“In spite of Gervonta Davis’ legal complications, a bout with Shakur Stevenson is reportedly still being planned.”

Boxer Gervonta Davis is facing a sporting hiatus to deal with his legal troubles. However, promoter Eddie Hearn wants the famous “Tank’s” next fight to be against Shakur Stevenson, although he is not sure if this fight can take place. Even his next fight against Lamont Roach Jr in August is in doubt as to whether it will take place.

Eddie Hearn has a Plan B where if Tank can’t face Stevenson, the promoter can choose between the winners of Andy Cruz against Raymond Muratalla or the winner of Abdullah Mason against Sam Noakes. Hearn still needs to re-sign Stevenson, as his two-fight contract with Matchroom expired with his fight last Saturday night against William Zepeda in Queens, New York.

Shakur Stevenson, a boxer to Eddie Hearn’s liking

For the promoter, it is clear that the trial contract is about to expire so he intends to draw up a new one, but now on a long-term basis. “He has had two fights. We will now talk about an extension with Matchroom. Hopefully we can continue that relationship. We would love to. We have to reach a proper agreement for the fight. I think we can achieve it”, said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV about his desire to renew Shakur Stevenson’s contract.

The petro-dollars are on Hearn’s side, who has the support of Turki Alalshikh, the Arab sheikh and boxing promoter, where he can arrange the fight between Gervonta Davis and Shakur. Only then will the fight be finalized. Tank Davis will want a similar salary to Turki’s, and Hearn could not afford it. The two fights Shakur had with Matchroom were against William Zepeda and Josh Padley. It is worth noting that Hearn did not make the most of the two-fight deal with Shakur because the fight with Floyd Schofield was canceled last February.

Sam Noakes will fight Abdullah Mason for the vacant WBO lightweight title. Andy Cruz will fight Muratalla for the IBF title. Opportunities will arise there. “He will be very difficult to beat,” Hearn said of Shakur. Perhaps Hearn is overdoing it with his praise of Stevenson. Last night’s fight between Stevenson and William Zepeda was one of the toughest of Stevenson’s career. Even running, he suffered because of Zepeda’s pressure.

Gervonta davis

It’s easy to think of that fight and assume that it will be much more difficult for Shakur if he decides to fight the heavyweights, Andy Cruz, Raymond Muratalla or Abdullah Mason. Cruz’s power, speed and technique would be a nightmare for Shakur. Tank Davis still has a rematch with Lamont Roach, scheduled for August 16. However, the fight has not been officially announced and it is questionable whether it will take place on that date. If it is delayed, Shakur will have to look for another option for his next fight. He can’t just wait for Davis.

Rematch Report: PBC Eyes New Dates for Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach Rematch, Targeting August 23 or 30 in Las Vegas

Gervonta Davis’ immediate rematch with Lamont Roach has been pushed back at least another week or two, perhaps longer.
The Ring learned Sunday that representatives for Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions were working over the weekend to determine if the second 12-round, 135-pound championship bout between Davis and Roach could be scheduled for Aug. 23 or 30 in Las Vegas.
PBC intended to hold their WBA lightweight championship rematch Aug. 16 in Las Vegas, but fighting on that date became increasingly unlikely even before Davis was arrested again Friday for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, the mother of two of his children, on June 15 in Doral, Florida.

The Ring reported two months ago that the Davis-Roach rematch would take place Aug. 16, but PBC never announced it for that date.
The Ring has also learned Davis, 30, had stopped training in Miami for approximately three weeks prior to his arrest Friday. It isn’t clear how yet another legal issue could impact his availability to fight next month and beyond.
Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs), of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is obligated to an immediate rematch with Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) because the Baltimore native exercised that contractual right after they fought to a surprising majority draw March 1 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Davis was heavily favored to win.

If Davis is either unable or unwilling to commit to their rematch within a reasonable period of time, however, Roach’s representatives could begin exploring other options for the WBA super featherweight champion’s next fight.
Gervonta davisHandlers for Davis, The Ring’s No. 1-ranked lightweight, and Roach, ranked No. 4 among The Ring’s junior lightweight contenders, first talked about scheduling their rematch for June 21 in Las Vegas. Davis reportedly wanted more time to train, though, which was when the targeted date moved to Aug. 16, four weeks from this Saturday.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya Sends Gervonta Davis Scathing Message For Domestic Violence Arrest

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya is tired of Gervonta “Tank” Davis’ antics after his most recent arrest.

On July 11, boxing superstar and WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, on charges of assault after an alleged domestic violence dispute with his ex-girlfriend.

The incident occurred on June 15, when Davis allegedly struck the woman (with whom he shares two children) on the back of the head and also slapped her in the face while she was removing the children from the back of Davis’ car.

The victim had a cut on her inner lip as a result of this altercation, and her mother, who appeared on the scene after she received a distraught text message from her daughter, had a phone recording where Davis could reportedly be seen throwing an object at his ex-girlfriend.

Davis was released on bail on Friday morning. And videos of him leaving the jail where he was being held have since gone viral on social media.

This isn’t the first time Davis has been connected to a domestic violence case, as he was arrested for allegedly striking a woman (presumably the same woman as this most recent incident) with a “closed hand type slap” in December 2022. However, these charges were ultimately dropped because the woman involved declined to press charges against Davis.

It seems that members of the boxing community are fed up with Davis’ actions. This was shown by comments that the legendary Oscar De La Hoya made when he was asked about Tank’s most recent arrest by Fight Hub TV on July 12.

“He did, huh? Again?” De La Hoya said when told about Davis’ arrest. “Look, I actually like Tank Davis. He’s a good kid, he’s a good fighter, a great fighter, actually. He’s one of my favorites.

“Just get your s*** together, man. That’s it. You don’t hit women, man,” he added.

Date, time, fight card & more info: How to watch Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2

There’s not long to go now until boxing’s undefeated king, Oleksandr Usyk, and Daniel Dubois officially go head-to-head on Saturday, 19th July in London, England. The iconic Wembley Stadium will play host to the match, which has been brewing ever since Usyk completed back-to-back wins against the ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury. But can Dubois make up for his defeat from when they last met?

Ukrainian fighter Usyk beat the Brit when they last met in 2023 in a ninth-round knockout, which was dominated by a controversial low-blow punch from Dubois. With that all behind, though, Dubois has a second opportunity to put his demons and ‘what ifs?’ behind as he gets another shot at beating the undisputed fighter who holds the WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC belts.

Dubois also comes into the fight with the IBF title that Usyk vacated last year, allowing both fighters to leave with more belts than they arrived with. Amidst the Usyk vs Dubois 2 fight buzz, Tyson Fury announced that he intends to reverse his decision to retire from the boxing ring to pursue a trilogy with Usyk.

But, back to the fights and there’s an exciting undercard, including two title fights on the schedule, including Lawrence Okolie’s latest bout at heavyweight as he defends his WBC silver heavyweight title against former world champ Kevin Lerena.

There’s one thing for certain: it’s going to take some doing, as Usyk is one of the greatest fighters to have graced the ring in our time, with the stats backing him up all the way. If that has got you excited to witness some boxing history, then you don’t want to miss any of the action from one of the biggest fights of 2025.

Let GOAL assist you with all the vital pre-fight info you require for Usyk vs Dubois, including info on when and where the event is taking place and how you can watch this year’s boxing blockbuster live.

‘He is 15 times better than, Former Daniel Dubois trainer’s interesting response to Tyson Fury callout

The former Daniel Dubois trainer, Shane McGuigan, has responded to Tyson Fury’s callout of the young heavyweight.

Dubois is preparing to face Oleksandr Usyk for the chance at becoming undisputed champion on July 19th.

Now, during Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight week, McGuigan was asked for his reaction to the comments about his former fighter.

In the interview, he said: “I mean, I don’t know if that is a true comment or not, let’s put it this way, Daniel Dubois is 15 times the fighter Francis Ngannou is.

“I know he might not have been up for it, but in terms of athleticism, that will to win, and he has got a boxing background, he is schooled, he is not like Ngannou.”

The 36-year-old famously won a narrow split decision over the former UFC champion in October 2023.

McGuigan explained: “Styles make fights, he is right, styles make fights in the sense he will cause Daniel a lot of problems, whether he can hold up to that punching power, I am not sure.

“And I think he definitely has the potential to beat Tyson, I don’t think Tyson is at his best anymore, Daniel Dubois is fresher.”

Oleksandr Usyk wants one more fight after Dubois, then retirement

It looks likely that the Ukrainian will hang up the gloves soon, but maybe he should retire after the Dubois clash.

However, this is not on the mind of the Olympic gold medallist just yet if he overcomes the Londoner.

Tyson fury

Speaking in an interview earlier this year, he said: “Now my goal is to become a three-time undisputed. Listen, I love boxing, training hard.

“I guess it’s my last two fights, with Dubois and next, I don’t know who. I’ll talk to you after this fight, it’s my life.”

If he does, he will follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman, Vasiliy Lomachenko, as a fan favourite and legend of the game.

But his attention is firmly set on the tall task of a big punching heavyweight in the form of his life, which is never an easy ask.

“Hope for Redemption”:Gervonta Davis is expected to appear in court on July 29, where he will face formal proceedingsn Bai Amid Domestic Violence Allegationsa

The 29-year-old undefeated boxer was arrested on the morning of July 11, 2025, in Miami Beach. A license plate reader flagged his vehicle, leading to his apprehension. The arrest stemmed from an incident that reportedly occurred on Father’s Day, June 15, in Doral, Florida, involving the mother of his children.

According to the police report, Davis allegedly struck his ex-girlfriend during a heated exchange, a claim supported by video evidence provided by the woman’s mother. Davis was booked and later released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after posting bail.

How Claressa Shields, Terence Crawford And More Split Reaction to Katie Taylor’s Majority Decision Over Amanda Serrano In Their Trilogy Fight

The boxing world erupted with divided opinions following Katie Taylor’s majority decision victory over Amanda Serrano in their long-anticipated trilogy bout. The historic clash, which took place in front of a roaring crowd, was every bit as dramatic and fiercely competitive as expected—but the decision has sparked heated debate among fans, analysts, and even fellow boxing champions.

Among the most vocal were elite fighters like Claressa Shields and Terence Crawford, who took to social media to express their thoughts on what many are calling one of the most controversial outcomes in recent women’s boxing history.

For the third time in their rivalry, Katie Taylor found a way to produce a points victory over Amanda Serrano.

After notching a split-decision win in their first fight back in April 2022 and a unanimous decision clouded in controversy in the November rematch, the Irish superstar defended her undisputed super lightweight world championship with a majority decision over her rival Friday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Taylor ending the trilogy and rivalry with a 3-0 sweep of Serrano set off waves of reaction with everyone from Claressa Shields to Terence Crawford and Eddie Hearn weighing in:

The official decision saw Katie Taylor winning by majority decision with two judges scoring it in her favor and one scoring it a draw. For Taylor, the win not only secured her status in the trilogy but also reaffirmed her place as one of the greatest female fighters in boxing history. Serrano, however, walked away with a performance that further cemented her legacy—regardless of the result.

Over Domestic Violence, Deontay Wilder’s fiancée “Telli Swift” Receives Temporary Restraining Order Over Domestic Violence Allegations, Per Reports

Telli Swift, the fiancée of Deontay Wilder, was granted a temporary restraining order against the former heavyweight champion boxer due to a litany of domestic violence allegations, according to TMZ and USA Today.

Swift reportedly applied for the TRO in Los Angeles last week and was granted it by a judge on Monday. The order requires Wilder to stay at least 100 yards away from Swift and their daughter and will remain in effect until June 25, when the two parties are scheduled to appear before a judge.

In the application, Swift — who has been in a relationship with Wilder since 2015 and got engaged to him in 2018 — reportedly accuses Wilder of choking her at least five times since 2018, once in front of their daughter and her son, and slamming her son’s head against a car.

She also reportedly claims Wilder took her laptop without her consent and sent disturbing messages to her contacts, used their home surveillance system to spy on her and threw her out of their Atlanta residence in April despite her having recently undergone invasive surgery. That’s in addition to allegedly ridiculing her constantly, threatening to destroy her belongings and expecting intercourse “three times a day.”

Swift was apparently frightened that Wilder could become violent when he returned home after his fight in Saudi Arabia last Saturday. Via TMZ:

“I believe Deontay is capable of being physically violent towards me upon his return in June because he has expressed that he is furious with me since April and has been physically abusive with me in the past,” she said.

She also believes his mental health has deteriorated alongside his career since his losses to Tyson Fury, via USA

At that point, he struggled to get fights that could advance his career and he was emotionally unstable,’’ Swift said in the request for a restraining order. “He would cry and yell often in our home.’’

Since losing to Joseph Parker in December, Swift said, “Deontay has been more emotionally abusive to me than anytime in the past. I have been suffering in silence despite Deontay becoming increasingly aggressive and controlling, because I did not want him to experience any further mental health struggles.’’

It’s worth noting that the process to obtain a temporary restraining order in California essentially consists of one party filing a statement about why they think the other is a threat and a judge granting it based on what the filer claims. The subject of the temporary restraining order, in this case Wilder, does not need to be present for the initial filing, only for the subsequent court date in which he may argue his case.

Joe Rogan Leaks The Biggest Insane Pay Ever For Oleksandr Usyk & Daniel Dubois Will Make For Boxing Rematch

UFC commentator and world-renowned podcaster, Joe Rogan, has leaked the extraordinary wad of cash Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois are set to receive for their upcoming heavyweight boxing fight.

Usyk and Dubois fought once before, with the Brit famously dropping the unbeaten two-weight champion with a body shot that the referee adjudged to have been too low of a blow to count as a knockdown, before Usyk, who had a timeout to recover, rallied and won via ninth-round stoppage in 2023

Since then, Usyk has won back-to-back bouts against Tyson Fury, while Dubois enjoyed an incredible resurgence thanks to briliant wins over Filip Hrgovic, Jarrell Miller, and Anthony Joshua.

Their rematch takes place on the 19th of July at Wembley Stadium in London and both fighters will bring their respective world titles to the ring in an undisputed championship fight. While the pay was always expected to be high, Rogan’s comments underline just how handsomely the elite in boxing get rewarded for their talents.

Rogan leaked the pay during a conversation with UFC stars Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya.

“Bro, did you see the numbers that Usyk and Dubois are getting?” Rogan said.

He then revealed that Usyk stands to pocket $132 million, while Dubois will take $71 million to the bank, with both payments totaling $199 million — $1 million shy of previously-reported figures suggesting both fighters, combined, were always expected to make $200 million. It’s unclear, exactly, where Rogan has seen the breakdown.

Anthony joshua

“$132 million! $132 million and $71 million!”

“Yeah, look at the numbers. $132 million and $71 million. Yo! Yo, that’s crazy! Numbers for purses.”

The figures, if accurate, dwarf the pay that UFC fighters receive as champions as they rarely make eight figures, let alone nine. However, for boxing’s biggest bouts, we’ve seen time and again that there are boxers who command insane purses.

GIVE ME SPORT understands, for example, that Top Rank fighter Tyson Fury made more than $200 million for two Riyadh Season fights.

Floyd Mayweather made more than $200 million on two separate occasions in his career — against Manny Pacquiao, and Conor McGregor.

British Boxing Standout  Sunny Edwards Picks Out Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis As His Other Favourite Current Boxer

British boxing standout Sunny Edwards has revealed his admiration for one of the sport’s most electrifying talents — Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. Known for his slick footwork, defensive genius, and outspoken personality, Edwards has never been shy about sharing his opinions. But when it comes to Davis, the usually brash Brit shows nothing but respect.

In a recent interview, Edwards named the undefeated American knockout artist as one of his favorite current fighters. “I love watching Tank fight,” Edwards said. “He’s one of the most explosive fighters in the game right now. He carries real power, but he’s also smart. People don’t give him enough credit for how intelligent he is in the ring.”

Gervonta Davis, who boasts an impressive undefeated record with the majority of his wins coming by way of knockout, has quickly established himself as a superstar in the lightweight and super lightweight divisions. His highlight-reel knockouts and ability to pull massive crowds have made him one of boxing’s must-see attractions — and clearly, Edwards is paying close attention.

While the two operate in different weight classes, Edwards competing at flyweight and Davis at lightweight/super lightweight, the mutual respect underscores Davis’s cross-divisional appeal. “There are not many fighters I really sit down and look forward to watching live — Tank is one of them,” Edwards added.

Gervonta davis

What makes Davis stand out to many, including Edwards, is his combination of power and precision. He doesn’t just throw bombs — he sets traps, calculates angles, and closes distance with frightening speed. Fighters like Davis are a rare breed, and it’s clear he’s earned the admiration of his peers as much as his fans.

Edwards, who has been eyeing big fights of his own following his move up in weight, often emphasizes boxing IQ and technical prowess — attributes that Tank also quietly excels in behind the knockouts. “He’s not just brawn, he’s brains too,” Edwards said.

As both fighters continue their respective journeys, fans can appreciate the mutual recognition between two of boxing’s sharpest minds and fiercest talents. And while a matchup between the two is unlikely given the weight disparity, Edwards’ endorsement of Davis adds even more shine to the already glowing reputation of Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.

In a sport often divided by rivalries and heated debates, it’s refreshing to see top fighters show genuine appreciation for each other’s craft.
