Despite the enthusiasm, Tyson Fury destroys Anthony Joshua’s dream of having a perfect fight and even calls him an old boxer

Anthony Joshua : The “Gypsy King” rules out a fight with Anthony Joshua and dismisses him harshly, saying he is no longer a challenge

For years, boxing fans have eagerly awaited a showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. After Fury‘s retirement announcement in January, many thought the long-awaited fight would never happen

However, a recent exclusive from GB News has reignited hope: the two fighters have reportedly reached an agreement to step into the ring.

According to a close source quoted by the British media, “the fight between Fury and Joshua is a matter of when, not if it will happen”. The same informant claimed that Fury has decided to come out of retirement to face Joshua, and that he has therefore stepped up his physical preparation in recent months. The official announcement is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Fury vs. Joshua: Historic night at Wembley or just smoke and mirrors?

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has become the epicenter of major boxing events, driven by the influence of His Excellency Turki Alalshikh. However, the eagerly awaited fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is reportedly being negotiated to take place at the iconic Wembley Stadium. According to sources close to the negotiations, both fighters are said to have insisted on fighting on British soil, which would make the evening a milestone for UKboxing.

Despite the enthusiasm, uncertainty persists. The reason? Just a few days ago, Tyson Fury publicly ruled out the possibility of facing Joshua, saying: “I’m retired, and he’s in the twilight of his career”. Although he claims to be happy with his retirement, Fury has hinted that only one opponent could bring him back to the ring… and no, it’s not Anthony Joshua.

Fury only thinks about Usyk: “That’s the fight I want”

In an interview with Boxing SceneTyson Fury was clear about his conditions for returning to the ring: he would only do so to face Oleksandr Usyk, and on British soil. “If I come back, it will be for Usyk, in England. That’s the fight I want right now,” said the former WBC world champion.

Fury, who still maintains he won his second fight against the Ukrainian last December, did not hide his frustration with the judges’ decision. “My last fight was a clear win for the ‘Gypsy King’. Anyone in boxing knows that. It was complete rubbish,” said the visibly upset Briton.

It is clear that Fury’s position for a fight with Anthony Joshua is negative, as he considers that his best option now is the rematch against Usyk, where he wants a clean fight and where he is not harmed by the judges. However, the news surrounding Usyk facing Daniel Dubois on July 19 leaves the door open to perhaps see the return of the ‘Gypsy King’ to the ring to seek the true end of his career against Joshua.

I’m Intrested In Money, No Much Talks Next Is the Ring” I ‘m Available to fight Anthony Joshua – Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua: A press conference was held at the Rixos Tersane Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey, by the International Boxing Association (IBA), in which the immediate objectives of this organisation were set out. The IBA, which for years ran Olympic boxing, has been relegated by World Boxing, after being tasked by the International Olympic Committee

The International Boxing Association, led by Uman Kremlev, wants to remain even more closely linked to pugilism, organising not only elite amateur boxing championships, but also in other categories such as Youth, Junior, Schoolboys, etc.

The event was attended by prominent professional boxers, such as the four-weight world champion Terence Crawford, former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, the legendary Roy Jones, as well as other important fighters such as WBA champion Rolando Romero, Conor Benn, Ben Whitaker, Derek Chisora, Shannon Briggs and many more.

Tyson Fury has made it clear that he is not retiring, that he will return if he is made a good offer.“Show me the money,” he told the IBA president. He would be willing to return as soon as possible, even after the summer against Anthony Joshua, for a title of that organization. He was seen training in Istanbul and looks in good shape. “I always come back,” so he could be in the ring much sooner than expected.

Meanwhile, Terence Crawford, who on September 13 will try to snatch the four super middleweight crowns from Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, did not want to make explicit statements: “We will see everything in the ring,” he said.

In the amateur field, IBA will continue to organize world and regional championships, such as European or Asian championships, in parallel with those supervised by World Boxing, but with the difference of the large financial prizes promised by IBA, which will surely double the competitions for the best amateur boxers

The aim of IBA is to create spectacular galas that surpass those that can be organized by any other entity. In this type of event, both amateur and professional boxers who have not fought a certain number of fights in this field may participate. At the end of the year, the world championships will be held in the United Arab Emirates, with some 30 top-level fighters per weight category.

The IBA is also breaking into bare-knuckle boxing with major changes in the direction of this discipline, new rules and better protection for the fighters. They are also creating IBA Boxing Gyms, high-end sports complexes, in various locations around the world, as well as interesting games such as the IBA Boxing Game, or an elegant line of sportswear.

As for professional boxing, IBA is going to develop IBA Pro, trying to collaborate with the four world organizations, WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO, but it has not been very clear the direction they will take firmly in the professional field, without ruling out that they end up acting as a professional organization. They are coming in with a lot of economic strength and the ultimate goal could be very ambitious.

Over Jake Paul Anthony Joshua Humbled by Tyson Fury’s Blunt One-Line Jake Paul Remark

Anthony Joshua: “I am retired, and he is at the end of his career.” That’s what Tyson Fury said yesterday when asked if he would consider making his comeback against Anthony Joshua. And just like that, he not only narrowed the options for AJ’s next opponent but also crushed the long-standing hopes of fans desperate to see Britain’s two biggest heavyweights collide. Though last month, GB News reported that both fighters had agreed to face off, with Fury supposedly reversing his retirement, his latest comments seem to slam the door shut. For fans, it looks like the final nail in the coffin for a once-dreamt-of mega-fight.

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, hasn’t stepped into the ring since suffering a brutal knockout loss to fellow Brit Daniel Dubois last September. While an immediate rematch was initially expected, minor injuries forced AJ to take a break. Now 35, the former two-time heavyweight champion is eyeing a return by the end of the year. But in a surprising twist, recent buzz has centered around a potential bout between Joshua and Jake Paul.

The pair reportedly had a phone call and verbally agreed to fight in 2026. If that matchup does materialize, Tyson Fury has already weighed in, with a cheeky prediction on how things would play out. A new update emerged just hours ago when The Mac Life shared an Instagram post captioned, “Tyson Fury gives his verdict on a hypothetical Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul match up

So, what did he say? When asked for his take at the IBA Pro 7 event in Istanbul, Fury gave a typically cheeky response: “I think it is a good fight. It is a real 50/50 fight,” poking fun at Joshua’s credibility, despite the Brit’s far superior resume to the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Still, Fury made a point to show some respect. “Although AJ has been a rival of mine for ten years, he has been a fantastic advocate for British boxing and has played the game well,” he said. But he didn’t stop there. “I wouldn’t say I hold all the power over him but if he’s only sitting there and waiting for me to come, he could be waiting a long time. He might be f—ing 60 by the time I decide I want him – or it might be next week.”

Although Tyson Fury seems firm about staying retired, he has hinted at one scenario that could change his mind. “If I was going to come back, I’d come back for Usyk. In England.” Tyson Fury still feels he was robbed in their last fight against Oleksandr Usyk, and the fact that both of his career losses came against the Ukrainian continues to sting. While a clash with Anthony Joshua seems off the table for now, under the right circumstances, even Tyson Fury admits things could change.

Despite Joshua responded positively Tyson Fury Delivers Surprising Verdict On Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul Fight

A fight between two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul is a serious possibility. Tyson Fury has weighed in on how it might play out.

Paul has always been ambitious in his call outs. Since beating a 58-year-old faded Mike Tyson last year, he set his sights on Joshua, calling the Olympic Gold Medalist stiff, without skill and lacking a chin.

Despite Joshua responded positively to the tentative offer, most fans would rather him face Fury in a long-awaited, all-British heavyweight scrap. With ‘The Gypsy King’ adamant he is retired, that does not look to be happening anytime soon.

Speaking in a media scrum after confirming that he will not be fighting again, a straight-faced Fury backed the match-up and called it a pick ’em.

“I think it’s a good fight. I think it’s a real, 50/50 fight.”

Joshua himself has expressed his interest in the fight, backed by promoter Eddie Hearn, and Paul remains convinced it will happen in 2026.

The most likely course of action for the Brit is two or three more traditional contests, provided he scores victories, before entertaining the big-money sideshow fight when he has one foot out the door of the sport.

‘AJ’ is expected to return before the end of the year, with the latest update on his recovery from elbow surgery being that he could fit in a full training camp and be ready for November.

As for Paul, his campaign has been bolstered this week by the WBA officially ranking him at number 14 in its cruiserweight rankings. The development means champion Gilberto Ramirez – who also holds the WBO belt – could opt to make a voluntary defence against the American.

No Excuse ‘They’re running scared!’ Anthony Joshua – Dillian Whyte picked Moses Itauma despite Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker offers

Dillian Whyte has revealed that he was offered rematches with Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker but embraced the ‘risk’ of a Moses Itauma fight.

The former WBC interim champion has agreed to face red-hot heavyweight prospect Itauma in Saudi Arabia on August 16.

But Whyte has admitted that he also discussed potential fights against long-term British rival Joshua and New Zealander Parker.

“You know what, I got offered three names, AJ, Parker and Moses Itauma,” Whyte exclusively told Sky Sports.

“These guys were messing about, Parker was being greedy, they didn’t want to be realistic on the split. AJ wasn’t ready, obviously they’re trying to keep their options open, I’m options for no one.

“I think Moses Itauma, no one wants to fight him. My whole career has been, I’ve always taken the fights that no one wanted to take and nothing’s changed now. It’s an opportunity, it’s a great opportunity. Win this fight, I’m right back like I never left.

“Everyone’s scared of him, all these other supposed hard man heavyweights who pride themselves on being hard fighting anyone, they’re running scared from fighting this guy.

We’re in the business to fight, we’re in the business to entertain, we’re in the business to give the fans a good fight.”

Joshua, who has not fought since a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois last September, has required surgery on a troublesome elbow.

Parker, whose promoters offered no comment in response to Whyte’s claims when contacted by Sky Sports News, is yet to announce his next fight after a stoppage win over Martin Bakole in February.

Anthony joshua

“I would have loved to fight AJ again because he’s the only one in that list that beat me before,” said Whyte.

“I’ve beaten him once [in the amateur ranks], he’s beaten me once, I’d love to fight him again. But AJ, his injuries and his surgery and stuff, they didn’t know if he was going to be ready.

“He wasn’t going to be ready, so I was like: ‘Okay, I’m not going to wait around.’

“The Joseph Parker fight, it’s Parker being greedy. When I fought him years ago, he was kind of on a losing streak.

“I gave him a certain split, I was fair and I was just. And then he’s being greedy.

“And I was like: ‘Do you want to fight someone who’s actually beaten you or are you just in it for the money?’ And clearly, he’s just in it for the money.

Anthony joshua

‘So I said: ‘Okay, all right, no worries.

“Then with Moses, I was like: ‘Hell yeah, I’ll definitely take the fight.’

Asked if he could still face Joshua again in the future, Whyte said: “I don’t know and I don’t really care to be honest. I’m not 27, I haven’t got time to be sitting around waiting for these guys.

“I’ve always known to fight the best fighters in my era, and everyone’s raving about Moses Itauma, saying he’s the best fighter since Mike Tyson.

Can’t Be Him But I Will Comeback For One Man But It’s Not Anthony Joshua – Tyson Fury Announces

Tyson Fury announced an abrupt retirement from boxing back in January. It came following two fights against Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, where ‘The Gypsy King’ came up short in both of them. The first was in May of that year, where Fury lost his WBC heavyweight title as Usyk won by split decision to become undisputed heavyweight champion.

They then met again in December, with Usyk winning by unanimous decision on this occasion, the only two times in Fury’s career where he has tasted defeat.

It was expected that the Morecambe man would then head into a domestic showdown with Anthony Joshua before Fury’s decision to hang up his gloves brought those plans to an end.

There has been constant speculation that ‘The Gypsy King’ will return for the fight, however he has now revealed in a media scrum that the only fight he would motivate him to comeback is a trilogy against Usyk.

“If I was going to come back I’d come back for Usyk. In England. That’s the one I want immediately, that would be the fight I want next. In England for sure.”

Tyson fury

Fury also explained how he still disagrees with the outcome of the fight with Usyk in December.

“My last fight was a clear f**king victory for The Gypsy King. Anybody in boxing can see that. A complete load of dogs**t.

“I want a fair fight, I don’t want any favours, I want a fair fight and a fair result. Which I know I didn’t [get]. I thought I won it by five rounds. I watched it 250 times. Each way I never see it as a way for him to win. They can do what they want. If they say it’s Tueaday it’s Tuesday.”

Usyk returns later this month when he defends his titles against IBF champion Daniel Dubois, with a third bout against Fury looking unlikely for now. However, the Ukrainian has said he would be open to the trilogy.

It would tempt a ‘lot of people to watch’ Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul , says promoter Eddie Hearn

Jake Paul reiterated his desire to fight Anthony Joshua at the weekend; The British heavyweight’s promoter Eddie Hearn admitted the fight would generate massive public demand and financial reward’; Paul defeated former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr on Saturday night

Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul would tempt a ‘lot of people’ to watch the fight, says the British heavyweight’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

The YouTuber turned professional fighter called for an audacious clash against Joshua, a two-time world champion, in the aftermath of his unanimous decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr last weekend.

Joshua is expected to return in November or December this year after elbow surgery and Hearn admitted that a future showdown with Paul would create massive public demand and financial reward.

“I think you have to give Jake his props and look he’s a disruptor, he wants to create mad moments,” Hearn told Sky Sports.

“If he wants to be mad enough to get in the ring with Anthony Joshua and make several tens of potentially hundreds of millions, he will do it, Jake Paul.

“Will AJ? He’s his own man, but I will be saying, ‘Yeah, go on mate. Go and deal with this guy. Get him out of the game.’

“I think a lot of people will tune in to watch. Is it a fight that I think should be happening? No, not really, but we live in a completely crazy world, especially in the world of boxing where you just never know.”

Paul has said: “Anthony Joshua is an insane fight, but I want that challenge.

“We’ve been DM-ing back and forth. He wants to make it happen. He called me up and it’s looking very likely for next year.”

Paul can challenge for world title

Anthony joshua

Paul, who fights at cruiserweight, would have to step up in weight for a Joshua fight.

But he has now entered the World Boxing Association’s cruiserweight rankings at No 14, making him eligible to challenge WBA champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez.

“I want tougher fighters. I want to be a world champion,” Paul said after defeating Chavez.

“Zurdo looked slow tonight. That’d be easy work, too.”

Hearn insisted that Paul deserves credit for a career-best performance against Chavez, a former WBC middleweight champion.

He said: “I’ve surprised myself this week because I haven’t given him the respect that I think he deserves, which is look this guy has been fighting for a while now in big events around the world.

Anthony joshua

“He went into the game as a complete novice. I think he’s made big improvements as a boxer. I think he’s taking things seriously. I don’t think he’s a YouTuber anymore. I think he’s a professional boxer.

“Is he top 15 in the world? Don’t be so ridiculous. But is he top 100 in the world? Maybe and by the way, I know that might not sound as a compliment, that’s a big compliment.

“I think his [boxing] IQ is improving. I think he can whack. I think he can take a shot. He beat Chavez who is a washed up guy but he was a former world champion that did train for that fight.”

“Get him out of boxing” Eddie Hearn praises Jake Paul but implores Anthony Joshua to “Get him out of boxing”

Anthony Joshua: Over the weekend, Jake Paul had another boxing event in which he was better than his opponent. But in the process, he once again showed that his choice of opponent isn’t changing the stigma around him as a boxer. No one can take him too seriously as a pure boxer because of the level of opponents he has faced.

Paul has claimed that he’s ready to take a major step up in competition following his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The problem is that we’ve heard it from him before. If he’s serious this time, though, we could be set for a truly explosive next fight. Paul went so far as to call out two completely opposite fighters in Gervonta Davis and Anthony Joshua. Both seem outlandish all things considered.

For one, both would be far and away the most accomplished and dangerous fighters Paul has faced so far. They also aren’t even in his weight class. Davis is 60 pounds lighter than Paul, while Joshua is around 40 pounds heavier. Neither makes sense, but if Paul is serious, Joshua’s promoter says why not?

Anthony joshua

Eddie Hearn was asked about Paul calling out Joshua, and Hearn surprisingly had a lot of praise for Paul, saying he deserves respect for taking boxing seriously for so many years. Hearn also doesn’t mind the idea of Joshua fighting Paul, especially since it will lead to a lot of money for everyone involved. But he also sent Paul a warning in the process.

If he wants to be mad enough to get into a ring with Anthony Joshua and make several tens or potentially hundreds of millions, [Paul] will do it. Will AJ? He’s his own man, but I will be saying, ‘Go and deal with this guy, get him out of the game’. And I think a lot of people would tune in to watch. But is it a fight that I think should be happening? No, not really, but we live in a completely crazy world. You just never know.

Waited for years, It Is Now Anthony Joshua In Haste to KO The Bronze Bomber’ in surprise location years before his drab comeback win

Anthony Joshua’s return to the ring has been delayed after an injury, but his return could see the making of a fight fans have wanted for years.

For years fans have requested Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder, and on several occasions a fight between the pair seemed like the logical next move.

In 2023 the fight got close once again, with AJ and Wilder co-heading a double bill that aimed to set up the mega-fight. Whilst AJ held up his end, Wilder lost to Joseph Parker by unanimous decision.

Despite Wilder’s series of losses, he has returned with a win over Tyrrell Herndon, which could now set up a fight with Joshua sometime at the end of the year.

Joshua wanted the fight seven years ago, and had an out-of-the-box idea regarding its location.

Anthony Joshua wanted to stage Deontay Wilder fight in Nigeria seven years ago

Seven years ago, in 2017, IFL spoke to AJ ahead of his fight against Carlos Takam in Cardiff, Wales.

In that interview, AJ spoke on his upcoming fight, which he won via 10th-round TKO, but also spoke on the Deontay Wilder fight, and where it should be hosted.

The topic arose when Joshua was asked if he thought he’d ever fight in his home country of Nigeria.

Joshua said, “It could happen. It just has to be the right fight. I think me and Wilder, God willing that fight comes off which it has to, would be good for Nigeria, but then it’s good for Vegas as well.”

Wilder and Joshua are both of Nigerian heritage, so the location is not unreasonable for the mega-fight between the pair.

Ahead of his fight with Herndon, it was revealed that Wilder had parted ways with his trainer Malik Scott, who oversaw just one win in his time with ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Wilder knocked out Scott as an opponent years before they teamed up.

Wilder teamed up with Don House, who used to coach Bermane Stiverne, the only man Wilder has beaten on points.

Stiverne broke Wilder’s 32-KO streak when they fought for the world title, but was ironed out in one round in their rematch.

After knockout taunt Boxing star Anthony Joshua issued a warning to American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul

British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua has issued a warning to American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul following a taunt about his previous knockout defeats, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Paul, 28, revealed in a recent interview with The Sun that he and the former two-time heavyweight champion had been exchanging private messages earlier this year, during which he mocked Joshua over his knockout losses. However, the trolling prompted a stern response from the 35-year-old.

According to Paul, the last message he received from Joshua carried a clear and menacing tone.

“He said, ‘I can’t wait to fight. You’re gonna be fighting for your life and you’ll know the feeling that I’ve gone through.’ Or something like that,” Paul told SunSport, admitting it was the last time he heard from Joshua.

The brewing tension has fuelled speculation about a possible future clash between both men, with Paul expressing his desire to face Joshua in front of a hostile British crowd.

“My first fight was in front of an English crowd and it’s rowdy,” Paul said.

“I love walking into the lions’ den and so me versus Anthony Joshua, 100,000 people chanting ‘f*** Jake Paul’ would be pretty fun for me.”

Joshua, who has not fought since suffering a knockout defeat to fellow Brit Daniel Dubois in September, is currently recovering from elbow surgery.

Despite his recent inactivity, he remains a formidable presence in the heavyweight scene.

Paul, meanwhile, continues to blur the lines between entertainment and elite boxing. His controversial exhibition bout against boxing legend Mike Tyson was watched by over 100 million viewers on Netflix.

Paul won the eight-round fight, though it drew widespread criticism due to Tyson’s age.

As he returned to the ring on Sunday, beating former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a dominant points victory, Paul remains focused on climbing the ranks.

“I think it’s back to the drawing board after this, especially depending on what the WBC and WBA rank me after I win,” he said.

“If they rank me in the position where I can go for a world championship, then we’re gonna try and get that done.”
