Another Major Golf Triumph for His Son Charlie Leaves a Proud Father — Tiger Woods

While golf fans were glued to the Ryder Cup drama, Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods was quietly putting on a show of his own — and winning again.

The 16-year-old prodigy fired a sizzling 68 and led The Benjamin School to team victory at the South Florida PGA Junior Golf West Coast High School Championship at The Club at TwinEagles Talon Course in Naples, Florida.

Charlie came out swinging with eight birdies in his opening round, mixing one bogey and a triple but still carding a brilliant 68 to sit tied for second after day one.

He couldn’t quite repeat that fireworks display in round two, but held his nerve with four birdies and four bogeys to finish at 4-under for the 36-hole tournament, good enough for T4 overall.

Teammate Clint Lewis matched Charlie’s 4-under total, and the pair proved the driving force behind Benjamin School’s narrow four-shot win over Sarasota High School.

The individual title went to Jack Donovan, who beat Henry Liebwein in a two-hole playoff after both finished on 9-under-par.

Out of 98 starters, 82 players completed the event.

This is already Charlie’s second high school team title, adding to his Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class A State Championship win last November.

Now a junior at The Benjamin School, Charlie continues to rise up the ranks — he’s currently No. 9 in the AJGA national rankings, and his CV reads like that of a seasoned pro.

Charlie captured his first individual AJGA title earlier this season in May with victory at the Team TaylorMade Invitational, and he finished a respectable T9 at the Boys Junior PGA two months later.

The South Florida PGA Junior Golf West Coast High School Championship also featured a girls’ event, won individually by Abigail Lee and by Barron Collier in the team competition.

There is anticipation that Charlie and his father Tiger Woods will once again team up in the annual PNC Championship just before Christmas.

Tiger woods

Woods, who turns 50 on 30 December, has been out of competitive action all season after recovering from surgery to repair a left Achilles tendon.

It remains to be seen which college Charlie will choose to represent.

Charlie’s father Tiger attended Stanford University, but initial reports indicate he is unlikely going to follow his father’s footsteps.

One potential option for Charlie could be Florida State, but at this stage it’s unknown.

A New Generation of Grace: Charlie and Sam Woods Define the Modern Woods Legacy

For nearly three decades, the name Woods has stood as a symbol of excellence, perseverance, and transformation. To golf fans, it evokes images of Tiger Woods fist-pumping under Sunday’s golden light, rewriting history one swing at a time. But in 2025, the Woods story is evolving — carried forward by two young figures who embody both the weight and wonder of that legacy: Charlie Axel Woods and Sam Alexis Woods.

They are not just Tiger Woods’ children; they are the living bridge between the legend’s storied past and a future shaped by authenticity, grace, and individuality.

Charlie Woods: The Echo of Greatness

At just 15, Charlie Woods carries himself with a composure far beyond his years. He has inherited not only his father’s athleticism but also his fierce competitiveness and unmistakable charisma. Every time Charlie steps onto a tee box, there’s a quiet hum of curiosity — will he live up to the myth that came before him?

In truth, he already has, in his own way.

Charlie’s journey in junior golf has been one of measured growth and increasing confidence. His performances at elite youth tournaments, including a standout Top-10 finish at the Junior PGA Championship, have shown flashes of brilliance that remind fans of his father’s early days. But what makes Charlie special isn’t mimicry — it’s his mindset.

Charlie Woods

Observers often note how Tiger, now playing the role of mentor more than master, walks the course beside his son not as a coach, but as a father. Their dynamic is built on mutual respect, quiet understanding, and the shared rhythm of two golfers who don’t need words to communicate.

“Charlie’s dedication is what makes me most proud,” Tiger once said. “He doesn’t just want to play. He wants to learn.”

And learn he has. From his pre-shot routine to his calm under pressure, Charlie is blending the precision of Tiger with a personality that’s uniquely his own. He laughs more, jokes more, and enjoys the game without the crushing expectations his father once bore.

For Charlie, the fairway isn’t a stage — it’s a playground of possibility.

Sam Alexis Woods: Poise Beyond the Spotlight

While her younger brother attracts attention on the golf course, Sam Alexis Woods has become a quiet beacon of strength and grace in her own right. Now 18 and pursuing studies at Stanford University — the same institution that launched her father’s extraordinary career — Sam embodies balance: intellect, humility, and quiet confidence.

Though she keeps a low public profile, Sam’s presence has always carried weight. When she introduced her father at his World Golf Hall of Fame induction in 2022, her words resonated deeply across generations. “You are a fighter,” she told him, voice steady yet tender. “You’ve taught me to face every challenge with courage.”

Tiger woods

That moment revealed the heart of the Woods family — not one defined by trophies or titles, but by resilience and love.

Sam’s interests extend far beyond the links. A natural athlete, she played soccer throughout high school, helping her team win regional honors, while also excelling academically. Friends describe her as thoughtful and quietly driven — someone who leads not by volume but by example.

At tournaments, Sam is often seen cheering for Charlie and Tiger, her understated style — crisp sneakers, minimalist accessories, and Stanford-red hues — drawing admiration from fans and photographers alike. She is, in every sense, her father’s daughter: composed, observant, and purposeful.

Woods’ Son Charlie Stuns Golf World With Career-Defining Triumph at Junior Invitational

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie just snagged the biggest win of his young career. The 16-year-old golfer won his first American Junior Golf Association title in the Team TaylorMade Invitational in Florida on Wednesday, May 28 — beating out four of the association’s top-five ranked players for the win.

The young golfer, whose previous best finish was a tie for 25th at the Sage Valley Junior Invitational in March, finished at 15-under par during the tournament at Streamsong Resort in Florida

The win comes after a disappointing result for Charlie earlier this month when he fell seven strokes short of qualifying for the US Open.

Tiger, 49, shares Charlie with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren. The former couple are also parents to daughter, Sam Alexis Woods.

Tiger Woods

Woods said, “I can’t believe I am saying this, but a few weeks after rupturing my left Achilles, [then] sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber plus the explosive lifts my doctors and trainers have me ready to play the Masters next week!”

Six minutes after his initial post, Woods confirmed he was joking. “P.S. April Fools my Achilles is still a mess,” he wrote on X with a smiley face.

Charlie Woods Produces Again A Memorable Ace At TPC Sawgrass, the Same Iconic Course Tiger Conquered Twice.

Charlie Woods, the 16-year-old son of golf star Tiger Woods, fired a hole-in-one at the par-three third hole at TPC Sawgrass on Sunday in the Junior Players Championship.

Woods made his ace at the 177-yard hole in the final round at the Stadium Course, where his famed father won the PGA Tour Players Championship in 2001 and 2013.

Woods, playing the American Junior Golf Association event for the first time, paused after watching the ball, unsure it had gone in the hole until seeing greenside spectators celebrate.

“Oh my God. I got it,” Woods said. “Wow.”

Woods also made a hole-in-one at last year’s PNC Championship, playing alongside his father in the parent-child event’s final round at the Ritz-Carlton club in Orlando.

On Sunday, the ace by Woods was part of a final round level-par 72 that left him on seven-over par and sharing 31st place, 16 strokes behind winner Miles Russell

Tiger Woods : No body who owns a yacht named Privacy is likely to pursue publicity. Tiger Woods has made the keeping of secrets an art form despite spending the majority of his life as one of the most recognisable people on earth. Hank Haney, the golf coach, once told the story of being chastised by his star client for giving a television executive a nod towards Woods’s likely schedule. Any member of the media who claims they properly know Woods is spoofing; there is deliberate, visible distance kept between the 15-times major winner and all but those within his inner sanctum. So many questions, so few answers.

Against this backdrop, the profile given to 13-year-old Charlie Woods – and at his father’s own volition – is intriguing. The PNC Championship in Orlando ordinarily provides a bit of hit-and-giggle for high-profile golfing families but the now routine involvement of Team Woods raises interest levels significantly.

Including to the point where it can make for uncomfortable reading or listening. This weekend, we have seen Charlie’s divot pattern assessed. Every pose and swing is likened to his iconic father. This is a child, subject to the kind of scrutiny that would be deemed unhealthy by plenty of onlookers. How does Charlie seamlessly return to the classroom having been plastered all over the Golf Channel for 72 hours?

Charlie Woods

What makes this situation so intriguing is that Tiger, such a fiercely protective father, is better placed than anybody to comprehend the attention placed on his young son. The pair can play golf within Floridian-gated communities, away from prying eyes, whenever they choose.

Instead, Tiger thinks it useful – and now more than once – to catapult Charlie into public view with golf club in hand. Equally interesting is that Charlie, for all we can reasonably tell, relishes the environment. He has no apparent desire to shun the limelight or wilt as cameras click and golf analysts swoon.

Tiger’s connection to his own father, Earl, has always been key to a story of sporting greatness. Sufficient evidence has been produced to suggest Earl was not the most pleasant of characters and some of his “training” of an emerging Tiger would equate to child cruelty in modern terms, but the US army veteran was perfectly correct when insisting his was a child who would change golf.

Sam Alexis Woods

Tiger was not so much a project for Earl as an obsession, which in turn seems to have fuelled the tunnel-vision approach of a golfer who was a Masters champion at 21. This was no ordinary relationship, which produced no ordinary golfer.

Donald Trump’s Granddaughter Amasses a Fortune Surpassing His — The Stunning Reason Behind Her Skyrocketing Wealth

Say what you will about the Trump family, but “routine” is not in their vocabulary. The White House can now add another surreal milestone to its résumé: Kai Trump, the eldest granddaughter of arguably the world’s most talked-about dynasty, second only to the Kardashians, is just 18 and already giving her grandfather, yes, President Donald Trump himself, a lesson in modern-day wealth management.

Once upon a time, the path to millions ran through oil fields or casinos. For Gen Z, it starts with a TikTok feed, an energy drink sponsorship deal, and a perfectly curated look featuring a golf club in hand.

Kai is more than just “Trump’s granddaughter.” She’s a financial outlier in a family where money is hardly scarce. Her father, Donald Trump Jr., is a media strategist and a contender in the family’s unofficial scandal competition. Her mother, Vanessa, a former model and high-society fixture, has been in a high-profile relationship with golf legend and scandal magnet Tiger Woods since her 2018 divorce from Trump Jr.

So what does life look like when you’re a social media star pulling in five times the salary of the US president? In case you missed it, Grandpa Donald earns about $400,000 a year as president, a modest sum compared to the $2.5 million Kai rakes in annually. Her income stems from a combination of her rising career as a professional golfer, her wildly successful social media presence with partnerships including TaylorMade Golf and sports drinks, and a $16 million family trust fund sitting pretty at JPMorgan.

The secret to it all? The NIL law – short for Name, Image, Likeness – which has transformed any young person with millions of followers into an endless marketing machine.

Despite out-earning her grandfather by a wide margin, Kai still knows how to show him respect when it counts. Her speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention, which followed the attempted assassination of Trump, went viral. She took the stage to recall how her grandfather “hands out candy and asks about grades.”

And the reports suggest the trust fund is just a small component of a wider-scale plan from Tiger, with it being suggested that Charlie may also own property.

He’s also carded two nine-birdie rounds at the 2025 Junior PGA Championship and is in the mix for Junior Ryder Cup places.

Charlie has grown up at his Dad’s home on Jupiter Island, which cost Tiger a reported $40m in 2006.

The 12-acre property endured a $15m refurbishment and is split into two sections that are connected by a glass walkway.

It boasts a golf course, two swimming pools for lane swimming and diving, a gym, a health facility and an oxygen treatment room, which will have aided Charlie significantly in his journey towards professional golf.

Tiger Woods is said to be worth over $1.3billion and a member of an elite group of athletes who have earned over a billion dollars.

Tiger won around $120m in earnings while spending 683 weeks at world number one.

Woods, a rising junior at the Benjamin School and son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, shot 74 (3-over) in the final round on Aug. 1 in West Lafayette, Indiana.

The winner and runner-up from the Junior PGA Championships were each guaranteed a place on the team as long as they were eligible. Tournament winner Lunden Esterline and Royal Palm Beach’s Giuseppe Puebla nabbed the automatic bids.

49th Junior PGA Championships: How did Charlie Woods fare in the final round?

Esterline and Puebla have already joined Hamilton Coleman (U.S. Junior Amateur champion), Miles Russell (No. 1 in qualifying points) and Tyler Mawhinney (No. 2 in qualifying points) to take five of the six available roster spots.

A sixth and final roster post will be a captain’s choice at the discretion of Suzy Whaley, a PGA of America Hall of Famer who calls Palm Beach Gardens home. The deadline for the pick is Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Romine pointed out that Woods could be picked as a captain’s selection to help raise awareness of the event.

“Woods is ranked 879thin WAGR, though he contended at Junior PGA before final-round 74 knocked him to T-9. Picking Charlie would increase the exposure of the event and ensure that Tiger Woods is at least at the early-week festivities at Bethpage.”

The 13th Junior Ryder Cup will be contested from Sept. 23-25, 2025 at Nassau Country Club and Bethpage Black in New York.

WEST LAFAYETTE ― A starting crowd of roughly 500 fans expecting to see Charlie Woods ― the son of golf legend Tiger Woods and hoping to get a glimpse of Tiger himself ― saw something different.

Those that stayed witnessed a 16-year-old exhibit the quiet confidence, leveled ball-striking and putting of an elite level player and master of a course that only two days ago had stumped him and left him in 43rd place after the first round of the Junior PGA Championship.

Charlie Woods second shot on the 18th hole par 4 dropped firmly onto the green before he calmly putted for birdie to finish -12, placing him in second place and in the hunt for the final round on Friday.

“My round was pretty up and down and it gave me a heart attack out there,” Woods said. “But nine birdies is pretty good. A couple of three putts, I made a few mistakes today but overall pretty solid round. Pretty good position going into tomorrow.”

Woods will tee off at 10:06 a.m. tomorrow joined by leader Lunden Esterline (-19) and Pennson Badget (-12) in the Junior PGA Championship final round.
