition.

“The fight will be contested over 10 three-minute rounds, and when Tank and Jake enter the squared circle to go to battle, they will be wearing 12oz gloves.

“Sitting ringside will be three commission-approved world-class professional judges that will score every round to ensure there’s a decisive outcome for the fight if it goes the distance. And both men are enrolled in the highest level of testing with USADA.”

At their first face-off ahead of the event, Paul declared he would use his size advantage and press for a knockout.
“I think there’s a lot of holes in his defence that a lot of people haven’t exposed before,” Paul said at their first press conference. “I haven’t got a knockout in a long time, so I’m itching. I’m just excited to be able to deliver that for the fans and have another most viral knockout ever.”

Their exhibition is an unusual mash-up of personalities, size and different experience. Paul explained: “He’s the only other biggest name in America, in terms of boxing, so it only makes sense to fight. It’s a challenge for me. It’s a step up in my career.

“He’s making me push myself to my limits. I’m more locked in than ever but at the end of the day I know I’m going be able to come out on top and outbox the guy who’s been doing it for seven times as long as me.”

Davis added of his decision to take part in this event. “We’re just giving boxing what it needs, and that’s excitement.

“This is a good thing, both of us fighting. We come from two different sides of the world, and we still on the same path to get the same thing.

“I think it’s going to be a great event. Every time I fight, it’s fireworks. Jake Paul coming in; he’s much bigger, he’s much stronger.

“I’m much quicker than him. He’s much stronger and much bigger, but we all know that it’s harder for taller fighters to fight a shorter one,” Davis added.

“He’s decent and he’s going to hold up for a couple of rounds – but once it gets hot in there, you know how things play out.”

Paul dismissed criticism for taking on an opponent so much smaller than him. “People always have something to say. It’s old news. Keep talking. At the end of the day, you’re here. So whatever anyone has to say, just keep on saying it. Please. It doesn’t matter at all,” Paul said.

He claimed: “They’ll never give me credit until I have a world championship belt. But that’s okay, it doesn’t matter, belts collect dust, and what I’ve done in the sport is unprecedented.”

“This Can’t Be Real!” – After Gervonta Davis Reacts to Jake Paul’s Controversial Weight

The official rules for Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis’ exhibition bout have been announced, but one of them took the latter by surprise.

Davis and Paul are set to square off on November 14 at Miami’s Kaseya Center in a 195lbs catchweight exhibition bout.

There had been considerable speculation about the weight Paul and Davis would compete at, given the size difference between the pair.

Paul, a natural cruiserweight (200lbs), has competed as high as 227lbs for a heavyweight bout with Mike Tyson last November.

Meanwhile, Davis, the reigning WBA lightweight champion (135lbs), has never boxed above super lightweight (140lbs).

The official rules for the bout were announced at their launch press conference on Monday by Paul’s business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, and Davis looked stunned when the weight was announced.

“Y’all said it was 190[lbs],” said Davis.

Bidarian replied: “The fight is 195lbs as you know.”

The Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) chief then went on to confirm that the bout will take place over 10, 3-minute rounds and that they will duke it out in 12oz gloves rather than the usual 10oz ones donned by pros.

Anthony Joshua

While Paul vs Davis is officially an exhibition bout and therefore the result won’t show up on either of their professional records, a decision will be reached by three judges selected by the Florida Athletic Commission if the crossover clash goes the distance.

Why did Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis change location?

Paul’s promotional outfit, MVP, had initially planned to hold the event in Atlanta, Georgia.

Eddie Hearn Says Jake Paul Could Be Sacrificing Anthony Joshua Fight by Taking Gervonta Davis Exhibition

Jake Paul is risking a fight with Anthony Joshua when he meets Gervonta Davis in their exhibition bout, warns promoter Eddie Hearn.

Hearn, who represents Joshua, revealed a possible bout between AJ and social media superstar Paul is still being discussed.

It is a dizzying combination of high-profile names from widely varying weight classes.

Davis is a formidable world champion, but he fights at lightweight, Joshua is a former two-time undisputed world titlist all the way up at heavyweight and Paul, essentially a novice professional boxer, has competed at 200lb (cruiserweight) barring one outing at heavyweight.

But that came against a 58-year-old and long-retired Mike Tyson.

“It’s such a huge size difference [between Paul and Davis]. Who knows?” Hearn told Sky Sports.

“They’ve come on to me and said we want to make that fight [with AJ]. I said I can’t make that fight until you’ve fought Gervonta Davis in this exhibition.

“If you get chinned by Gervonta Davis, don’t think you’re fighting Anthony Joshua, it’s ridiculous. So we’d rather they didn’t take that fight if we’re going to make the [AJ] fight.”

He added: “We’re certainly not holding out for a Jake Paul fight. We’re making our own plans and that will be January, February 2026.”

Gervonta Davis

Joshua took to social media last week to launch a verbal tirade at heavyweight rival Tyson Fury. Joshua and Fury have circled one another throughout their professional careers but are yet to box.

Joshua is still hoping Fury will come out of retirement so they can stage an all-British heavyweight blockbuster. But first Joshua must rebuild from last year’s knockout loss to Daniel Dubois.

“Now he’s back in training and my conversations over the last couple of weeks have been very positive with him about locking in a date and returning. Then I saw that post [directed at Fury]. When AJ posts something like that, you know that he’s on,” Hearn said.

“He’s like ‘let’s go, I’m back’ and that’s where we’re up to. So the next move is to lock in that fight in early 2026 and then we want Tyson Fury.

“We expect Fury to have another fight as well, if he’s going to fight AJ. There haven’t really been any conversations. The kind of vibe I’m getting from the team is ‘we’re confident it will happen’. But until we start talking, who knows?

“We’re not just putting all our eggs in one basket to say it’s Tyson Fury because before that we’re going to have another fight and we’ve got to win that one first.”

On the Edge of Reality: Joshua-Paul Clash Hangs in the Balance After Initial Talks

LONDON, England — The “mental, crazy and dangerous” heavyweight fight between two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and 13-fight novice Jake Paul has a “50/50” chance of happening, according to promoter Eddie Hearn.
The Matchroom boss, Joshua’s promoter for his entire professional career, had exploratory talks with Nakisa Bidarian about the fight on Wednesday and is convinced Paul is serious about his desire to fight AJ.
Ever since he kicked off his boxing career, the former You Tuber has always hit the headlines by calling out the sport’s biggest names, promising to one day beat Canelo Alvarez to become world champion.
But Paul is now thinking even bigger than that and has recently set his sights on 6ft 6in Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) former world champion and 2012 Olympic gold medalist, who boasts knockout victories over Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin and Kubrat Pulev.

However, with the Tyson Fury fight that Joshua so desperately craves seemingly in danger of never happening, his team have been approached about a number of different potential fights. One of them is Paul and Hearn says the idea has legs following his call with Paul’s business partner.oleksandr usyk
“This is very real,” Hearn said when asked by The Ring about Joshua-Paul.
I had a good chat for about an hour with Nakisa on [July 30] and now I believe they want the fight. I really do.
“Nakisa was very honest and he’s concerned about the fight, but Jake truly believes he can win the fight or at least be competitive in it.
“And now because of the size of the fight, it leads me to believe there’s a very good chance it could happen. If I had to rate that chance I would say it’s 50:50. It was a very positive conversation and we expect that conversation to extend over the coming weeks.

“If they really want it, it will happen.”

Paul, 28, was last in action in June when he claimed a unanimous decision against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. after 10 rounds at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Before that he had beaten 59-year-old Mike Tyson over eight-twos in November.

Joshua, meanwhile, has been out of action since he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September last year in his bid to become a three-time heavyweight champion. That night, he weighed just over 252lbs, while Paul was just under 200lbs for his fight with Chavez.
But Hearn says Paul will look to pack on the pounds for what would be his first fight at heavyweight.
Deontay wilder
“There wouldn’t be such a huge difference,” Hearn said. “Jake would be a heavyweight on the night.
“But, look, I can’t even necessarily justify it to you. It’s a mismatch in my opinion, it’s dangerous in my opinion but this is a guy, a cruiserweight who will be a heavyweight.
“I think Joshua is probably yet to get his head round it until he knows that it’s a possibility. After my call this week I’d say it’s definitely a possibility.
“AJ understands the commercial world and will look at this and see that it’s huge. It would probably be the biggest fight that could ever happen anywhere. It would be right up there with his biggest purses ever. You can talk about the boxing world but this would be the outer world.”
Hearn also believes that the nature of the potential beating that Paul is facing could “evaporate” him from the boxing world a little over five years into his fighting career.
He added: “I said to Nakisa the other day that this is about the fear factor. This is dangerous. This is like tuning in to watch David Blaine but much more dangerous and much more real. You’re not trying to escape from a box in three minutes, you’re in there with one of the biggest punchers of all time and it isn’t a game.

Eddie Hearn Teases Shocking Debate Talks: Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul ‘Mismatch’ Fight in Discussion

An Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul fight is now more of a possibility than ever before.

Ever since the post-fight callout from ‘The Problem Child’, it has split opinion in the boxing world, but fighters like cruiserweight prospect Viddal Riley want AJ v Paul next.

Joshua is still plotting his return to the ring this year after his loss last September to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium

While the 35-year-old’s trainer broke his silence on the fight, his promoter has now had discussions with ‘El Gallo’s’ promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, on the likelihood of making the contest.

Early Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul ‘mismatch’ discussions have taken place, confirms Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn, in an interview with IFL TV, confirmed that he has had a talk with Nakisa Badirian of MVP over the logistics of a mega-fight between their money fighters.

While maintaining caution on concrete promises, he said: “Yes, I had close to an hour with Nakisa earlier this week… We kind of went through the contractual points, and there aren’t really any major barriers to make this fight.

“I want to make this clear, I am not calling for this, or we are targeting this fight.”

However, Hearn gave his thoughts on the proposed contest itself and the belief of the American.

“I think the fight is a mismatch, I think AJ destroys him, but if Jake Paul wants this fight and he is serious, then the fight will happen,” he said.

“This really comes down to Jake’s beliefs slash delusions. I said to Nakisa, ‘This is dangerous’.”

Anthony Joshua has only lost to one opponent around Jake Paul’s weight

While he has competed as a cruiserweight throughout the majority of his career, the influencer famously fought heavyweight icon Mike Tyson in the glamour division of the sport.

Joshua, though, has had some great successes when facing eight opponents around the 220-230 lb mark, with seven stoppage wins, including a signature victory over Alexander Povetkin.

However, he has faced defeat to Oleksandr Usyk twice, who was within the weight but, it has to be said, Paul is not at the skills level of the Ukrainian magician.

What the weight does show, though, is the ability to take a shot; most of the aforementioned opponents, besides Povetkin and Usyk, didn’t make it past the third round.

So, for a novice like the former Disney Channel star, who hasn’t tasted real heavyweight power, it could be a very difficult night in the ring.
