“He’ll Be Seeing The Canvas” Says Canelo vs Terence Crawford Will Ends In A Knockout

Terence Crawford is just months away from challenging Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez for his undisputed super middleweight world championship. Rolando Romero has little doubt how the action plays out.

Crawford will make the jump up two divisions from his last outing for the fight, looking to be the first man to defeat Canelo at the weight of 168 lbs. The Mexican has previously lost to Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol, but is yet to be bested at super-middleweight, where he has beaten the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Caleb Plant and Jaime Munguia.

Rolly’ Romero, who is coming off a career best victory over Ryan Garcia, told FightHype that the weight is too much of a factor to give ‘Bud’ Crawford a chance.

“He’s 38 years old. Yeah, he saw something in Canelo. He’s about to see the canvas.

Terence Crawford

“Bivol was way bigger than Canelo. The same s*** that you saw Canelo fighting Bivol is the same s*** of Crawford moving up two weight classes to fight Canelo. Bivol is not a puncher. Canelo was trying to win the whole time, but Bivol was too big.

“Crawford is going to go in there and box Canelo’s head off the same way Amir Khan did, and out of nowhere, boom. Then we’re going to see a dead roach on the ground.”

The boxing world is split as to who comes out on top, with many opinions recently changing after Canelo’s underwhelming fight with William Scull. Crawford, however, has it all to do against a man who is completely bedded in at the weight he will be making for the first time

The American’s last outing came in August of 2024, a points win over previously undefeated Israel Madrimov to capture the WBA Super Welterweight World Title. The result ended an eleven-fight stoppage streak for ‘Bud’, perhaps showing that his power is unlikely to carry up. He faces Canelo on September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas.

Terence Crawford has received yet another vote of confidence in his clash with Canelo Alvarez — this time from a seasoned Mexican trainer.

The Omaha fighter has had support from across the boxing world, including former champion Shannon Briggs, who believes he stops Alvarez late.

Terence Crawford has been full of belief for the bout despite a natural weight disadvantage as he comes up for his first super middleweight figh

One disadvantage heading into the fight for the American would be activity, as he competed last September, whereas Canelo has fought as recently as May.

Robert Garcia believes Terence Crawford has a ‘big’ chance due to Canelo being ‘comfortable’

However, Robert Garcia, the current trainer of Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, thinks the timing of this fight benefits the 37-year-old.

In an interview, he explained: “Most of the people don’t give Crawford a chance due to the size, but he’s got skills, he’s got good speed, footwork, that’s why I do give him a chance.

Terence Crawford

“Canelo’s last few fights, he gets his work done, but he never does that little extra to please, he knows he doesn’t need to anymore, he is comfortable enough with just securing the win.”

Garcia still thinks the Mexican comes in as favourite, but he believes he has morphed from a boxer to something else.

He said: “He became a businessman, that is something in favour of Crawford… at this stage, I am giving Crawford a big chance of pulling it off.”

Anthony Joshua trainer Robert Garcia was a super featherweight world champion before success as a coach

Before training big names like Anthony Joshua and Mikey Garcia, Garcia was a successful professional in his own right.

From 1992 to 2001, he was a super featherweight fighter who won the IBF title, which he defended twice successfully.

Terence Crawford

Known by the nickname ‘The Grandpa’, he amassed 34 wins with a 73% knockout ratio.

In his three losses, he was knocked out three times, including by legendary name Diego Corrales, the former two-weight world champion.

Maybe not one of his most famous moments, but Corrales landed a sickening straight right hand to floor Garcia and end the fight.

Now using his experience to train the next generation, he has so far guided Nonito Donaire and Rodriguez to success in world title fights.

With two Trainer of the Year awards under his belt already, maybe he can add another if his fighters continue their 2025 success.

Eddie Hearn Sparks Buzz with Revelation of High-Stakes Talks for Anthony Joshua’s Next Showdown

Anthony Joshua, once regarded as one of the best and most dangerous heavyweights in boxing, appears interested in taking on a second crossover fight.

Joshua entertained a non-traditional boxing fight before, when he took on, and then finished, the former UFC heavyweight ruler Francis Ngannou in just two brutal rounds. Ngannou had previously shook up the world as he put Tyson Fury on the deck in a prior bout, but Joshua beat him with ease

He has since lost in dramatic fashion to Daniel Dubois, and has held “discussions” about his comeback through his representative, Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn. Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, Hearn revealed the full plans for Joshua’s next fight, and talked about the possibility of a potential bizarre showdown with Jake Paul.

Although it had seemed that boxing was finally going to deliver an anticipated all-British heavyweight showdown between Joshua and Tyson Fury, that is no longer happening due to the Gypsy King’s retirement. Hearn said that, although a fight against Fury is out of the picture for 2025, that is a fight they are going to target, regardless, going into 2026.

But, between now and then, bouts against Joseph Parker, Agit Kabayel or Martin Bakole seem logical. One that may not have seemed logical, is against Paul. But boxing is stranger than fiction.

Hearn said the following to Pro Boxing Fans: “I was with His Excellency yesterday, obviously he’d met Jake Paul, I think he would like to do it, you know, but it’s mad enough to happen. It’s not something we expected.

“If it’s offered to us I would be shocked if AJ didn’t accept it, why wouldn’t you?”

Hearn added: “The plan for us is to fight Tyson Fury next year, if we can squeeze in Jake Paul along the way and you guys want AJ to end this whole process, he’ll gladly do it.”

With Turki Alalshikh seemingly keen on making Joshua vs Paul, it seems anything is possible and there is a real chance we see Joshua take on Paul, before he takes on ‘The Gypsy King’ in 2026.

“Their Secret Strength, How Gervonta Davis and Vanessa Poso’s Love Endures in the Eye of Fame”

In a world where fame often overshadows the heart, Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Vanessa Poso have found a way to keep love at the center of their story. The undefeated boxing champion, known for his ferocity in the ring, shows a far softer side when it comes to his relationship with the stunning model and influencer, Vanessa.

Their connection blossomed quietly, away from the media frenzy, and over time has grown into a bond that radiates trust, passion, and unwavering support. Whether it’s Vanessa cheering ringside during Davis’ electrifying bouts or Davis showing off quiet moments of affection on social media, the chemistry between the two is undeniable.

Vanessa, with her grace and grounded presence, seems to bring a calming balance to Davis’ intense world of training camps and title defenses. And in return, Davis often expresses how much she means to him—both publicly and privately—making it clear she holds a special place in his heart.

Their relationship hasn’t been without its tests, but like any lasting love, it’s in the challenges where their commitment truly shines. From romantic getaways to heartfelt birthday tributes, the couple continues to show that behind Gervonta’s warrior exterior lies a man deeply in love.

As fans cheer for Davis in the ring, many are also quietly rooting for his love story with Vanessa—a tale of passion, resilience, and the kind of connection that proves even in the fast-paced world of fame, true love still finds its way.

Would you like a social media version or quotes added from either of them?

“In spite of Gervonta Davis’ legal complications, a bout with Shakur Stevenson is reportedly still being planned.”

Boxer Gervonta Davis is facing a sporting hiatus to deal with his legal troubles. However, promoter Eddie Hearn wants the famous “Tank’s” next fight to be against Shakur Stevenson, although he is not sure if this fight can take place. Even his next fight against Lamont Roach Jr in August is in doubt as to whether it will take place.

Eddie Hearn has a Plan B where if Tank can’t face Stevenson, the promoter can choose between the winners of Andy Cruz against Raymond Muratalla or the winner of Abdullah Mason against Sam Noakes. Hearn still needs to re-sign Stevenson, as his two-fight contract with Matchroom expired with his fight last Saturday night against William Zepeda in Queens, New York.

Shakur Stevenson, a boxer to Eddie Hearn’s liking

For the promoter, it is clear that the trial contract is about to expire so he intends to draw up a new one, but now on a long-term basis. “He has had two fights. We will now talk about an extension with Matchroom. Hopefully we can continue that relationship. We would love to. We have to reach a proper agreement for the fight. I think we can achieve it”, said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV about his desire to renew Shakur Stevenson’s contract.

The petro-dollars are on Hearn’s side, who has the support of Turki Alalshikh, the Arab sheikh and boxing promoter, where he can arrange the fight between Gervonta Davis and Shakur. Only then will the fight be finalized. Tank Davis will want a similar salary to Turki’s, and Hearn could not afford it. The two fights Shakur had with Matchroom were against William Zepeda and Josh Padley. It is worth noting that Hearn did not make the most of the two-fight deal with Shakur because the fight with Floyd Schofield was canceled last February.

Sam Noakes will fight Abdullah Mason for the vacant WBO lightweight title. Andy Cruz will fight Muratalla for the IBF title. Opportunities will arise there. “He will be very difficult to beat,” Hearn said of Shakur. Perhaps Hearn is overdoing it with his praise of Stevenson. Last night’s fight between Stevenson and William Zepeda was one of the toughest of Stevenson’s career. Even running, he suffered because of Zepeda’s pressure.

Gervonta davis

It’s easy to think of that fight and assume that it will be much more difficult for Shakur if he decides to fight the heavyweights, Andy Cruz, Raymond Muratalla or Abdullah Mason. Cruz’s power, speed and technique would be a nightmare for Shakur. Tank Davis still has a rematch with Lamont Roach, scheduled for August 16. However, the fight has not been officially announced and it is questionable whether it will take place on that date. If it is delayed, Shakur will have to look for another option for his next fight. He can’t just wait for Davis.

Rematch Report: PBC Eyes New Dates for Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach Rematch, Targeting August 23 or 30 in Las Vegas

Gervonta Davis’ immediate rematch with Lamont Roach has been pushed back at least another week or two, perhaps longer.
The Ring learned Sunday that representatives for Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions were working over the weekend to determine if the second 12-round, 135-pound championship bout between Davis and Roach could be scheduled for Aug. 23 or 30 in Las Vegas.
PBC intended to hold their WBA lightweight championship rematch Aug. 16 in Las Vegas, but fighting on that date became increasingly unlikely even before Davis was arrested again Friday for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, the mother of two of his children, on June 15 in Doral, Florida.

The Ring reported two months ago that the Davis-Roach rematch would take place Aug. 16, but PBC never announced it for that date.
The Ring has also learned Davis, 30, had stopped training in Miami for approximately three weeks prior to his arrest Friday. It isn’t clear how yet another legal issue could impact his availability to fight next month and beyond.
Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs), of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is obligated to an immediate rematch with Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) because the Baltimore native exercised that contractual right after they fought to a surprising majority draw March 1 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Davis was heavily favored to win.

If Davis is either unable or unwilling to commit to their rematch within a reasonable period of time, however, Roach’s representatives could begin exploring other options for the WBA super featherweight champion’s next fight.
Gervonta davisHandlers for Davis, The Ring’s No. 1-ranked lightweight, and Roach, ranked No. 4 among The Ring’s junior lightweight contenders, first talked about scheduling their rematch for June 21 in Las Vegas. Davis reportedly wanted more time to train, though, which was when the targeted date moved to Aug. 16, four weeks from this Saturday.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya Sends Gervonta Davis Scathing Message For Domestic Violence Arrest

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya is tired of Gervonta “Tank” Davis’ antics after his most recent arrest.

On July 11, boxing superstar and WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, on charges of assault after an alleged domestic violence dispute with his ex-girlfriend.

The incident occurred on June 15, when Davis allegedly struck the woman (with whom he shares two children) on the back of the head and also slapped her in the face while she was removing the children from the back of Davis’ car.

The victim had a cut on her inner lip as a result of this altercation, and her mother, who appeared on the scene after she received a distraught text message from her daughter, had a phone recording where Davis could reportedly be seen throwing an object at his ex-girlfriend.

Davis was released on bail on Friday morning. And videos of him leaving the jail where he was being held have since gone viral on social media.

This isn’t the first time Davis has been connected to a domestic violence case, as he was arrested for allegedly striking a woman (presumably the same woman as this most recent incident) with a “closed hand type slap” in December 2022. However, these charges were ultimately dropped because the woman involved declined to press charges against Davis.

It seems that members of the boxing community are fed up with Davis’ actions. This was shown by comments that the legendary Oscar De La Hoya made when he was asked about Tank’s most recent arrest by Fight Hub TV on July 12.

“He did, huh? Again?” De La Hoya said when told about Davis’ arrest. “Look, I actually like Tank Davis. He’s a good kid, he’s a good fighter, a great fighter, actually. He’s one of my favorites.

“Just get your s*** together, man. That’s it. You don’t hit women, man,” he added.

Date, time, fight card & more info: How to watch Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2

There’s not long to go now until boxing’s undefeated king, Oleksandr Usyk, and Daniel Dubois officially go head-to-head on Saturday, 19th July in London, England. The iconic Wembley Stadium will play host to the match, which has been brewing ever since Usyk completed back-to-back wins against the ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury. But can Dubois make up for his defeat from when they last met?

Ukrainian fighter Usyk beat the Brit when they last met in 2023 in a ninth-round knockout, which was dominated by a controversial low-blow punch from Dubois. With that all behind, though, Dubois has a second opportunity to put his demons and ‘what ifs?’ behind as he gets another shot at beating the undisputed fighter who holds the WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC belts.

Dubois also comes into the fight with the IBF title that Usyk vacated last year, allowing both fighters to leave with more belts than they arrived with. Amidst the Usyk vs Dubois 2 fight buzz, Tyson Fury announced that he intends to reverse his decision to retire from the boxing ring to pursue a trilogy with Usyk.

oleksandr usyk

But, back to the fights and there’s an exciting undercard, including two title fights on the schedule, including Lawrence Okolie’s latest bout at heavyweight as he defends his WBC silver heavyweight title against former world champ Kevin Lerena.

There’s one thing for certain: it’s going to take some doing, as Usyk is one of the greatest fighters to have graced the ring in our time, with the stats backing him up all the way. If that has got you excited to witness some boxing history, then you don’t want to miss any of the action from one of the biggest fights of 2025.

Let GOAL assist you with all the vital pre-fight info you require for Usyk vs Dubois, including info on when and where the event is taking place and how you can watch this year’s boxing blockbuster live.

‘He is 15 times better than, Former Daniel Dubois trainer’s interesting response to Tyson Fury callout

The former Daniel Dubois trainer, Shane McGuigan, has responded to Tyson Fury’s callout of the young heavyweight.

Dubois is preparing to face Oleksandr Usyk for the chance at becoming undisputed champion on July 19th.

Now, during Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight week, McGuigan was asked for his reaction to the comments about his former fighter.

In the interview, he said: “I mean, I don’t know if that is a true comment or not, let’s put it this way, Daniel Dubois is 15 times the fighter Francis Ngannou is.

oleksandr usyk

“I know he might not have been up for it, but in terms of athleticism, that will to win, and he has got a boxing background, he is schooled, he is not like Ngannou.”

The 36-year-old famously won a narrow split decision over the former UFC champion in October 2023.

McGuigan explained: “Styles make fights, he is right, styles make fights in the sense he will cause Daniel a lot of problems, whether he can hold up to that punching power, I am not sure.

“And I think he definitely has the potential to beat Tyson, I don’t think Tyson is at his best anymore, Daniel Dubois is fresher.”

Oleksandr Usyk wants one more fight after Dubois, then retirement

It looks likely that the Ukrainian will hang up the gloves soon, but maybe he should retire after the Dubois clash.

However, this is not on the mind of the Olympic gold medallist just yet if he overcomes the Londoner.

Tyson fury

Speaking in an interview earlier this year, he said: “Now my goal is to become a three-time undisputed. Listen, I love boxing, training hard.

“I guess it’s my last two fights, with Dubois and next, I don’t know who. I’ll talk to you after this fight, it’s my life.”

If he does, he will follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman, Vasiliy Lomachenko, as a fan favourite and legend of the game.

But his attention is firmly set on the tall task of a big punching heavyweight in the form of his life, which is never an easy ask.

Daniel Dubois Confirms Oleksandr Usyk Won’t Deny Him Rematch Revenge As He Plots to ‘Take Over’ the Heavyweight Division

Daniel Dubois Confirms Oleksandr Usyk Won’t Deny Him Rematch Revenge As He Plots to ‘Take Over’ the Heavyweight Division

Daniel Dubois has made it crystal clear — he’s not finished with Oleksandr Usyk just yet. The British heavyweight powerhouse has vowed to settle unfinished business with the unified world champion, insisting that the Ukrainian legend “won’t deny” him the opportunity for rematch revenge. Still only 26, Dubois is carving out a redemptive path back to the top and is determined to seize his moment, not only to rewrite the past — but to “take over” the heavyweight division.

A Painful Chapter Left Unfinished

Their first clash in August 2023 ended in bitter disappointment for Dubois. While Usyk retained his WBA, WBO, and IBF titles via ninth-round stoppage, controversy swirled around the fifth round when Dubois landed a shot deemed a low blow. Many observers — including Dubois and his team — insisted the punch was legal and should have resulted in a knockdown. Instead, Usyk was given time to recover, and the momentum slipped through Dubois’ fingers.

Though he lost that night, Dubois didn’t lose his hunger. Instead, the defeat has become a source of fuel for a fighter who now sees his heavyweight journey as a mission of vengeance and redemption.

“He Won’t Be Able to Run Forever”

In a bold new statement, Dubois confirmed his unwavering pursuit of the Usyk rematch.

“He knows I’m coming back for him. Usyk won’t be able to run forever. That fight ended in controversy, and the fans know it. I deserve my shot at revenge — and I’m going to get it.”

Dubois’ determination isn’t mere talk. Since the Usyk fight, he has returned to the gym with renewed discipline, working under a revitalized training regime and sharpening the aggressive style that once made him one of the most feared young fighters in the sport.

Climbing Back to Contention

Dubois understands the politics of boxing, and he knows he must earn his way back into title contention. The London-born bruiser has set his sights on facing top contenders, aiming to blast his way back into the mandatory challenger spot. With a number of exciting matchups on the horizon — including potential bouts against the likes of Zhilei Zhang, Joseph Parker, or Filip Hrgović — Dubois is ready to test himself again on the biggest stages.

“This isn’t just about one fight. This is about taking over the whole division,” he said. “I’m coming back stronger, faster, and more dangerous than ever. Every fight from here on is a statement.”

A New Era for Dubois

There’s a clear shift in Dubois’ tone. Once labeled a raw talent with suspect stamina, he now speaks like a man on a mission. Working closely with a new coaching team focused on mental fortitude and tactical awareness, Dubois is embracing the lessons from his past rather than shying away from them.

“Every fighter has a setback. What matters is how you come back. And I’m coming back to rule,” he stated confidently.

Fans and critics alike have noted the mental evolution in Dubois — a maturity that wasn’t always visible in his earlier fights. While his physical tools have never been in doubt, it’s his growing mental toughness and ring intelligence that could now unlock the next level of his potential.

The Heavyweight Landscape: Ready for Disruption

The heavyweight division is currently in a state of flux. Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are locked in a rivalry that has defined the undisputed championship era, while Anthony Joshua is mounting a comeback of his own. New threats like Jared Anderson, Arslanbek Makhmudov, and Frank Sanchez are also making waves.

But Dubois sees a lane for himself — one built not only on raw power, but on a sense of unfinished destiny. He believes that avenging his loss to Usyk will mark the beginning of a new reign — one in which he becomes the man to beat.
