Mayweather’s Protégé Demands Explosive Rematch Between Floyd and Pacquiao: “The World Needs to See It Again!”

One of the questions that has gained great interest in the boxing world is, who will be Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent? His draw against Mario Barrios generated a wave of positive reactions for his performance. Many still believe that the Filipino deserved the victory, considering how he fought against the current welterweight champion. Even his last opponent, Yordenis Ugas, who retired Pacquiao four years ago, shared his admiration. “How is it possible that four years later he faces a boy 16 years younger and gives another good fight? Pacquiao is incredible. Without a doubt, one of the best in history,” Ugas said

Although Mario Barrios retained his belt, Manny Pacquiao won the sympathy of the public, and the fight revived conversations about a possible rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather. The last time the two legends met was in 2015, in one of the most lucrative, yet disappointing fights in boxing history. Pacquiao fought on for six more years after that night, while Floyd Mayweather retired professionally in 2017. Now, with Pacquiao back in the ring and holding his own against a younger champion, he is already asking Mayweather to “sign the contract”.

Who supports the “Mayweather vs Pacquiao” rematch?

Curmel Moton, the undefeated lightweight prospect who turned professional in 2023, recently shared his thoughts on the rumor surrounding Manny Pacquiao’s rematch. Yesterday, Pro Boxing Fans posted a video on Instagram with the caption: “PACQUIAO VS MAYWEATHER 2”Curmel Morton wants to see two legends in the ring again”. In the video, Moton was asked his opinion on Pacquiao’s recent fight against Mario Barrios and whether a rematch should be the next step.

The 19-year-old, who has a current record of 8-0, offered a clear answer“I don’t think Floyd wants a rematch, although Manny does. It was a great fight. I think we should leave it at that.” He then suggested his preferred option: “I’d like to see Pacquiao and Mayweather fight. That’s the fight I really want to see,” it was a very open answer where it really is the feeling of the general public, but his closeness to Mayweather has provided a clear picture of the former champion’s feelings.

For Teofimo, Pacquiao also saw Pacquiao as the winner against Mario Barrios

In an interview with Fight Hype earlier this month, Teofimo Lopez praised Manny Pacquiao’s remarkable form“What Manny Pacquiao is doing at this age is different. He’s upbeat, full of energy, motivated and determined, and I look forward to seeing him raise his hands again, become world champion once again.” But when the 62-8 boxer’s fight against Mario Barrios was declared a draw, Lopez did not hold back his frustration.

“I had it 10-2, 9-3. The amount of punches he was landing, and in the last 10 seconds, he was showing more aggressive punches”. While many expected the rematch with Barrios to be next, Lopez had another vision in mind. He called for a rematch between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. to avenge Pacquiao’s 2015 loss. “He should fight Mayweather,” said the 22-1 boxer. Why? Because “Pacquiao still has it. I don’t think he should do the rematch with Barrios. I feel like Pacquiao did more than enough and eclipsed him”.

Floyd Mayweather’s Uncle Slams Canelo Alvarez Over Terence Crawford and ‘Money May’ Comparison

Floyd Mayweather officially retired in 2017 after a crossover fight with Conor McGregor.

During his era as ‘Money’ Mayweather, he fought a young upstart in Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, whom he beat by majority decision.

Fast forward 12 years from that loss, and Canelo now sits as the undisputed super middleweight king, ready to face four-division great Terence Crawford.

The comparisons between Floyd and ‘Bud’ have been made by the Mexican himself, claiming that a win here is better than a victory over the undefeated legend, even if Crawford is jumping up two weight classes.

His criticisms didn’t stop there as he took apart the suggestion that the now four-weight world champion faced a prime Floyd.

“What was Canelo 20 something? He had more fights than Floyd, and he lost? To a man who was 30-something years old.

“How are you at the top of your career, you ain’t in your prime at 36. That’s not your prime, your prime is in your 20s.”

At the time, the 23-year-old was 43 fights into his professional career and coming off a three-fight win streak, which included ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley.

While he may have made some comparisons between the Omaha fighter and the boxer once known as ‘Pretty Boy’, the admiration for his rival cannot be understated.

Canelo Alvarez ranks former rival Floyd Mayweather a 10/10

While he may have made some comparisons between the Omaha fighter and the boxer once known as ‘Pretty Boy’, the admiration for his rival cannot be understated.

Canelo said: “10/10. You know, I don’t need to explain it.”

He also ranked Dmitry Bivol and Gennady Golovkin, who never suffered a knockdown in his career, in the same bracket, labelling the latter a ‘complete fighter’.

The Guadalajara native will have to muster up a performance from his prime years, similar to the ‘GGG’ rematch win, to add to his Hall of Fame career, or face an unexpected upset from a boxer looking to end his career with the biggest notch available.

“Tank Is Finished”  Gervonta Davis Faces Harsh Criticism for Prioritizing Money Over Boxing

Throughout his career, Gervonta Davis has impressed with his power, speed and presence in the ring. But in recent months, the spotlight is no longer on his talent, but on his financial ambition. The theory that Davis has lost his competitive focus and is only looking for big paydays before retiring is growing stronger

Tim Bradley, former world champion and current boxing analyst, was blunt: “Tank is finished. He’s already mentally hung up the gloves.” This statement lit up social media and reignited the debate over whether Davis’ current approach is damaging his legacy.

The fights Gervonta Davis prioritizes: Jake Paul, Pacquiao or Ryan Garcia?

Instead of looking for clashes with top active boxers, Gervonta Davis seems to lean towards flashy duels, but less demanding in sporting terms. Possible opponents such as Jake Paul or even a retired legend like Manny Pacquiao are mentioned as his next options.

These are fights that generate millions of dollars in box office and PPV, although they do little for boxing prestige. His biggest payday so far was against Ryan Garcia in 2023, pocketing around $30 million. Since then, the competitive motivation seems to have waned.

He’s no longer focused on the sport

According to Bradley, Davis has lost the spark and discipline that took him to the top. His analysis points to an obvious mental disconnection, especially in his most recent fight against Lamont Roach, where he looked out of shape, with no rhythm or energy. “He’s thinking about something else. He doesn’t want to know about boxing anymore,” said the former fighter.

Most alarmingly, Bradley says, Tank has openly refused to fight Shakur Stevenson, one of the most technical and dangerous opponents around today. Even if he were offered millions or luxurious incentives, Davis seems unwilling to take the risk in such a demanding fight.

Tank Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson

Many fans believe that Tank Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson would be a historic fight. However, Shakur’s defensive, tactical style, which is difficult to connect with, does not seem to appeal to Davis. In addition, a possible defeat against a young and rising rival would tarnish his image.

Shakur would run him all over the fight. Even if Tank won, it would be an ugly fight. He doesn’t need that drama,” experts say. In contrast, a loss to Pacquiao would be more “acceptable” in the eyes of the public, as he is a legend.

Gervonta Davis seems to have reached a crossroads. On the one hand, he has millions in the bank and a legion of fans; on the other, he faces doubts about his legacy and his love for boxing. Tim Bradley said bluntly: “Tank is mentally out, he’s already thinking about retirement”.

Andrea Wieland Digs Up a Touching Tale About Tiger Woods — All Thanks to a Cereal Box

Tiger Woods: Golf is always on the lookout for the next generation of inquiring minds to follow in the footsteps of Amanda Ballionis, Amy Rogers, Cara Banks and Beth Ann Nichols as golf’s best female interviewers. But we’ll leave it to you to determine if Andrea Wieland passed her audition last week when the uber-successful UW-Whitewater women’s golf coach got one question during an audience with Tiger Woods.

First, some background: Wieland was in Dallas with son Kade and his friend/caddie Luke Weiss of Middleton for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Trinity Forest Golf Club. The week before leaving for The Big D, the Wielands learned that Kade would be playing in the group in front of Charlie Woods, the 16-year-old son of golf’s 15-time major championship winner.

Kade Wieland, one of four Wisconsin golfers in the field, shot 80-77 and missed qualifying for the match-play portion of the week by 13 strokes. His mom walked every step of the 36 holes and, from time-to-time, her path crossed with Tiger Woods and Charlie’s mom, Elin Nordegren on a pair of sweltering days with temperatures topping out at 97 degrees and the heat indices reaching 105 on Day 2 of the competition, which made for some, um, smelly spectators.

Apparently, according to Andrea Wieland, not all of them (you can guess where this is going).

Charlie Woods

“It was so hot down there,” she wrote in a text to Wisconsin.Golf. “And sweaty. Hotter than (Wisconsin) when it’s a 100-degree heat index. So the second hole (actually No. 11 at Brook Hollow GC, used to handle the 264 golfers competing for the 64 match-play berths) is where Tiger walked near me for the first time. And there were plenty of stinky people down there so I did notice that somebody in his group smelled really good.

wasn’t until probably the third or fourth time that I saw him that it was actually him that smelled really good. Then maybe on the seventh or eighth hole (downwind, there was quite a breeze), I realized it was definitely Tiger.”

With that, Andrea Wieland made it her mission to learn what Tiger Woods was wearing to make him stand out – in a good way – in the Texas humidity. The mother of two young golfers (oldest son Brett is a rising sophomore at UW-Green Bay), Wieland told of the trend among teenage boys, perhaps inspired by what they see on TikTok, in which they shop online for fragrances “to smell good for their own body type,” especially junior golfers in the literal heat of competition. She phoned a friend, described by Wieland as “a bit of a fragrance snob,” and told her Woods’ scent “smelled like cologne, but finished a little sweeter, almost like a fruit” as he walked by.

Fast-forward to Day 2. Kade Wieland, at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds and still a growing 16-year-old boy, gobbled up the last of the cereal in their Airbnb (even though players could eat free at the course). That left nothing for Weiss, so Andrea Wieland said she’d pick up the tab at the course in the players’ lounge, which is where they found Tiger Woods relaxing ahead of Charlie’s late-morning tee time at Trinity Forest, again in the group behind Kade Wieland.

Now, Andrea Wieland could have done Wisconsin golf fans a favor and asked him the question on everyone’s mind: Will Tiger (who turns 50 in December) pair with Madison’s Steve Stricker next June at the American Family Insurance Championship at TPC Wisconsin in Madison?

Charlie Woods Turns Down Title Defense for Shot at Bigger Spotlight

Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, had little time to recover from the bruises he sustained at the US Junior Amateur. Just a week after missing the cut in Dallas, the younger Woods is back in another top-rated event.

Curiously, Charlie Woods should have been defending his title in the South Florida PGA Junior Cup, the 2025 edition of which starts this Monday. However, the youngest son of the 18-time major winner will not be present at that tournament.

The reason for his absence? Charlie is in Indiana to play in the Junior PGA Championship, beginning Tuesday at the Purdue University golf facilities. This is one of the premier junior golf events in the country, featuring tournaments for boys and girls simultaneously.

This will be Charlie’s first appearance in this event, where his legendary father finished runner-up once during his illustrious junior golf career.

The boys’ Junior PGA Championship tournament will be played on Purdue University’s Ackerman-Allen Course. The field features 156 players, including top-ranked golfers Miles Russell and Luke Colton. Recent US Junior Amateur champion Hamilton Coleman will not be present.

The tournament will have a stroke-play format, similar to most professional events. The top 60 players plus ties will make the cut after 36 holes and play the final two rounds to determine the champion.

A year ago, Baylor Larrabee won the event at the Congressional Country Club. He is currently on the UCLA golf team and cannot defend his title at Purdue because he is no longer age eligible.

The girls’ event will be played simultaneously on Purdue University’s Kampen-Cosler Course. It will feature the same characteristics as the boys’ tournament, and the No. 2-ranked player in the country, Asterisk Talley, leads the field.

Charlie Woods

Charlie missed the cut in the US Junior Amateur after carding a terrible first-round 81 at Brook Hollow Golf Club. A day later, he improved significantly and carded a 74 at Trinity Forest, but his fate was already sealed, and he couldn’t advance beyond the stroke-play phase.

“Despite Crawford KO, Shawn Porter Dares to Size Up His Chances Against Canelo at 168

Shawn Porter retired after a loss to Terence Crawford and has now weighed in on the pound-for-pound star’s fight against Canelo Alvarez.

Crawford last fought at super welterweight but will jump uo two divisions to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super middleweight world title

The fight, when first mentioned, seemed unrealistic, with Canelo showing little interest and claiming he would get no credit for beating the smaller man. His opinion has changed since signing a deal with Riyadh Season, and the bout was officially announced last month.

Speaking to the Ring Magazine, Porter – who was fighting well against Crawford in 2021 before a tenth round stoppage loss – said that even despite the weight advantage for Canelo, it is a pick ’em fight.

“Terence is taller than him, has the reach. I’m telling you, that’s a 50/50 fight.”

Terence Crawford

Crawford will have taken confidence from Canelo’s last outing against William Scull, where the Cuban, though he lost on the cards, stayed out of harm’s way for the duration of the contest, leading many to believe that the Mexican has lost a step when it comes to cutting off the ring.

Still, Canelo is undefeated in the super-middleweight ranks and there is no arguing that if and when he lands on ‘Bud’ Crawford, the American won’t have taken a shot like that under the lights in the entirety of his pro campaign.

The pair face off on September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas.

“I’m Telling You He Gets Beat” Tim Bradley Makes Bold Gervonta Davis vs Manny Pacquiao Prediction

Manny Pacquiao‘s team has made it clear that they would take a fight against Gervonta Davis as he continues his comeback.

The Filipino fighting legend returned to the ring this month after four years out to challenge for the WBC Welterweight World Title. Though champion Mario Barrios retained the belt with a majority draw on the cards, many observes felt Pacquiao did enough to win.

Despite not leaving the ring with the belt, Pacquiao’s performance convinced some fans and analysts that he can have at least one more fight. Though a rematch with Barrios seems to make the most sense, the 46-year-old’s advisor, Sean Gibbons, said he would much rather make a fight against either Rolando Romero, another welterweight champion, or Gervonta Davis, who currently holds the WBA lightweight belt.

Though ‘Tank’ Davis would be fighting at a career highest weight to make it happen, many feel his youth and power is something Pacquiao should steer clear of. That does not include Tim Bradley

Gervonta davis

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, the Hall of Fame inductee said that ‘PacMan’ has a chance of beating Davis due to the latter’s focus.

“I know all y’all Tank fans are gonna come at me, ‘oh you don’t know’ – I’m telling you. And if he gets in that ring and he ain’t all the way focused, bro, he gonna get beat by Manny Pacquiao. If they’re gonna do it he’s gonna get beat by Manny Pacquiao if he ain’t all the way focused in the ring, seriously.”

Does Bradley feel that Davis has what it takes to get focused? No.

“That’s my take on, Tank, man. I think he’s done. It’s the issues outside the ring. It’s the fact that he wants to change. He has a lot of things on his mind that he wants to do and he’s kind of sick of the sport of boxing.”

Gervonta davis

Davis was last out in a controversial title defence against Lamont Roach Jr, and all signs pointed towards an immediate rematch. This opportunity against Pacquiao may see him change course.

“Charlie Woods Carves His Name Into Family Legacy With First Major Junior Golf Victory

Charlie Woods took home the Team TaylorMade Invitational title Wednesday at the Streamsong Resort Black Course in Bowling Green, Florida, for his first American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) victory.

Woods began the day tied at 9-under and finished with a final-round 66 to come out on top of a 71-player field that included four of the top five players in the AJGA.

Woods’ final round featured eight birdies and two bogeys, and he closed with four straight pars. He won the event by three strokes ahead of fifth-ranked Luke Colton, Willie Gordon and Phillip Dunham.

Woods opened the tournament with a first-round 70 but followed with a 65 Tuesday. He was competing in just his fifth AJGA event, and his previous best finish was a tie for 25th at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in March.

Woods already has several wins on his resume, with his first coming in the 14-15-year-old category at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Major Championship in June 2023. Later that year, he won the Last Chance Regional golf tournament.

Charlie Woods

Last summer, he qualified to compete at the U.S. Junior Amateur but failed to make the cut. He recorded his first-ever hole-in-one at the PNC Championship, where he teamed up with his father.

His dad has 82 professional wins, tied with Sam Snead for the most ever. Fifteen of those victories have come in majors, and his last major win was the unforgettable 2019 Masters.

Tiger, who has not won a tournament since the 2019 Zozo, is recovering from a ruptured Achilles he sustained just weeks before this year’s Masters. In 18 official events since finishing tied for ninth at the 2020 Farmers Insurance Open, his best finish was a tie for 37th at the 2020 PGA Championship.

“What’s Next for Charlie Woods? Social Media Spirals After Alarming Golf Setback”

Charlie Woods has been making headlines for the last few days, after missing a cut at one of the prestigious junior tournaments.

Every time he plays, he’s under the public’s watchful eye, and the expectations week after week are really high.

How to deal with such pressure?

Being a 16-year-old boy implies a lack of experience and weaker coping mechanisms, but most believe that Tiger Woods can be the one to guide him on the right path.

The 16-year-old has had some lackluster games this year, but also some superior ones, with it being difficult to predict how much potential Charlie really has.

After a recent setback in a junior tournament, the public reacted with mixed feelings about the young golfer’s future.

Reactions

Social media is full of comments about Charlie Woods, and one golf fan reminded everyone that the most important thing for Charlie is simply to enjoy playing the game.

Charlie Woods

“If he makes it or not it’s ok. It’s great to see him playing a game he loves. And something him and his dad can do for a long time to come. Best game in the world..“- one of the fans wrote.

One of the fans was also a voice of reason, saying that it’s hard to deal with the pressure when you have a father who is a golf icon.

“He’s gotten better, but as most kids that have a father who was the greatest of all time….gonna be a tough road..”- he wrote.

Some reminded of athletes from history who had parents who dominated in a certain sport.

Tiger has set the bar so high that few can even come close.

He is going to be a okay golfer. usually kids wants to be like their parent and they are never good as their parent.  he has to much pressure on him..”

kai Trump

There are those who believe that a 16-year-old does not have the quality needed to be nearly as dominant as his father.

Maybe he just isn’t that good yet but you guys are acting like he’s about to win a major..”- one of the fans wrote.

Either way, time will tell.

“Joshua’s Future in Doubt? Heavyweight Star Leaves Fans Guessing with Bold Retirement Hint”

Anthony Joshua was once the biggest British boxer, who provided his home fans with someone to get behind at the top level, since Lennox Lewis, he was the darling of the nation, especially after he clamied all but one of the belts in his April 2017 stoppage of Wladimir Klitschko, where the WBA and IBO belts joined the IBF strap in his cabinet.

The problem is that victory was over eight years ago, and Joshua hasn’t beaten some of that calibre since and in recent times, every time he has fought someone of that level, he’s lost badly. It now appears the Watford man himself shares the sentiment of many, and that is he should call it a day, if his Instagram story is anything to go by.

Joshua posted a tribute to his promoter Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, who Joshua has been with his whole career, in that post there was one line that suggested his career won’t see 2026.
