Again Serious Allegations Emerge as Warrant Is Said to Be Issued for Gervonta Davis

The Miami Gardens Police Department announced at a news conference Wednesday that it issued an arrest warrant for Gervonta Davis related to an alleged domestic violence incident involving an ex-girlfriend late in October.
Emmanuel Jeanty, executive officer for the Miami Gardens PD, stated that the MGPD and the United States Marshals Service’s fugitive task force were working together to locate Davis, who resides in the Miami area.
Davis, 31, will be charged with battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping because video surveillance footage allegedly corroborated Courtney Rossel’s account of what happened the night of October 27.
Rossel alleged Davis grabbed her by her head and throat and took her against her will out of Tootsie’s Cabaret, a Miami Gardens gentlemen’s club where she was employed as a VIP cocktail server. She claimed Davis dragged her out of the back exit and into a nearby parking garage, where he assaulted her.

Rossel filed a police report and a lawsuit against Davis soon thereafter.
Davis, a Baltimore native with a lengthy history of legal troubles, was eventually removed from a high-profile fight with Jake Paul due to these allegations. The WBA lightweight champion was scheduled to oppose Paul in a cruiserweight exhibition Netflix was to stream November 14 from Kaseya Center in Miami.Gervonta Davis
Rossel also alleged Davis abused her on several prior occasions during their five-month relationship, which she said ended about a month before October 27. She took legal action just two months after domestic violence charges involving another woman, the mother of two of Davis’ three children, were dropped.
Gervonta Davis was previously imprisoned in his hometown of Baltimore in June 2023 for violating terms of his home detention sentence, the consequence of causing a hit-and-run accident in November 2020. He was released after spending 44 days in jail.
The troubled Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs), one of boxing’s biggest stars in the United States, has fought just twice since he was released from jail in July 2023. The heavily favored Davis settled for a controversial majority draw with Lamont Roach in his last fight, which took place March 1 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
