Anthony Joshua’s Comeback Explodes with Shocking Twist as Promoter Drops Date for Historic Fight
Anthony Joshua seems to be inching closer and closer to a return by the day, with the ex-champion now closing in on a specific date for a comeback.
Sidelined from action since last year, Anthony Joshua has been linked with all sorts of opponents in recent weeks, as he plans a return to the ring as soon as 2026
And with the likes of Tyson Fury floated for the Watford favorite in a hiatus-snapping return of his own, Joshua is now lined up for a definitive date.
If the return in question comes to fruition, too, it would mark a debut outing for Joshua in a certain region for the first time in his decorated heavyweight career.

As well as pairing with Fury, Joshua has also been urged to fight the likes of Jake Paul — a bout he has missed out on for the time being, as well as a pairing with fellow Olympic gold medal winner Tony Yoka.
And following recent talks for a potential blockbuster outing in Africa as soon as next year, Joshua’s long-time promoter, Matchroom Boxing leader Eddie Hearn, revealed the former two-time champion is gearing up for a return in February.
“Yeah, I’d love him (Anthony Joshua) to [fight in Africa],” Hearn told IFL TV. “[In] February. I think it would be amazing. Yeah, Ghana. In Accra.”
Notably, a debut outing in Africa for Joshua would see the megastar fight in the UK, North America, and the Middle East throughout his illustrious career in the ring.

Staking his claim for a grudge match with former WBC heavyweight gold holder Fury in his immediate return to the ring, Joshua has long been linked with an all-British pairing with the Morecambe superstar.
However, as far as Hearn is concerned, the Watford star is likely set to receive a warm-up fight of sorts in his immediate return.
Staking his claim for a shot at Fury in his first venture to the ring since his loss to Daniel Dubois, former titleholder Joshua issued a scathing call-out to the former champion.
