Unfortunately, last year, while training at home after recovering from a back surgery, Woods suffered a torn Achilles tendon. That setback ruled him out of competitive play for the foreseeable future, extinguishing hopes of a return to the elite events that once defined his legendary career.
As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured.
A precisely executed surgery
Fortunately for Woods and the millions of fans who long to see him compete at the highest level again, the surgery was successful. Dr. Charlton Stucken performed a minimally invasive procedure at the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach.

The operation went smoothly, and the expectation is that his recovery will follow a similar path. Though he’s not yet ready to return to competition, Woods has remained active in other ways. In June, he was seen supporting his son, Charlie Woods, at the Florida Amateur Open, taking on his fatherly duties with pride despite his own physical limitations.
Drawing attention even from the sidelines
It’s simply in Tiger’s nature to command attention, even when he’s not swinging a club. His legacy and exceptional talent keep him relevant in every conversation about golf, whether he’s competing or not.
