Terence Crawford Declares Bold Ambition, “I’m Ready to Become Boxing’s Next Global Superstar”

Undefeated WBO jr welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (28-0, 20 KOs), of Omaha, Nebraska, will have his toughest test when he takes on undefeated WBC champion “The Ice Man” Viktor Postol (28-0, 12 KOs) of Kiev, Ukraine, in a unification bout on July 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas live on HBO Pay-Per-View.

“It’s going to be big. I’m going in there and putting on a spectacular show and showing everybody that I belong here,” Crawford told Fightnews.com®. “I have to make a statement on July 23rd.”

Crawford will be training for the fight in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska under the watchful eye of his longtime trainer Brian “BoMac” McIntyre.

Coming off a devastating knockout over Hank Lundy this past February in New York City, Crawford was impressive in defending his WBO title for the second time. Last year saw Crawford score knockouts against Thomas Dulorme in April, as he won the vacant WBO super lightweight title. and in October when he stopped Dierry Jean in his first title defense.

Since coming to the United States Postol has been 4-0 with 3 KOs. He won the WBC world title with an impressive tenth round knockout over the tough Lucas Matthysse last October. “I feel Matthysse gave up because he was frustrated. It wasn’t because he hurt him with a punch, it was because Matthysse was tired. Postol was holding, elbowing, his jab was irritating him every time Matthysse would get in. There was more frustration than hurt,” Crawford said.Anthony joshua

“Postol’s style is more European,” he continued. “Straight right, jab, clinch, hold, elbows here and there, but there is nothing he’ll be able to do come fight night to keep me from taking that belt. I’ve seen a lot in my time of boxing on this level. I feel I will do real well!”

A win over Postol would open a new chapter in Terance Crawford’s career. “This is just the beginning. It’s my first pay-per-view and I want to put on a great performance. I want to be the next superstar,” Crawford said.

For years Nebraska has been known for its strong college football tradition in Lincoln, Nebraska about 50 miles south of Omaha, for hosting the NCAA College Baseball World Series in Omaha, and the home of American businessman philanthropist Warren Buffet. Since his 2014 homecoming knockout win over previously undefeated Yuriorkis Gamboa, Crawford has become the pride of Omaha, Nebraska.

“When you talk Omaha, you talk Terence Crawford if you aren’t talking Warren Buffet,” Crawford said. “When I fought in Omaha against Gamboa everyone was like, WOW! This is what we have been waiting on!”

Crawford expects a large number of his hometown fans to make the trek to Vegas for the Postol fight. “They will show up and chill out. A lot of people are coming to show their support,” Crawford said.

On July 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, it will be champion vs. champion.

“When I look at this fight, I look at it as #1 vs. #2, the best in the division, two undefeated fighters,” Crawford said. “I’m not thinking of who I want to fight next. Who I got in front of me now is Viktor Postol. Come fight night, we’re waiting for the victory!”

Anthony Joshua Finally Breaks Silence, Delivers Explosive Announcement on His Epic Boxing Comeback Date

Anthony Joshua has confirmed that he will return to action at the end of 2025 ending speculation on when his ring comeback may take place.

Last September, Joshua tried to become world champion for a third tome when he collided with Daniel Dubois at a sold-out Wembley Stadium .

Joshua entered the contest a huge favourite, but his dreams were ultimately shattered as he was dropped four times before being counted out in the fifth session.

Despite the loss, Joshua soon turned his attention to the undisputed heavyweight title rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk last December as a showdown between him and Fury appeared to be a real possibility.

This has left Joshua to explore other option with Deontay Wilder and a rematch with Dubois both mentioned for the former champion.

Despite no opponent being announced, Joshua has now confirmed that he will fght before 2025 is over.

“December I will fight again,” said Joshua when speaking to  ESPN Mexico .

“That’s when I want to fight again, I’ll take some time, and I will go in December. I just want to get my body feeling good and then I’ll fight. It’s a simple job.”

The Gypsy King “Fury” set for huge unexpected windfall as local club Morecambe FC face ‘extinction’

Tyson Fury is set for a huge windfall amid Morecambe’s dire financial situation as they are on the brink of extinction.

Tyson Fury: Morecambe are in heaps of trouble after they were hit with a number of sanctions for failing to meet the financial regulations for the 2025/26 season.

In a statement, the National League side said: “It was decided further sanctions must be imposed, with the club’s membership to be suspended with immediate effect.

“The committee will meet again on Wednesday, August 20 to determine if outstanding items have been satisfied, and to decide the club’s ability to retain membership in the competition.”

Fury, who lives in Morecambe with his family, has been urged to step in and intervene to prevent his local football club from closure.

He broke his silence on Tuesday with a social media post after receiving calls to help out given his wealth.

Fury has earned millions from his legendary boxing career, including a staggering purse for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.

He called time on his career shortly after suffering his second consecutive defeat but has flirted with the idea of returning to the ring.

Fury’s not short of cash, having received a series of big paydays and his bank balance is set to increase after putting his mansion up for sale.

He is set to cash in on his luxury six-bedroom home as it hits the market for a massive amount more than he bought it for.

The Lancaster mansion has gone up for sale with Fine & Country estate agents for £800,000, which was brought for £480,000 in 2015, according to Rightmove records.

Per the listing, number 49 Marine Drive is being ‘strongly recommended to discerning purchases’.

The detached property is situated in a prime position with a panoramic coastal views and picturesque sunsets, which can be seen from the master bedroom’s private balcony.

It boasts six bedrooms and three bathrooms, not to mention ‘neatly kept’ private gardens including a large seating terrace and a private driveway.

I Do Respect World Champion’s ‘Power And Skill’ But ‘Dislikes Everything About Him’

Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford is undeniably one of the very best active fighters on the planet.

Terence Crawford: The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska has achieved more than many fighters dream of since making his professional debut back in March 2008, including winning world titles across four weight divisions and the undisputed championship at both super lightweight and welterweight.

As he prepares to return to the ring in a mega-fight against Mexican superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez later this year, ‘Bud’ has sent a message out to a reigning world champion that he claims is ‘arrogant’.

Speaking on the Cigar Talk Podcast, Crawford addressed his feelings towards WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, admitting he ‘doesn’t like’ the 30-year-old from Baltimore.

“I just really don’t like that dude, like I really don’t like him. I don’t like nothing about him. I just feel like, you know, he’s just one of these arrogant little dudes that’s using what he got to shield him, he got a lot of security guards around him and he know, you know what I mean, he in the limelight and stuff like that but in certain situations he wouldn’t be acting like that.”

‘Bud’ was then asked if he respects Davis as a fighter.

“Yeah, yeah he’s a damn good fighter, you know I mean I respect him as a fighter, he definitely got skills, he got power, he got tremendous boxing ability but like his core personality and his ways, nah.”

A potential showdown between the American stars looks unlikely to happen any time soon, based on the current weight gap that separates both. Crawford’s last outing came at 154lbs last August, with his showdown against Canelo set to take place at 168lbs. The highest weight division that ‘Tank’ has fought in is super lightweight, although the majority of his career success has come at lightweight.

British Boxing Star Anthony Joshua Plotting Shocking Switch to Premier League Power Play”

British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua is teaming up with long-time promoter Eddie Hearn to launch a football agency, his latest step into the world of sports business.

The development was confirmed by Hearn in a recent interview with IFL TV, where he revealed that they are exploring opportunities in football representation alongside Matchroom Boxing CEO, Frank Smith.

“Collectively, we could form a very powerful football agency,” Hearn said.

Though still in its early stages, the agency has reportedly begun attracting attention from Premier League players and other professionals across top leagues.

The idea of venturing into football agency was first hinted at in 2020 during an interview with GQ, where Joshua and Hearn discussed plans beyond boxing. The conversation resurfaced recently after Joshua posted on Instagram, urging Hearn to “talk more” about the possible collaboration.

Joshua already made his first move into football in 2024, when he signed England international Chloe Kelly to his 258 MGT agency, making her the first professional footballer to join the roster.

While Eddie Hearn’s family has a football background, his father, Barry Hearn, was the owner of Leyton Orient for nearly 20 years, this would be the first official football agency venture for both Hearn and Joshua.

The agency project follows Joshua’s growing interest in football, though no official confirmation has been made about ownership or investment in any football club.

Joshua’s 258 MGT currently manages several athletes across boxing and other sports, and the potential expansion into football signals a broader business vision from the former two-time heavyweight world champion.

“We Should Have Fought” Gervonta Davis Reveals His Ultimate Dream Match

Gervonta Davis always makes headlines when he has a microphone in his hand, and this time was no exception. The boxer was a guest on ‘A Safe Place Podcast’, where he talked about everything and, as usual, Gervonta did not hold back and had no filter in giving his opinions

His use of social media, especially X, is somewhat controversial as he even messes with the haters who attack him on Elon Musk’s social network. He is quite a character, but in the ring he is one of the best in the world, that cannot be debated

The famous rapper Lil Yachty was very blunt in questioning Gervonta about whether his upcoming fight with Lamont Roach would be the last of his career.

The boxer left a response that reassured those familiar with the sport:

“I have more plans. Definitely some more heads on the wall,” Gervonta commented

Without a doubt, this will give his fans peace of mind, as he always threatens with the idea of hanging up his gloves and not returning.

‘Tank is sorry’

Gervonta Davis did not hide that he is very happy with his career, but he has a thorn in his side, because he wanted that fight no matter what.

“In the back of my mind. I was like, ‘Damn, he was a fighter that I was supposed to fight. Or I was asked to fight,'” said Gervonta.

Gervonta davis

Who is he talking about? ‘Tank’ refers to Vasyl Lomachenko. Last year they were very close to closing negotiations for that fight, but everything went downhill once the Ukrainian decided to pause his career

However, Davis does not endorse those who criticized Lomachenko for not accepting the proposal and is very sure that it is not about ‘fear‘:

“I felt like he didn’t like people saying he was scared or something like that. I thought I don’t think that’s the case,” the Baltimore boxer said

In this case, ‘Tank’ is on the Ukrainian’s side in thinking more about his family: “Now he’s older and has kids. Now it’s more about the kids. I feel like, you know, all that energy. I mean, we still want to make money, but now 80% is about the kids,” he said

Gervonta davis

On the other hand, a retirement for Loma would be very close according to his ideas, he placed December 2024 as his date to stop being a professional boxer, for now he still does not speak out and only leaves intrigue to the world of boxing.

Amid Roach vs Davis Growing Doubt, Silence Breaked on  Rematch By Lamont Roach’s Daddy

Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach were expected to have their rematch on August 16. Their first fight back in March ended in a majority in a controversial contest where Davis took a deliberate knee but wasn’t penalized with a knockdown.

The fight marked the toughest of Davis’ career and was the first time he hadn’t won inside the ring. Fans have been keen to see how the rematch plays out. However, Davis was arrested on July 11 and is facing domestic violence charges. ‘Tank’ Davis has since disappeared from the public eye, including deactivating his social media.

The proposed rematch will no longer take place on August 16, and Roach’s father has now provided the latest update on when the fight could take place

Roach Sr has claimed that his son is staying ready as always and spending time in the gym. He told MillCity Boxing, “We still in the gym, staying ready. We are always in the gym, but we were in camp. But we are in the gym now, not particularly in camp.”

Gervonta davis

Roach Sr added that they confirmed in late July that the fight won’t take place in August. When asked whether there is any updates or a proposed later date, Roach Sr said:

Roach’s star peaked with his performance against Davis and fans are keen to see the rematch, but it looks uncertain. At this point, it won’t be surprising to see ‘The Reaper’ explore other options to stay active.

Shakur Stevenson has previously shown interest in fighting Roach. Speaking of what’s next, Roach Sr said. “You gotta see what’s out there, see what’s the best path. It ain’t always the next fight, it’s what’s after that sometimes as well.”

Before Davis vs Roach in March, many touted it as a cakewalk for ‘Tank’. While Davis held Roach in high regards, the majority believed that ‘Tank’ was trying to sell the fight. They were proven wrong once the opening bell rang.

Roach stood toe-to-toe and even landed some shots of his own, even wobbling Davis on occasions. The fight became an instant classic and one of the biggest events of the year.

Momentum Sparks As Billion-Dollar Brawl Incoming  Joshua-Paul Dream Clash Begins to Gain Thunderous Momentum

Due to lack of opportunities, accept what comes,” that’s how it has been put to Anthony Joshua, who sought a fight with real contenders such as Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, even Joseph Parker. However, all the top exponents are busy with their upcoming commitments, so the Briton is about to accept a “cardboard fight” against YouTuber Jake Paul. According to promoter Eddie Hearn, both fighters are available so “it’s halfway there.”

The “mental, crazy and dangerous” heavyweight fight between two-time world champion Anthony Joshua and 13-fight novice Jake Paul has great appeal for the Matchroom boss, who has promoted Joshua throughout his professional career, who has held previous talks about this possible fight with Nakisa Bidarian and is convinced that Paul is serious about his desire to face AJ.

However, with the fight against Tyson Fury that Joshua so desires seemingly in danger of never materialising, his team has been contacted about several possible fights. One of these is against Paul, and Hearn claims the idea has merit following his call with Paul’s business partner“This is very real. I had a good chat for about an hour with Nakisa on July 30 and now I think they really want the fight. I really do,” Hearn said.

Paul, 28, last fought in June, when he earned a unanimous decision against former WBC middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. over 10 rounds at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Before that, he had beaten 59-year-old veteran Mike Tyson over eight two-minute rounds in November. “Nakisa was very honest and is worried about the fight, but Jake really believes he can win the fight or at least be competitive.”

Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua has not fought since he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in June last year, in his bid to become a three-time world heavyweight champion. That night, he weighed just over 252 pounds, while Paul weighed just under 200 pounds in his fight against Chavez. Due to the magnitude of the fight, there is a very good chance it will happen. Talks have begun and for Eddie Hearns it was a very positive conversation where he hopes it will continue in the coming weeks.

Expert Opinions Revealed Prediction: Who Comes Out on Top—Shields or Ali?

The fight isn’t even official. In fact, it may never materialize. But that didn’t keep five experts from responding when asked who would win the fight between the 30-year-old Shields and the 47-year-old Ali.

Both would climb into the ring with unblemished records. Shields is 17-0 with three knockouts and Ali was 24-0 with 21 knockouts when she retired in 2007.

“Honestly, a fight with me and Laila Ali would be one of the biggest fights in women’s boxing,’’ Shields told USA TODAY Sports last month. “I think we should do it for the culture. We should do it for the boxing culture. We should do it for so many to prove who is the best.”

Laila Ali vs Claressa Shields predictions

Christy Martin: Picks Laila Ali

Was knocked out by Ali in the fourth round of their fight in 2003. Elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2020. A biopic on Martin, starring Sydney Sweeney, is scheduled to be screened in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.

“Laila’s going to be too big, too strong, too smart,’’ Martin said. “She’s going to use her jab to set her right hand up and push Claressa back. And Shields can’t fight going backwards.

“I think that since Laila’s been probably relaxing and resting (during retirement), her body’s recovered from any damage that she had during her career. I think she’ll come back strong. She’s still under 50 and Laila’s not going to come back unless she’s 100% confident and ready to come back. And if she’s 100% ready and confident, she wins.’’

Kathy Duva: Picks Claressa Shields

A boxing promoter who is the CEO of Main Events. Elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2019.

“Laila did a lot for women’s boxing,’’ Duva said. “She’s an icon. But in her prime, in my opinion, she simply wasn’t as good as Shields is now. So now she’s 47 and hasn’t fought in 18 years.

“Her advantage is taller than Shields, and that’s about it. Tall isn’t much of an advantage if your opponent knows how to neutralize it. And Shields does. Add in Laila’s age and inactivity. The fight is great marketing. And I hope both women make lots of money. But it is based purely on wishful thinking and is not remotely competitive.’’

Gervonta davis

Mary Jo Sanders: Favors Shields

A retired boxer who won world titles in four divisions between 2005 and 2007. Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June.

“Their styles are very different,’’ Sanders said. “I mean, Claressa’s a brawler and Laila is more of a boxer. I do want (Shields) to finesse more because I feel like Laila has those straighter punches that could get into Clarissa’s wider haymakers and coming in with aggression.

“But one punch, I’ve seen these girls take one punch from Claressa. They’re like, ‘Oh, she is a beast. She is strong. She’s a fricking Clydesdale.’

“But if Laila can finesse her and get her flustered and off her game, then she’s got those straight punches. So if Claressa can prepare for that and her team knows that, then it’ll be wonderful.’’

In 2012, became the first woman coach on the U.S. Olympic boxing team and worked with Shields. She also trained retired champion boxers Andre Ward and Jermain Taylor.

She noted the age difference between Shields and Ali.

“Carissa has power, she has speed,’’ Thornton-Peak said. “She comes at you hard and fast, and if you are not used to having those kind of punches come at you, you are going to easily be overwhelmed by it.

“I think in order to beat her, you got to be able to match that output that she has of throwing punches, and you also need to have some of the power she has.

“I think (Shields’) chances are very good because so far I have not seen anybody who could really match that output she has and throwing those fast flurry punches, that pressure. I haven’t seen anybody really be able to handle that.’’

Terence Crawford

“The facts are the facts,’’ he said. “Laila Ali is a completely seasoned animal when it comes to fighting. Laila does not play. She hits really hard for real. Claressa has three knockouts. Laila, out of her 24 fights only allowed three people not to get knocked out. Laila hits for real, and Clarissa doesn’t.

“Laila Ali is way, way more skilled than Claressa. She comes from the science of boxing. And what did her dad use? The jab. Claressa don’t have no jab, and Clarissa got to try to come inside. Laila going to hit her with the jab all day long. Laila has fast hands, and Claressa don’t have no power. The only thing that Claressa has is her youth going forward with Laiyla.

Gervonta Davis: There Are Common Chances of beating Shakur Stevenson rated in bold prediction

Shakur Stevenson’s chances of beating Gervonta Davis have been brutally played down.

Stevenson was able to stop late replacement and part-time electrician Josh Padley in a hard-fought win in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in his most recent fight.

The American continues to eye a mega-fight with boxing superstar Davis, who is in action this coming weekend in a showdown with Lamont Roach in Brooklyn.

Gervonta Davis has refused to commit to a showdown with Stevenson so far, and has even suggested he could retire from the sport in 2025.

Despite the doubts over the fight materialising, the pair continue to get thrust together given their unique clash of styles.

He said: “Stevenson has that safety first approach, the one that works for a boxing purist.

“But the one he hasn’t got is that punching power. He has got that Mayweather kind of safety-first style.
