“Anthony Joshua Breaks Silence After Oleksandr Usyk Destroys Daniel Dubois Again — What He Said Will Raise Eyebrows”

Oleksandr Usyk cemented his position as the best heavyweight of his generation with a demolition of Daniel Dubois in their rematch.

The Ukrainian became a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion by beating Dubois in even more emphatic fashion than he did when they first met in 2023. On that night he stopped ‘DDD’ inside nine rounds, but this time, in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley, he knocked the Brit out four rounds earlier after a dominant performance from the first bell.

One man who was a keen observer was former Usyk and Dubois foe, Anthony Joshua. Speaking to ‘The Stomping Ground’ promoter Eddie Hearn revealed his conversation with ‘AJ’ in the wake of Dubois’ performance, with the former champion replying ‘I know’ when told he should have beaten ‘DDD’ when they met in September.

“Yeah, I spoke to AJ. I just text him and I said number 1, Usyk is unbelievable and number 2, we really should have beaten Dubois and he goes ‘I Know’.”

As for who’s next for Joshua, who’s last fight saw himself stopped by Dubois, Hearn now thinks Jake Paul is the most likely option

“I think right now to be honest with you in this bizarre world where we just saw Jake Paul facing off with Oleksandr Usyk, what is going on? The pound for pound number one fighter in the world is facing off with Jake Paul.

Anthony joshua

But it sounds like AJ is going to fight Jake Paul, if he’s true to his word and really wants the fight, it’s all very well saying ‘he’s got a weak chin and I’ll knock him out’, listen if he’s true to his word the fight will happen. If they actually want the fight then we can do the fight that does the biggest numbers in the sport. Forget Canelo vs Crawford, that doesn’t even touch the surface of AJ against Jake Paul.

If you want to o the biggest numbers in the sport we’ll make it happen but please be careful what you wish for, this ain’t a game, this is physically dangerous, so if you want to do it be careful but we will do it.”

Another possibility for Joshua is a long-awaited clash against Tyson Fury, although ‘The Gypsy King’ has made it clear he wants one more crack at Usyk.

“Jake Paul Shocks Everyone by Agreeing to Outrageous Terms for Anthony Joshua Fight During Secretive Turki Alalshikh Meeting”

Jake Paul has proven he is serious about facing Anthony Joshua by accepting an incredibly low purse split for the crossover clash.

‘The Problem Child’ met with Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh last week to discuss a possible fight with AJ.

Paul has set his sights on the former unified heavyweight champion after overcoming Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in his last outing.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer vowed to knock out Joshua during a lengthy rant on his podcast where he claimed the Watford powerhouse ‘doesn’t have a chin’

This led to a phone call with the Olympic gold medallist, where both men verbally agreed to face each other in 2026.

Boxing mogul Alalshikh was then contacted to get involved with the fight

And during a recent appearance on ‘Tha Boxing Voice’, he revealed that Paul had accepted his proposal for a 99-1 purse split in Joshua’s favour.

“I’m not against what Jake Paul’s doing in boxing, it’s good for boxing to have a young generation,” said Alalshikh.

“I’m against some kinds of fights he does. I’m now thinking him against Joshua. Joshua, if he destroys (Paul), it will be good for me.

Amir Khan Drops Bombshell, Suggests “A J” Has One Foot Out of Boxing in ‘Semi-Retirement’

Amir Khan discussed Anthony Joshua’s future and said the former heavyweight champion is currently in “semi-retirement”.

Anthony Joshua is currently in “semi-retirement” as talks of a long-awaited fight with Tyson Fury remain unresolved, according to Amir Khan.

Joshua has not fought since his emphatic loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September 2024.

Since then, he has been linked with high-profile opponents, including Fury and Deontay Wilder, but no fight has yet been confirmed.

It is believed that Fury is open to coming out of retirement, having verbally agreed to return to face Joshua. However, negotiations remain ongoing as both camps work through financial details.

Khan recently met Joshua in Ghana and has now shared insights from their conversation.

He revealed Joshua’s current focus is away from the ring:

“He seems to be in semi-retirement.

“He’s looking at all business opportunities and stuff like that, but he has done all of the hard work, AJ has done great things in the sport and has done it all.

“He is an Olympic gold-medallist, a former two-time world champion and I think he’s one or two fights away from retiring or maybe one more fight and he’ll call it a day but that’s just my opinion.

“We all want to see the Tyson Fury fight, let’s hope they can make it happen.”

Fury announced his retirement in January 2025 after losing to Oleksandr Usyk. Yet the 36-year-old has a history of reversing such decisions, fuelling speculation he may return once again.

Amir Khan believes Fury’s comeback could hinge on a tune-up fight before a major bout with either Usyk or Joshua.

He said: “I hope Tyson comes back, he’s a friend of mine and Turki Alalshikh always gets a big fight for him as well.

“The loser of Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois would be a good fight next for Tyson as a tune-up fight.

“I have Daniel Dubois losing to Oleksandr Usyk and that would be a great comeback fight for Tyson as it is a fight still at the top (level) and then fight Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua which is the fight I want to see.

Anthony joshua

“There are a few good options still there for Fury because he is such a big name and has that backing.

On the possibility of a Fury vs Joshua clash, Khan believes the odds are now evenly split:

“With Fury and AJ, they have both had time out of the ring and I believe both fighters have a 50/50 chance of winning the fight.

“At first, I was favouring Tyson Fury but not anymore, I think it is a 50/50 fight.

“It is a fight where you can’t say who is going to win because is it the power or the boxing IQ that wins the fight? It’s hard to say.”

Picking Up the Pieces, Maya Jama Draws Closer to “A J” During New Campaign—Romance Rumors Swirl After Stormzy Breakup

Maya Jama appeared nonplussed by her recent split with Stormzy as she spent time with heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua on Wednesday.

The presenter is currently working on a new Lucozade campaign with Joshua, and she was filmed interviewing the sportsman at a London gym as he prepares for his hotly anticipated rematch with Andy Ruiz, Jr

Taking to Instagram stories, Maya, 25, shared a short behind the scenes video of herself chatting with the dethroned former unified world heavyweight champion as they sat alongside one another outside a boxing ring.

The presenter also shared a joke with fans by claiming Joshua, who travels to Saudi Arabia for his rematch with Ruiz, Jr in December, was ‘teaching her how to fight.’

She later shared a selfie with the boxer, who grinned while sitting next to Maya following their promotional interview.

Given its timing, newly single Maya’s latest posts prompted inevitable speculation from fans – with many claiming the pair have the makings of a potential couple.

Taking to Twitter, one follower predicated: ‘The new power couple, early stages.’

While another urged the pair to get together, adding: ‘We love to see it.’

Maya and grime star Stormzy dated for four years but are believed to have ended their relationship in order to focus on their respective careers.

Maya’s representative told MailOnline: ‘I can confirm the relationship has ended and Maya has separated from Stormzy.’

The couple were last seen together on Wednesday August 14, where they celebrated Maya’s birthday with a dinner at swanky Mayfair eatery, Sexy Fish.

They first went public with their romance in 2016 after initially keeping their relationship private, and have made no secret of their commitment to each other.

Stormzy previously said he planned to marry Maya, telling the Sunday Mirror in February 2018: ‘I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right. She is so sick, she is the best.’

Meanwhile, Maya has been less outspoken about their relationship, and last year hit out at the fact that she was often referred to as ‘Stormzy’s girlfriend’, calling the term ‘ignorant.’

Daniel Dubois: “People Still Doubt I’m the Real Deal, But They Won’t for Long”

Just hours before Daniel Dubois stunned the boxing world by knocking out Anthony Joshua in front of a roaring crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium last September, he and his father, Stan, were quietly throwing a party at their Essex home.

Unbeknownst to them, the gathering wasn’t just a pre-fight ritual—it was a prophetic celebration of the seismic shift that was about to shake the heavyweight division. That night, Joshua was flattened, his legacy rattled, and months later, Tyson Fury would fail to reclaim his world titles from Oleksandr Usyk—cementing a new chapter in heavyweight history.

Now, the party plans are back in motion. This weekend, Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) prepares to run it back against Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) in a high-stakes rematch for the undisputed heavyweight crown—this time on home soil.

“We had a little celebration before the AJ fight,” Dubois told The Ring. “Music, food, good vibes. My dad brought some people around. We’re doing it again. Same energy. Just… less eating for me. Can’t go in the ring full,” he added with a smile.

Anthony joshua

But this time, there’s far more at stake than personal glory.

“Dubois becomes the first fighter to headline Wembley twice in succession”

With this bout, Dubois becomes the first fighter to headline Wembley twice in succession—a feat no one before him has achieved. If he wins, he doesn’t just reclaim respect—he takes the throne.

“This will be historic,” Dubois declares. “When I win at Wembley, it becomes mine. It used to be Joshua’s fortress—now it’s my kingdom. A lot of people still don’t see me as ‘The Man.’ But I will leave no doubt. This is my moment to stamp it. I am that guy.”

Their first meeting in Poland saw Dubois crumble under Usyk’s precision, a ninth-round TKO loss after a controversial low blow and mounting pressure. Questions swirled about Dubois’ heart and durability.

But with trainer Don Charles now fully in sync, that narrative has shifted. Some believe Usyk exaggerated the effects of Dubois’ fifth-round body shot—a moment Charles insists was legitimate.

Since that night, Dubois has gone on a ferocious tear—stopping Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and then Anthony Joshua, collecting the IBF belt vacated by Usyk along the way. Each battle hardened him for this night—the rematch of all rematches.

“The road led us right back here,” Dubois says. “To Usyk. To Wembley. To everything. It’s a full-circle moment. I’m ready to close the chapter and write a new one—with me at the top.”

Anthony joshua

“This fight is massive. It’s personal. It’s history. And this time… I’m not leaving it to chance. I’m going in to knock him out. No more talking. No more questions. It all ends here.”

Dubois has the tools. The power. The frame. And now, the experience. Whether that’s enough to dethrone the undefeated Usyk remains the question—but if Daniel Dubois has his way, there will be no denying who the new King of Wembley truly is.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has ignited speculation by revealing that intense behind-the-scenes talks are underway for a potential blockbuster showdown between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul.

Alalshikh, the influential chairman behind many of Saudi Arabia’s major boxing events, recently met with Jake Paul in Riyadh, sparking speculation about an unlikely but lucrative showdown between the YouTuber-turned-boxer and the former unified heavyweight champion.

Speaking to Boxing News during the Ring III weigh-in, Hearn admitted the idea is gaining traction:
“After speaking to His Excellency last night… in this mad world that we live in, I wouldn’t be surprised.”

While Joshua still has his sights set on an all-British heavyweight clash with Tyson Fury, Hearn says the door is open for a crossover fight with Paul, especially with Alalshikh expressing interest.

“Yeah, there have been discussions,” Hearn told Pro Boxing Fans. “I think he [Alalshikh] would like to do it. It’s mad enough to happen. It’s not something we were targeting, but if it’s offered, I’d be shocked if AJ didn’t accept it. Why wouldn’t you?”

Anthony joshua

Hearn clarified that the focus remains on securing a Tyson Fury bout in 2025, but hinted that squeezing in a Paul fight wouldn’t be out of the question: “If you guys want AJ to end this whole process, he’ll gladly do it.”

While still in early talks, the potential Joshua vs Paul matchup has now moved from fantasy to a real possibility, with the financial and promotional power of Saudi Arabia making even the most unlikely bouts a reality.

Anthony Joshua Wishes for His Son to Forge a Future Beyond the Boxing Ring

Plenty of fighters love to fight because it is in their blood. But former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua isn’t among those who love the game so much that he wants to see his son pulled into the action. Joshua said recently in an interview that he would like to see his son pursue other activities.

The struggle of children who attempt to follow their famous parents into their chosen profession isn’t limited to online boxing news. Many youngsters see how their parents work and feel the pull to follow mom or dad into the family business. This can create a lot of difficult pressures for people on both sides of the equation.

Especially in the United States, people are keen to avoid the appearance of nepotism. Many kids want to prove that they are able to do things on their own. However, as long as they carry their parents’ last name it can be a difficult hurdle to clear.

Joshua Says Mental Side of Sport Concerns Him

There are many understandable reasons for Joshua wanting to keep his now 8-year-old son, JJ, away from boxing. It’s a physically demanding sport that requires taking punches to the head. Even the most sound defensive boxers still get rocked and absorb trauma from their opponents, much like Joshua did last night.

But heavyweight boxing news shows that Joshua is most worried about the mental side that would come with the sport. Any boxer who competes needs to be mentally tough. Joshua’s son would also find a different type of mental pressure.

Anthony joshua

JJ would face the pressure of living up to his father’s name. Joshua is one of the best heavyweight boxers of the past 10 years. That would be a lot for any child to live up to.

Eddie Hearn Sparks Buzz with Revelation of High-Stakes Talks for Anthony Joshua’s Next Showdown

Anthony Joshua, once regarded as one of the best and most dangerous heavyweights in boxing, appears interested in taking on a second crossover fight.

Joshua entertained a non-traditional boxing fight before, when he took on, and then finished, the former UFC heavyweight ruler Francis Ngannou in just two brutal rounds. Ngannou had previously shook up the world as he put Tyson Fury on the deck in a prior bout, but Joshua beat him with ease

He has since lost in dramatic fashion to Daniel Dubois, and has held “discussions” about his comeback through his representative, Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn. Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, Hearn revealed the full plans for Joshua’s next fight, and talked about the possibility of a potential bizarre showdown with Jake Paul.

Anthony joshua

Although it had seemed that boxing was finally going to deliver an anticipated all-British heavyweight showdown between Joshua and Tyson Fury, that is no longer happening due to the Gypsy King’s retirement. Hearn said that, although a fight against Fury is out of the picture for 2025, that is a fight they are going to target, regardless, going into 2026.

But, between now and then, bouts against Joseph Parker, Agit Kabayel or Martin Bakole seem logical. One that may not have seemed logical, is against Paul. But boxing is stranger than fiction.

Hearn said the following to Pro Boxing Fans: “I was with His Excellency yesterday, obviously he’d met Jake Paul, I think he would like to do it, you know, but it’s mad enough to happen. It’s not something we expected.

“If it’s offered to us I would be shocked if AJ didn’t accept it, why wouldn’t you?”

Anthony joshua

Hearn added: “The plan for us is to fight Tyson Fury next year, if we can squeeze in Jake Paul along the way and you guys want AJ to end this whole process, he’ll gladly do it.”

With Turki Alalshikh seemingly keen on making Joshua vs Paul, it seems anything is possible and there is a real chance we see Joshua take on Paul, before he takes on ‘The Gypsy King’ in 2026.

Wilder teases a high-stakes showdown with “A J” before time runs out on both their legendary careers.

The year was 2018, and Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder were undefeated and ruled the heavyweight division by owning all of the titles and were en route to face off for an undisputed championship fight.
After Wilder fought to a draw in December 2018 against Tyson Fury, the plan was for him to move on to face Joshua. In March 2019, DAZN offered Wilder $100 million for a three-fight package, including two vs. Joshua, but he declined the deal, citing dishonesty.
Joshua moved on to fight Andy Ruiz Jr. and suffered a shocking stoppage loss and hasn’t been able to properly find his footing since, going 6-4 in the last six years. Wilder moved on to face Fury two more times and lost both by knockout, and he’s 1-4 in the last six years.
And now, Wilder, who turns 40 on Oct. 22, and Joshua, who turns 36 seven days prior, are looking to reignite a rivalry that has seen its share of false starts throughout the years.

Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) returns Friday to face Tyrrell Herndon (24-5, 15 KOs) at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas. The Global Combat Collective PPV event will be distributed by BLK Prime, Fubo, and PPV.com, among others, for $24.95.
Anthony joshuaJoshua (28-4, 25 KOs), meanwhile, is recovering from elbow surgery and plans to return later this year for his first fight since getting stopped in five rounds by Daniel Dubois in September. He, too, needs a bounce-back win.
“If that fight against Joshua comes, and everything is right, why not?” Wilder told The Ring. “We’ll deal with the situation when it happens. He’s still in the business, and I am as well. I want all of [them]. I am not going after just one particular person. If it’s a great fight to be made, I am there. I want to make the best fights people want to see.
“But I am not going to be around with picket signs asking for the fight. I am not going to do that. I never chased anyone. If people didn’t want to fight me, it was what it was. … I always wanted the biggest fights possible in my career.”

Wilder and Joshua were supposed to face off last year, but the former wasn’t able to beat Joseph Parker as the co-main event. Joshua gained a stoppage win against Otto Wallin in December 2023 in Saudi Arabia.

The decision defeat was a setback for Wilder, forcing him to seek a meaningful win against Zhilei Zhang. The result was even worse this time, and Wilder was zapped in five rounds last June.
It seems like a lifetime ago that Wilder was wreaking havoc in the division as an underweight knockout artist. Wilder enjoyed a WBC title run beginning in 2015 when he beat Bermane Stiverne and defended the title 10 times before meeting his match in Fury.
After overcoming mental health issues, Wilder wants to make one last run and face contemporaries he never got to clash with, including Oleksandr Usyk.

“I want the biggest fights possible,” said Wilder. “I don’t care about who the individual is. I’m not dwelling on these guys. These guys wouldn’t give me an opportunity to save their lives because they were stuck on not losing. I just wanted to be undisputed, but many people did not have me on their agenda because of how dangerous I am. That’s OK. That’s why I am still here pursuing myself and going on to do even greater things. This time it will be even more powerful.”

Report: Jake Paul Says Anthony Joshua Made a Serious Threat Toward Him Ahead of 2026 Fight

Controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has once again stirred the pot in the boxing world—this time by accusing former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua of making a serious threat toward him ahead of a possible 2026 clash.

In a recent interview that’s now making headlines, Paul alleged that Joshua made an alarming statement during a private exchange related to their rumored bout. While the exact wording hasn’t been confirmed, Paul claims the British heavyweight “crossed a line” with his remarks, describing the threat as deeply personal and intense.

“This isn’t just hype anymore,” Jake Paul reportedly said. “What he said to me goes beyond boxing. I don’t take that lightly.”

Though the two have never officially shared the ring or confirmed a scheduled fight, rumors of a future bout have grown louder in recent months. Paul, known for his aggressive promotion and viral callouts, has set his sights on bigger names as he looks to solidify his legitimacy in the sport. Anthony Joshua, a two-time world champion with Olympic gold under his belt, remains one of the biggest figures in boxing globally.

Anthony joshua

Sources close to Joshua have yet to respond publicly to Paul’s claims, and it remains unclear whether this alleged threat was made during a face-to-face meeting or via private messaging. Fans are divided—some believe it’s another publicity stunt by Paul, while others think tensions are genuinely heating up between the two fighters.

If the bout materializes in 2026 as speculated, it would mark a massive event, drawing attention not just for the athletic competition, but for the drama and personal stakes now tied to it. Jake Paul’s latest remarks will likely fan the flames, potentially bringing this fantasy matchup one step closer to reality.

For now, boxing fans will have to wait and see whether Anthony Joshua chooses to address the allegation—and whether Jake Paul’s bold claims help build the hype for one of the sport’s most unlikely but talked-about potential showdowns.
