Rematch: Tyson Fury theory emerges as Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois rematch revenge prediction made

Spencer Oliver believes Daniel Dubois will beat Oleksandr Usyk because of the champion’s gruelling bouts with Tyson Fury.

Dubois first faced Usyk in a controversial clash in 2023 where he dropped the Ukrainian with a low blow, but was subsequently stopped.

Since then, the Briton has been on a hot streak and has earned a rematch on July 19 at Wembley Stadium with the undisputed world titles on the line.

Usyk since then has beaten fellow divisional top dog Tyson Fury twice in two 12-round slug fests, and is an overwhelming favourite to beat Dubois once again.

But talkSPORT boxing expert and former European champion Oliver expects Usyk to have lost an edge following his tussles with Fury.

He explained on the latest episode of talkBOXING: “Daniel Dubois beats Oleksandr Usyk.

“I know Daniel Dubois, I have seen him work and know what they are working on tactically.

“They seemed quite far apart in 2023, Usyk was leagues apart from Dubois then.

“But he [Usyk] has not got much better since fighting Dubois, there is a lot of miles on the clock since then.

“The two fights with Fury have put miles on the clock with Usyk, but Dubois has improved dramatically physically and mentally since then.

“This is a completely different fight since the first one, I’m tipping Dubois.”

Dubois has three impressive victories since his defeat to Usyk, which began by beating Filip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller.

And in a career-best display, ‘Dynamite’ beat Anthony Joshua with an emphatic KO in September 2024 to galvanise his career.

A world champion and brimming with confidence, Dubois knows what it takes on the big stage and is fuelled by anguish from their previous controversy.

But Usyk is unbeaten and has dismantled a whole resume filled with top talent and gifted operators.

“I’ve changed. I’ve learn from that,” Dubois told talkSPORT.com.

“There were a lot of things going into that fight. I’ve learnt from it now. I’m going to put it right.

“There’s been a lot of pain from what happened last time. So I want to get my revenge.

“I’m nailing him to the canvas this time.

“When I close my eyes, I see a spectacular win, a spectacular knockout.”

Terence Crawford gives Conor Benn bluntly honest advice ahead of confirmed rematch with Chris Eubank Jr.

Terence Crawford: Conor Benn will get the opportunity to get revenge on bitter rival Chris Eubank Jr. when the British fighters meet in a rematch.

Benn and Eubank Jr. have been confirmed to fight for a second time in London on September 20th, as the rivals will once again compete in a middleweight bout.

In footage captured by Boxing News, Crawford and Benn had an interaction with one another, where they discussed the upcoming rematch with Eubank Jr.

The start of the video shows Crawford telling Benn, “That’s what was ——- you up, pulling out.” The British fighter responded by saying, “There’s a few adjustments to be made and we’ll just work on it.”

‘Bud’ then told the now 23-1 star that he needs to improve his fitness for the second fight. “Get in more shape. You got a little tired [in the first fight]. You hurt him, you were just too tired to [finish him], you know?”

Benn’s response was, “There’s a few things that we need to work on, and get it sorted.”

The footage ended with Crawford reiterating to Benn, “You’ve got to stop pulling out.”

Although it has been confirmed that the British rivals will compete in London, an exact venue has not yet been announced.

Although Eubank Jr. feels as if he has an advantage going into the rematch, Benn will aim to get his family their first win in four meetings against the Eubanks.

Former undisputed world champion Terence Crawford has told Benn what needs to be done for him to get the victory in the rematch.

It was originally stated after their first meeting that Eubank Jr. and Benn would once again compete at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, their rematch may take place elsewhere.

Wembley Stadium has been mentioned as a potential venue for the British dust-up to follow in the footsteps of Carl Froch and George Groves’ epic rematch.

It would tempt a ‘lot of people to watch’ Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul , says promoter Eddie Hearn

Jake Paul reiterated his desire to fight Anthony Joshua at the weekend; The British heavyweight’s promoter Eddie Hearn admitted the fight would generate massive public demand and financial reward’; Paul defeated former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr on Saturday night

Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul would tempt a ‘lot of people’ to watch the fight, says the British heavyweight’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

The YouTuber turned professional fighter called for an audacious clash against Joshua, a two-time world champion, in the aftermath of his unanimous decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr last weekend.

Joshua is expected to return in November or December this year after elbow surgery and Hearn admitted that a future showdown with Paul would create massive public demand and financial reward.

“I think you have to give Jake his props and look he’s a disruptor, he wants to create mad moments,” Hearn told Sky Sports.

“If he wants to be mad enough to get in the ring with Anthony Joshua and make several tens of potentially hundreds of millions, he will do it, Jake Paul.

“Will AJ? He’s his own man, but I will be saying, ‘Yeah, go on mate. Go and deal with this guy. Get him out of the game.’

“I think a lot of people will tune in to watch. Is it a fight that I think should be happening? No, not really, but we live in a completely crazy world, especially in the world of boxing where you just never know.”

Paul has said: “Anthony Joshua is an insane fight, but I want that challenge.

“We’ve been DM-ing back and forth. He wants to make it happen. He called me up and it’s looking very likely for next year.”

Paul can challenge for world title

Anthony joshua

Paul, who fights at cruiserweight, would have to step up in weight for a Joshua fight.

But he has now entered the World Boxing Association’s cruiserweight rankings at No 14, making him eligible to challenge WBA champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez.

“I want tougher fighters. I want to be a world champion,” Paul said after defeating Chavez.

“Zurdo looked slow tonight. That’d be easy work, too.”

Hearn insisted that Paul deserves credit for a career-best performance against Chavez, a former WBC middleweight champion.

He said: “I’ve surprised myself this week because I haven’t given him the respect that I think he deserves, which is look this guy has been fighting for a while now in big events around the world.

Anthony joshua

“He went into the game as a complete novice. I think he’s made big improvements as a boxer. I think he’s taking things seriously. I don’t think he’s a YouTuber anymore. I think he’s a professional boxer.

“Is he top 15 in the world? Don’t be so ridiculous. But is he top 100 in the world? Maybe and by the way, I know that might not sound as a compliment, that’s a big compliment.

“I think his [boxing] IQ is improving. I think he can whack. I think he can take a shot. He beat Chavez who is a washed up guy but he was a former world champion that did train for that fight.”

“Get him out of boxing” Eddie Hearn praises Jake Paul but implores Anthony Joshua to “Get him out of boxing”

Anthony Joshua: Over the weekend, Jake Paul had another boxing event in which he was better than his opponent. But in the process, he once again showed that his choice of opponent isn’t changing the stigma around him as a boxer. No one can take him too seriously as a pure boxer because of the level of opponents he has faced.

Paul has claimed that he’s ready to take a major step up in competition following his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The problem is that we’ve heard it from him before. If he’s serious this time, though, we could be set for a truly explosive next fight. Paul went so far as to call out two completely opposite fighters in Gervonta Davis and Anthony Joshua. Both seem outlandish all things considered.

For one, both would be far and away the most accomplished and dangerous fighters Paul has faced so far. They also aren’t even in his weight class. Davis is 60 pounds lighter than Paul, while Joshua is around 40 pounds heavier. Neither makes sense, but if Paul is serious, Joshua’s promoter says why not?

Anthony joshua

Eddie Hearn was asked about Paul calling out Joshua, and Hearn surprisingly had a lot of praise for Paul, saying he deserves respect for taking boxing seriously for so many years. Hearn also doesn’t mind the idea of Joshua fighting Paul, especially since it will lead to a lot of money for everyone involved. But he also sent Paul a warning in the process.

If he wants to be mad enough to get into a ring with Anthony Joshua and make several tens or potentially hundreds of millions, [Paul] will do it. Will AJ? He’s his own man, but I will be saying, ‘Go and deal with this guy, get him out of the game’. And I think a lot of people would tune in to watch. But is it a fight that I think should be happening? No, not really, but we live in a completely crazy world. You just never know.

He is Not Next for ‘Tank’ Gervonta Davis’s next fight uncertain as fighter who drew with ‘Tank’ speaks on potential rematch

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is considered one of the pound-for-pound stars of the sport as he boasts a 30-0-1 record.

The only fighter that Davis has not been able to beat is Lamont Roach. Fighting in New York in March, Davis and Roach fought to a draw, as ‘Tank’ received the first blemish on his professional record.

The now 25-1-2 Roach was able to snap the star’s winning streak, with Davis even taking a knee in the fight supposedly due to hair grease entering his eye.

Due to the close nature of the fight, many expect Davis to once again face Roach in his next outing. However, all is not confirmed for the lightweight rematch.

Lamont Roach unable to confirm if Gervonta Davis has signed rematch contract

Roach, who is unbeaten since 2019, recently spoke to TMZ regarding a potential future fight with Davis.

‘The Reaper’ started by sending a warning to Davis, saying, “Meet me in the middle of the ring. We’re going to see who leaves out the ring.”

Gervonta davis

When Roach was then asked by the reporter, “There’s a rumour that Tank hasn’t signed a contract yet, can you speak to that?”, the fighter responded, “No, I can’t speak to that.”

Roach then added, “I’m not saying he didn’t sign the contract,” while rolling his eyes and smiling.

When asked if he thought that Davis was scared of a rematch with him, Roach answered, “I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s scared of me, as a man. But, he’s scared to get embarrassed.”

Alternative opponents for Gervonta Davis if Lamont Roach is not next for ‘Tank’

Should Roach not be next for the WBA World Lightweight champion, ‘Tank’ is by no means short of options for his next opponent.

Gervonta davis

Rising contender Floyd Schofield scored a first-round knockout over former world champion Tevin Farmer at the weekend, and is now ranked as the number one contender by the WBA at lightweight.

Davis and Shakur Stevenson have traded barbs over the years, meaning they might look to finally settle their feud in a lightweight unification bout.

Keyshawn Davis also has a feud with Gervonta Davis, meaning they could be viable opponents for one another.

Amir Khan:Terence Crawford Lists Fear Of Things That Worry Him About Canelo Alvarez

After years of waiting, Terence Crawford vs Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is finally going to take place.

Terence Crawford and Canelo will face off on 13 September in Las Vegas for the Mexican’s undisputed super-middleweight world championship.

Both are considered to be two of the best pound-for-pound fighters of this generation and know that defeat for either could mean the end for them at the top.

Amir Khan has previously warned Crawford about fighting Canelo and while the American is confident he can get the job done, he did once admit there were two parts of his opponent’s style that concern him.

Terence Crawford fears Canelo’s power

Over the years, Canelo has developed a fierce reputation for the power in his shots.

More than half of his fights have ended in a knockout victory for the Mexican and while Crawford isn’t fazed about facing him, Canelo’s “power and size” is something that could cause problems.

Terence Crawford

He told TMZ Sports in September 2024: “This fight is massive, definitely.

“You’ve got two guys that are top three pound-for-pound, going head to head with each other.

“I understand Canelo is bigger than me, but I’m up for the challenge. I think it’s a very intriguing fight.”

Manny Pacquiao has controversial Canelo vs Crawford opinion

Everyone is keen to predict how this fight plays out – even if it is still months away.

Manny Pacquiao is no different and ahead of his own return to the ring, the eight-time champion across three separate weight categories is backing Canelo to take home the win, but it will be his most difficult test yet.

Terence Crawford

Via Marca, he said: “It’s not easy for Crawford. I mean, Canelo has a big advantage, but Crawford needs to control his physique, his speed and his power because he’s moving up in weight.

“When I talk about skill, they have to understand what I say. It takes skill to beat practically Terence Crawford and to fight Bivol, Plant, Triple G and others. He must have skill in his fists and in how he conducts himself in the ring. Will he have that skill? I think he will.”

I Don’t Doubt “He’ll Win” Manny Pacquiao Makes His Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford Prediction: “He’ll Win”

Terence Crawford: Manny Pacquiao has weighed in on the upcoming ‘super-fight’ between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

After weeks of speculation it was finally confirmed earlier this month that the pound-for-pound stars will do battle on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo is set to make the first defence of his undisputed super-middleweight championship against ‘Bud’ in what is his second reign as champion after he defeated IBF champion William Scull in Riyadh on May 3.

Eight-division world champion Pacquiao has spoken out and shared his thoughts on the upcoming showdown between Canelo and Crawford, which has been regarded by many as being the ‘biggest fight in boxing’.

Whilst speaking to ESNEWS, Pacquiao didn’t hesitate to give his backing to Mexican icon Canelo, who has been a dominant force at super-middleweight since he made the jump up from 160lbs seven years ago.

Since making his debut at 168lbs against Rocky Fielding in 2018, Canelo has gone on to defeat the likes of Gennady Golovkin, Jermell Charlo and Jaime Munguia amongst others.

He made a brief move up to light-heavyweight to dethrone WBO champion Sergey Kovalev in 2019, but fell short in his second outing at 175lbs against former undisputed champion Dmitry Bivol three years later.

As for Crawford, the 37-year-old from Omaha is bidding to become the first three-weight undisputed champion of all time, having already achieved this feat at super-lightweight and welterweight.

Waited for years, It Is Now Anthony Joshua In Haste to KO The Bronze Bomber’ in surprise location years before his drab comeback win

Anthony Joshua’s return to the ring has been delayed after an injury, but his return could see the making of a fight fans have wanted for years.

For years fans have requested Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder, and on several occasions a fight between the pair seemed like the logical next move.

In 2023 the fight got close once again, with AJ and Wilder co-heading a double bill that aimed to set up the mega-fight. Whilst AJ held up his end, Wilder lost to Joseph Parker by unanimous decision.

Despite Wilder’s series of losses, he has returned with a win over Tyrrell Herndon, which could now set up a fight with Joshua sometime at the end of the year.

Joshua wanted the fight seven years ago, and had an out-of-the-box idea regarding its location.

Anthony Joshua wanted to stage Deontay Wilder fight in Nigeria seven years ago

Seven years ago, in 2017, IFL spoke to AJ ahead of his fight against Carlos Takam in Cardiff, Wales.

In that interview, AJ spoke on his upcoming fight, which he won via 10th-round TKO, but also spoke on the Deontay Wilder fight, and where it should be hosted.

The topic arose when Joshua was asked if he thought he’d ever fight in his home country of Nigeria.

Joshua said, “It could happen. It just has to be the right fight. I think me and Wilder, God willing that fight comes off which it has to, would be good for Nigeria, but then it’s good for Vegas as well.”

Wilder and Joshua are both of Nigerian heritage, so the location is not unreasonable for the mega-fight between the pair.

Ahead of his fight with Herndon, it was revealed that Wilder had parted ways with his trainer Malik Scott, who oversaw just one win in his time with ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Wilder knocked out Scott as an opponent years before they teamed up.

Wilder teamed up with Don House, who used to coach Bermane Stiverne, the only man Wilder has beaten on points.

Stiverne broke Wilder’s 32-KO streak when they fought for the world title, but was ironed out in one round in their rematch.

£218,000 Per DAY: Gypsy King Tyson Fury’s staggering 9-figure fortune revealed as Gypsy King, 36, banks £218k PER DAY

Tyson Fury: Former heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury is earning a staggering £218,000 a day. The 36-year-old’s private company, which he uses to manage his earnings, boasts assets exceeding £160million. Tyson Fury Limited reported an impressive profit of £79million between September 2023 and last September, according to recently filed accounts. Its net worth has nearly doubled from the previous year’s £82million, according to The Mirror.

Fury, who lists his profession as “professional boxer”, is the sole director of the company. The accounts reveal a dividend payment of £100,000 to Fury, which is £50,000 less than what he paid himself the previous year. The business does not report any turnover on Companies House, so it remains unclear how much revenue it generated. The company’s operations are listed as “other letting and operating of own or leased real estate, public relations and communications activities, as well as other sports activities.”

Father-of-seven Fury established his company in 2013, and the twelve-month period covered by the accounts predates his retirement following his December 2024 defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. However, it does include his loss to the towering Ukrainian last June, where he lost his heavyweight title.

The two boxers shared a jaw-dropping £150 million for their December bout in Saudi Arabia, which Fury lost on points. While the fighter is not in a hurry to return to the ring, he remains bitter about the result.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman recently said: “I call him regularly and he said: ‘Oh I’m so happy, retired, I’m here with my wife.’ He didn’t hint whatsoever that he was planning on coming back.

“He told me he was not happy with the decision in the second fight with Usyk. He’s still very bitter about the judges’ scoring and he was very upset but he was retired, that’s what he said.”

The Gypsy King, as Fury is affectionately known, resides with his family in a sprawling £1.7m Morecambe mansion.

Fury’s taste for the finer things is evident with a collection of luxury motors, including two Rolls-Royces at £384,000 apiece, alongside a flashy red Ferrari Portofino and a high-speed £200,000 Porsche GT3 RS, yet maintains a nod to modesty with a £20,000 Vauxhall Passat and a Mini Cooper.

After knockout taunt Boxing star Anthony Joshua issued a warning to American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul

British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua has issued a warning to American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul following a taunt about his previous knockout defeats, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Paul, 28, revealed in a recent interview with The Sun that he and the former two-time heavyweight champion had been exchanging private messages earlier this year, during which he mocked Joshua over his knockout losses. However, the trolling prompted a stern response from the 35-year-old.

According to Paul, the last message he received from Joshua carried a clear and menacing tone.

“He said, ‘I can’t wait to fight. You’re gonna be fighting for your life and you’ll know the feeling that I’ve gone through.’ Or something like that,” Paul told SunSport, admitting it was the last time he heard from Joshua.

The brewing tension has fuelled speculation about a possible future clash between both men, with Paul expressing his desire to face Joshua in front of a hostile British crowd.

“My first fight was in front of an English crowd and it’s rowdy,” Paul said.

“I love walking into the lions’ den and so me versus Anthony Joshua, 100,000 people chanting ‘f*** Jake Paul’ would be pretty fun for me.”

Joshua, who has not fought since suffering a knockout defeat to fellow Brit Daniel Dubois in September, is currently recovering from elbow surgery.

Despite his recent inactivity, he remains a formidable presence in the heavyweight scene.

Paul, meanwhile, continues to blur the lines between entertainment and elite boxing. His controversial exhibition bout against boxing legend Mike Tyson was watched by over 100 million viewers on Netflix.

Paul won the eight-round fight, though it drew widespread criticism due to Tyson’s age.

As he returned to the ring on Sunday, beating former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a dominant points victory, Paul remains focused on climbing the ranks.

“I think it’s back to the drawing board after this, especially depending on what the WBC and WBA rank me after I win,” he said.

“If they rank me in the position where I can go for a world championship, then we’re gonna try and get that done.”
