Round-By-Round Updates,Deontay Wilder stops Tyrrell Herndon in dominant return for first win in nearly 3 years

Deontay Wilder: Uncrowned has Deontay Wilder vs. Tyrrell Herndon live results, round-by-round updates, highlights, ring walks and start time for the Wilder vs. Herndon fight card on Friday night at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas. Former heavyweight champion Wilder ends a one-year layoff against the little-known Herndon.

Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) formerly held the WBC heavyweight title from 2015 until he lost it in his second of three fights with Tyson Fury in 2020. Wilder has recorded just one win since then, a first-round knockout of Robert Helenius in 2022. The one-time heavyweight champion is coming off back-to-back defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang in Saudi Arabia.

Herndon (24-5, 15 KOs) also hasn’t competed for more than 12 months. Fighting the majority of his career on untelevised shows, Herndon isn’t a name familiar to even the most avid boxing fans. He has previously shared the ring with Richard Torrez Jr., Efe Ajagba and Brandon Glanton, while the trio were each in the early stages of their careers, but suffered early losses every time.

Deontay Wilder vs. Tyrrell Herndon – Round 5

Herndon’s head movement has noticeably slowed in this round. Wilder swung with the right hand twice early in the frame and Herndon could only partially block it, rather than slip it as he had done consistently in the earlier rounds. The left hands for Wilder are still having the most success for him. “The Bronze Bomber” is letting his right hands go, but can’t seem to land clean yet. A pair of right hands get through for Herndon, now.

10-9 Wilder, 50-44 Wilder
