Gervonta “Tank” Davis keeps making headlines, but increasingly not for his impact in boxing. Just one week after being detained in Miami, the world champion is back under scrutiny after a new arrest warrant was issued against him for violating his probation.
The boxer, one of the most explosive names in the lightweight division, is going through a critical moment outside the ring. According to court reports, authorities in Baltimore believe Davis failed to comply with the conditions imposed after a previous hit-and-run conviction, a case that already put his career in jeopardy in 2023. This new development only worsens a record that seems unable to find a breaking point.
The most recent turning point came on January 14, when Davis was arrested in Miami after being reported by his ex-partner, who accused him of assault, unlawful detention, and attempted kidnapping. The incident is linked to an altercation that allegedly occurred on October 27 at a nightclub in Florida.
According to the complaint, the boxer physically assaulted the woman in an area without security cameras and later in the venue’s parking lot. Police stated that surveillance footage from the club supports the victim’s account, who also filed a civil lawsuit weeks after the incident.

Although Davis was released after posting an $8,500 bond, the damage had already been done. The case led to the cancellation of his highly anticipated fight, impacting both his public image and his sporting projection.
The new arrest warrant issued in Baltimore is not directly tied to the Miami case, but rather to a violation of the probation Davis is serving for a past hit-and-run incident in which four people were injured.
According to authorities, the boxer failed to comply with supervised conduct requirements, reopening a case that appeared to be moving toward closure. A recent video circulating on social media accused him of partying while on probation, though it was later clarified that the footage was old. Even so, the damage to his credibility was already done.
As legal and sports analysts point out, Davis carries a reputation that erodes with every new incident, even when parts of the accusations are later disproven.
With a professional record of 30-0-1 and 28 knockouts, Gervonta Davis remains one of the most feared fighters in boxing. Outside the ring, however, his situation is becoming increasingly unsustainable. According to judicial sources and police reports, this new arrest warrant could lead to harsher sanctions and, once again, a suspension of his boxing activity.
