Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford Sends Clear Message on Wife Rumors Before Canelo Fight

Terence Crawford had been in a long-term relationship with girlfriend Alindra Person, but some had speculated that she was the boxer’s wife. Months before the star’s marquee fight against Canelo Alvarez, Crawford took to Instagram in an attempt to set the record straight.

“I hate that now days you have to put s— on social media,” Crawford noted in a June 2025, post to his Instagram Story. “Look I am single so please stop saying I’m married because I (have) never been married or (ask) where my wife at.”

Not only is Crawford not married, but the boxer’s latest comments indicate the star is no longer in a relationship with his long-time girlfriend.

Here’s what you need to know about Crawford, his dating life and kids.

Crawford still remains involved in his children’s lives. Person and Crawford are the proud parents of six children.

During a recent interview on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Crawford also revealed that he has a seventh child with another woman. When Crawford is not in the ring, the boxing star enjoys the normal duties of being a father.

“Be they self,” Crawford said of his advice to his kids during a May 30, interview with “All the Smoke Fight.” “That’s all my kids. Be a leader, not a follower. You know, I think that’s the best advice that I can give my kids because in today’s society, everybody is copying everybody.

“Everybody want(s) to be, you know, these social media kids and they gravitate to their friends and want to do the things that their friends do. And I just want my kids to be like I was when I was young.”

Terence Crawford

Relationships aside, Crawford has remained focused on the massive fight against Alvarez. With the main event being available for free to Netflix subscribers, Crawford believes the visibility will not only help the two boxers but enhance the popularity of the sport as well.

The majority of marquee fights in recent years have been on pay-per-view which can limit the potential viewers.

“It’s (Netflix) very important because if you look at boxing back in the day, boxing was like the No. 1 sport in the U.S. before (the) NBA and NFL took over,” Crawford remarked during a September 10, press conference.

“But the reason why it was because it was on regular TV and more people can take notice of it. You know, when you was looking at all the mega fights back in the days, like Sugar Ray Leonard and now, they was fighting on regular TV,” Crawford added.

The Rumor That Won’t Go Away: He’s Going to Play, PGA Tour Winner Fuels Tiger Woods Champions Tour Talk

After recently turning 50, Tiger Woods now faces another career decision The answer to that question is still unclear, although many former PGA Tour greats have encouraged him to tee it up on the senior circuit.

Ernie Els said playing on it “can only be beneficial” to Woods. Bernhard Langer and Jack Nicklaus have predicted he’ll end up playing with the seniors. Paul Azinger even argued Woods might feel an “obligation” to tee it up on the 54-hole circuit. PGA Tour Champions president Miller Brady said they are “ready” for Woods and the onslaught of attention he’d bring should he decide the senior tour is for him.

Stewart Cink told GOLF’s Jessica Marksbury that the PGA Tour Champions would be an ideal spot for Woods to compete and stay sharp for the majors.

“[Woods] already made his legacy. He’s not going to come out here and like, recreate a new legacy,” Cink told GOLF. “But I think he would be able to strip it down to its purest form, and that’s just competition, and testing himself out. It would be a good way for him to test out his body and see how things are going, getting ready for some of his other tournaments, majors and whatnot. It would be huge.”

While no one knows when — or if — Woods will make his PGA Tour Champions debut, PGA Tour winner Tommy Gainey, who now plays on the PGA Tour Champions, believes he has an idea — or at least an inkling — about when the 15-time major winner will peg it on the senior circuit.

“There’s been rumours he’s going to play out here,” Gainey said on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio. “I don’t know if any of the golf fans in TV land or radio land have seen, but he signed a deal with Insperity. You could see it on his sleeve, so that’s good news.

“And Insperity have a tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. So, I’ll let people think maybe what they want to think on that, but that tells me that if he’s able to play, he’s going to play in that one.”

Tiger Woods

The Insperity Invitational is held May 4-10 at The Woodlands, Texas, which could give Woods enough time to heal from the lumbar disc replacement surgery he had in October.

During the latest TGL match, Woods provided an update on his recovery and the timeline for his return to competition.

“I’m moving up to short irons, so that’s about it,” Woods said. “I need a little bit more than that to be able to play [on TGL]. At my speed right now, I could probably play the Stinger hole. Just kind of roll it off the tee. But no, I’m progressing, which is nice. I’m getting there and getting stronger. It’s just one of those things where it just takes so much time for the bone to heal and the bone to set.”

Woods ruptured his Achilles’ tendon while preparing for the Masters last year.

Gainey, who won the Hale Irwin Rookie of the Year Award on the PGA Tour Champions last season, is looking forward to hopefully playing alongside Woods on the senior circuit once the 15-time major winner is healthy.

“The biggest thing for him is, I want him to get healthy,” Gainey said. “And when he does get healthy and plays out here, I would love to be paired with him going into the final round with a chance to win a golf tournament against him. That would be a dream come true.

“Everyone knows he was the man on the PGA Tour and he’s still the needle, in my opinion. I’m just so happy he’s 50 because he’s going to bring more eyes to the PGA Tour Champions. And that’s never going to hurt.”

Charlie Woods

PGA Tour Champions Player Director Steve Flesch knows how much Woods’ presence would mean to the senior circuit. They just hope they get see it in the flesh.

“Every meeting we’re like, hopefully he plays,” Felsch told GOLF’s Jessica Marksbury. “Nobody knows. I think we all are in consensus that if he would play, he’d play maybe five [tournaments]. He’s certainly not going to play 15, but if we could get 10 out of him, that’d be fantastic. But nobody knows.

“I mean, we all hope he does. But we also hope if he decides to play that he lets the tournament directors know more than like, the Friday night before the tournament. My guess is he’ll play the majors that he can. But nobody really knows.”

Nobody knows, but Gainey believes Woods has dropped some breadcrumbs about his plans.

Judge orders Gervonta Davis to jail after boxer spent house arrest at Four Seasons, luxury condo

Boxing champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis was serving out his home detention sentence for a 2020 hit-and-run at a Four Seasons Hotel and a $3.4 million high-rise penthouse that he bought in South Baltimore, prompting a judge on Thursday to order him to immediately be taken into custody.

Baltimore Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy said she gave permission for Davis, 28, who had been living in Parkland, Florida, to do the house arrest at the home of his longtime coach and trainer, Calvin Ford, in Baltimore. She said she was never asked to change that location.

“The reason I didn’t want him in Florida is because this was not a holiday,” said Handy, who later added that she did not want Davis to be sitting by the pool or hanging out at the spa. “He was serving time. And I was being considerate enough to let him do it on home detention.”

The Baltimore Banner reviewed a recording of the court proceeding, which started after 5:15 p.m. The hearing neither appeared on the daily calendar for Baltimore Circuit Court nor was docketed in the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.

Throughout the hearing, Michael Tomko, Davis’ attorney, repeatedly told the judge to blame him.

Tomko said he and his client were caught off guard with the requirement to do the house arrest in Baltimore. Ford, though, has a one-bedroom home that could not accommodate the team that provides 24/7 security to Davis.

At one point, Tomko implored the judge to not punish Davis for having fame or money, adding that it’s sometimes hard for individuals to understand that “people can attack famous people or hurt them or not want them to fight or win.”

No one wanted him to live in the hotel, Tomko said. He said he worked with his client’s team to buy the condo as quickly as possible to move Davis to a safe location.

“I don’t think that Mr. Davis did anything wrong except listen to his lawyer,” he later added.

But Handy said Davis had plenty of time before his sentencing to find a place in Baltimore. She said she considered his safety when handing down the punishment, noting “he certainly didn’t do anything to impress me at his sentencing.”

Davis did not speak at the hearing.

Later, Handy revoked Davis’ home detention and ordered him to immediately begin serving the “remaining balance of his sentence.”

“Judge,” Tomko said, “how is that fair?”

Amid growing uncertainty: Shock contenders emerge as WBA weighs replacements for Gervonta Davis

As Gervonta Davis deals with yet another legal issue — the same one that pulled him from his fight with Jake Paul — the WBA recently stripped him of his lightweight title. The organization is already planning to move on with a pair of vacant title fights in mind.

The WBA will crown its new 135-pound champion by having No. 1 contender Floyd Schofield face either No. 2-ranked Lucas Bahdi or No. 4-ranked Lamont Roach Jr., according to boxing reporter Dan Rafael.

While Davis has not officially announced his retirement, he has practically confirmed that the end is near. At the very least, it will be a while before ‘Tank’ returns to the ring, convincing the WBA to move on.

The WBA appears intent on having Schofield in its vacant title fight. ‘The Kid’ was booked to face WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson in February 2025, but fell ill during fight week and was replaced by Josh Padley.

Bahdi makes the most sense from the rankings perspective, but more fans would want to see Roach in the vacant title picture. Many still believe that Roach should already own the belt, given his controversial draw with Davis in March 2025, which was the latter’s most recent fight.

Gervonta Davis

Davis and Roach were expected to rematch after that fight, but ‘Tank’ instead surprised fans with the Paul fight. Roach went on to fight Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz to another draw in December 2025, leaving him officially winless since June 2024.

Schofield, 23, made himself the No. 1 contender when he stopped Tevin Farmer with a shocking first-round knockout in June 2025 on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. That fight was his only fight of 2025 and his only outing since withdrawing from the title fight with Stevenson.

The 31-year-old Bahdi is one of the top male fighters signed to Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. He went viral for his highlight-reel knockout of the previously undefeated Ashton Sylve in July 2024 and has rattled off three more victories since. Bahdi’s last win came over former super featherweight champion Roger Gutierrez in August 2025.

Although not mentioned by Rafael, Bakhodur Usmonov is ahead of Roach in the WBA rankings at No. 3. Usmonov is coming off a majority decision nod over former IBO champion Maxi Hughes in December.

Hand Injury Appears To Be Fine,Gervonta next fight could come in June 2026

Gervonta “Tank” Davis, who currently holds titles at 130 and 135 pounds, has indicated both that his recent hand injury from sparring is a non-issue, and that he’s looking at a June return.

Davis (24-0, 23 KO) has the WBA’s secondary “world” (regular) title at 135 pounds, and the “super world” title at 130, winning the latter when he knocked out Leo Santa Cruz last October.

There had been talk of him fighting Ryan Garcia, but that has cooled considerably, which frankly probably isn’t a surprise to many boxing fans. If it’s not Garcia or one of the other top young lightweights — titlists Teofimo Lopez or Devin Haney — Davis will, of course, have other options. Probably none as exciting, but other options.

For what it’s worth, the WBA’s top 10 contenders at junior lightweight are Chris Colbert, Xavier Martinez, Rene Alvarado, Abraham Nova, Kenichi Ogawa, Andrew Cancio, Pablo Vicente, Claudio Marrero, Anthony Cacace, and Jaime Arboleda. The most intriguing fight there is Colbert, and that could be a doable fight.

The WBA’s top 10 contenders at lightweight are Rolando Romero (interim champ), Vasiliy Lomachenko, Jorge Linares, Isaac Gonzalez (who is fighting March 13), Robert Easter Jr (supposedly fighting Feb. 20), Jackson Marinez (fighting Feb. 13), James Tennyson, Oliver Flores, Josh O’Reilly (which is an absurd ranking), and Michel Rivera.

If I had to put odds on any of these fighters being Davis’ next opponent, it gets tough, because he probably wants to fight on pay-per-view, and there’s not a single pay-per-view caliber opponent there besides Lomachenko, who is with Top Rank.

Eddie Hearn delivers an emotional message on Anthony Joshua following the shocking Nigeria car crash

Eddie Hearn has shared a heartfelt message about Anthony Joshua as he continues to recover following a recent car accident in Nigeria.

The 34-year-old boxer met with his long-time promoter this week, with Hearn describing his strength and resilience as “inspiring.”

Joshua, who escaped with minor injuries in the crash, has gradually returned to training while taking time to process the losses of two close friends.

Hearn’s message offered supporters an encouraging glimpse into Joshua’s mindset as he focuses on recovery and rebuilding

Eddie Hearn praises Anthony Joshua’s resilience

In a post shared on social media, Hearn spoke about Joshua’s strength and perspective after a period of loss and recovery.

“Great to catch up with Anthony Joshua today. His resilience and strength are inspiring,” Hearn said on Instagram.

“The loss is heavy and he will take his time to get back on track but said he is truly grateful for all the support and the love shown for Latz and Sina.”

Hearn’s message comes after a period of reflection for Joshua, who is continuing to focus on his well-being before confirming any future boxing plans.

Oleksandr Usyk

The promoter described their meeting as positive, saying Joshua remains thankful for the support he has received from fans and the boxing community.

The pair have worked together throughout Joshua’s professional career, and Hearn’s words offered a reminder of their close partnership away from the spotlight.

The post drew an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom praised the fighter’s strength and Hearn’s openness in highlighting it.

Anthony Joshua slowly returns to training

Joshua has begun easing back into his routine, sharing a short Snapchat video showing him back in the gym and working on the pads.

The clips served as reassurance to supporters following a quiet few weeks for the heavyweight.

While Joshua has yet to set a return date to the ring, those close to him have stressed the importance of taking time to recover properly.

The wider boxing community has continued to rally around Joshua in recent weeks, with Hearn’s message reflecting the respect and admiration the former world champion still commands.

Boxing Great Terence Crawford Watches Proudly as His Son Competes on the Wrestling Mat

The son of a boxing legend secured a third place finish at a Nebrasha high school wrestling conference tournament this past weekend.

Terence Crawford was in attendance and matside watching his son, Terence Crawford, Jr., earn bronze at the Omaha Metro Conference Tournament in Bellevue, Nebraska on Saturday.

Competing at 106 pounds, Crawford won his first two matches by fall before suffering a 19-13 decision in the semifinals. He bounced back with a pair of decision wins on the consolation side, including a 6-1 win for third over Daniel Loarca-Perez of Omaha Buena Vista.

Son Of Boxing Legend Having Strong Freshman High School Wrestling Season

Crawford Jr., a freshman, owns a record of 21-5 on the season competing for Omaha North High School.

The 38-year-old Crawford announced his retirement after defeating Canelo Alvarez last Septmeber to win the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring super middleweight championships. He won all 42 of his professional boxing matches, including 31 by knockout.

Terence Crawford Wrestled While Preparing For Incredible Boxing Career

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Crawford started training at C.W. Boxing Club in North Omaha at a young age. He also participated in wrestling as a youth in Nebraska.

Crawford has six children with Alindra Person, along with another child.

Creighton Prep captured the team title at the Omaha Metro Conference Tournament with 336.5 points. Omaha Bryan was second, as Crawford and Omaha North finished eighth overall.

Gervonta “Tank” Davis has far worse things outside the ring to worry about than his current title status.

BoxingScene has confirmed that a decision was made to name Baltimore’s Davis, 30-0-1 (28 KOs), as its “champion in recess” at lightweight, given his mounting legal troubles. The decision came in the wake of an arrest warrant being executed by police officials in Miami Gardens, Florida, stemming from an alleged incident that took place last October.

he sanctioning body’s executive committee is expected to soon make a decision about whether to move forward with a vacant 135lbs title fight.

WBA president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza confirmed Davis’ downgraded title status. The development functionally ends Davis’ reign of more than four years as the primary WBA 135lbs titlist. He previously held the WBA “regular” title from December 2019 through his upgrade in early 2024.

Gervonta “Tank” Davis is currently being sought by Miami Gardens police as part of an investigation that now includes multiple law enforcement parties. The troubled boxer is being charged with battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping stemming from allegations of abusing his former love interest at her workplace last October 27.

The severity of the alleged crime was the subject of a civil lawsuit filed by the woman, which resulted in Davis being removed from a planned novelty fight with Jake Paul. The two were due to meet last November 14 at Kaseya Center in Miami before Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) – Paul’s promotional company – pulled the plug and canceled the event.
Paul went on to face former two-time heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua last December 19 at the same arena. Joshua won via sixth-round knockout.

Davis, 31 – who now lives in South Florida – has not fought since a March 1 majority draw with Lamont Roach Jnr in Brooklyn, New York.

Oleksandr Usyk

Even if the fight with Paul had moved forward, there were already calls for the WBA to strip Davis of the title. He was previously linked to a rematch with Roach last summer, before more legal troubles surfaced, forcing Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) to outright cancel a planned August 16 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas.

Should the WBA move forward with a vacant title fight, Floyd Schofield and Lucas Bahdi are the current two highest-rated lightweight contenders. Schofield is with Golden Boy Promotions, while Bahdi is signed to MVP. Sources from both sides confirmed to BoxingScene that each is very much interested in such a fight – and especially for the abovementioned stakes.

Mendoza informed BoxingScene that Davis will have the opportunity to present his case, particularly as more details surface regarding his mounting legal issues.
Davis held the IBF 130lbs title for just seven months, beginning with his January 2017 knockout win over then-unbeaten Jose Pedraza. He lost the belt on the scale after blowing weight for a planned August 2017 title defense on the Floyd Mayweather Jnr-Conor McGregor undercard.
Anthony Joshua
Davis eventually parted ways with the titles at 130lbs and 140lbs to instead focus on lightweight. He made four defenses as a secondary lightweight titlist and another two with the full belt at stake. He fought just once each in 2024 and 2025. His June 2024 knockout win over Frank Martin was Davis’ first in more than a year, following his having gone to prison in June 2023 for violating the terms of his plea agreement from a 2020 hit-and-run incident in his native Baltimore.

Boxing’s power shift: New era declared as world champion claims global supremacy after Crawford walks away

The retirement of Terence Crawford sent ripples through boxing, impacting a number of fighters and divisions.

Canelo Alvarez’s plans to avenge his September 2025 defeat to Crawford were immediately scrapped, while the super-middleweight division was left without a recognised number one.

Terence Crawford’s victory over Canelo made him a three-weight undisputed champion, but his decision to hang up the gloves left all four titles vacant.

The WBA have since acted to elevate interim titleholder Jose Armando Resendiz to full champion, while the remaining three belts are expected to find new owners this year, with a host of contenders lining up for their opportunity.

The fallout extended beyond the world title picture and into the pound-for-pound debate. While inherently subjective, such rankings continue to shape discussions around boxing’s elite, regardless of weight class.

For several years, Crawford featured prominently in the top three alongside heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) and multi-weight phenom Naoya Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs).

Terence Crawford

With Crawford now removed from the equation, Usyk and Inoue are widely viewed as the leading candidates for the top spot, depending on who you ask, with Dmitry Bivol and Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez commonly cited to round out the top five.

Inoue enjoyed a busy 2025, making four successful defences of his undisputed super-bantamweight title. His year was capped with a routine points victory over David Picasso last month in Riyadh.

Prior to his final fight of the year, Fight Hub TV caught up with the Japanese star and asked whether Crawford’s retirement now made him the best fighter in the world. Inoue’s response was characteristically brief.

“Hai (yes).”

Whether Usyk would agree is unlikely to become a pressing debate. What is beyond doubt is that boxing currently boasts two exceptional champions who, in their own ways, are staking legitimate claims to greatness.

He Could Change Boxing Forever – Oleksandr Usyk has emerged as a prime target for Ed Pereira, CEO of the newly formed boxing events company

Oleksandr Usyk has emerged as a prime target for Ed Pereira, CEO of the newly formed boxing events company iV Boxing (iVB), which is planning a series of ambitious shows this year aimed at turning elite fighters into global household names.

Pereira announced on Friday that iVB’s events will be streamed live on YouTube, with several cards open to the public at little or no cost. One of the headline plans is a major outdoor boxing event scheduled for July 11 in San Francisco, where organisers hope to attract a record-breaking crowd of more than 136,000 fans.

No bouts have yet been confirmed for any iVB events, though the cards are expected to feature top-level fighters signed to a range of promoters. Among the names iVB is keen to showcase is Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs), the reigning heavyweight king and ESPN’s current pound-for-pound No. 1.

The Ukrainian star is being considered either for the San Francisco event in July or for a separate iVB show in Las Vegas in April, with the date still to be finalised.

Usyk, who turns 39 on January 17, currently holds the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles. He vacated the WBO belt earlier this year, leading to England’s Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) being elevated to full champion.

The unified champion has not fought since stopping Daniel Dubois in five rounds last July and has recently been linked to a new promotional agreement ahead of a potential clash with former WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs).

Anthony Joshua

Reflecting on boxing’s past stature, Pereira explained his vision to ESPN.

“Many years ago, boxing was the biggest sport in the world,” Pereira said. “Boxers were earning more than Babe Ruth, and the heavyweight champion was seen as the king of the world. We want to bring that feeling back, where everyone knows who the heavyweight champion is.”

“There was a time when you could stop a granny in Bolton or someone in Washington, D.C., and they’d know the heavyweight champion’s name. Today, most people can’t tell you, even though Usyk is a generational great. That’s a shame.”

iVB has previously been involved in organising high-profile events, including last year’s Times Square card in New York featuring Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney in separate bouts. The company now has its sights set on breaking boxing’s all-time attendance record.

The current gate record stands at 135,132 spectators, set in 1941 when Tony Zale faced Billy Pryor at Juneau Park in Milwaukee. Pereira believes the July 11 event could surpass that figure.

Plans call for a large section of San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza to be closed, with the ring positioned directly in front of City Hall — a setting Pereira describes as “a seminal moment” for the sport.

Oleksandr Usyk

To reach its ambitious target of up to 200,000 attendees, Pereira acknowledges that the card will need to feature one of the biggest fights of the year.

“We’re prepared to make the biggest fights and pay fairly for them,” Pereira said. “Anyone who fights on that San Francisco card will become a world record holder.”

“We’re currently working with multiple promoters, but we’re not ready to announce the fighters yet. The goal is to make the event affordable — or free — for the public. Most fans will be able to attend at no cost, and breaking the attendance record is the challenge we’re determined to meet.”
